1:34.375 - 1:35.669? That's not much difference. The difference between fastest bike and slowest bike is less than 1.5 seconds. In the world of 600cc sportbikes, there is no such think as "slow". Even a "slow" Honda CBR600rr will come within microseconds of another bike. It's ALL down to the rider when you're dealing with such small portions of time like that.
You do a supersport comparo and you put ABS on the Honda? How is that fair? Unless the ABS comes standard you should leave it off as it increases weight.
I bought a Triumph Daytona. I'm telling y'all... the feel, the engine sound and rideability is unreal! Test Ride a stock one and listen to the sound and how thin it is! People really gravitate towards it and compliment it more than the jap bikes which are a dime a dozen on the streets, for sale, "coz were havin a baby"
@FRFM00 I have one of the new SE models and i agree. i get compliments ALL the time. my friends w jap bikes always get jealous lol and not to mention, i havent seen another daytona riding around my town.
@chichardchan Yeah its unreal. I get into at least 1 thorough conversation any sunny clear day. I bought the graphite in 07. need a SE or a 675R although I would look pretty dumb on a R in the street. Its way past cool how it can sound like a laser, a turbo, a camaro, a 4 cylinder. The sounds are just crazy. The agility is unreal. I'll never go to another manufacturer. I would only want a REPSOL one day! There are only 4 in my area.
basically made an awesome cbr600rr 2007 model then slowly crapped it up imo, took the power out of it by adding more midrange, and abs to make it heavier.
Honda has a great tranny and clutch system...smooth and short shifts makes it a nice street machine and it's high rpm redlining at 15,000 makes it screaming track bike as well. ABS is a life-saver on the street roads, but it requires a greater breaking distance to achieve the same breaking force as none-abs. Sure the CBR600RR has the least ponies coming out of the rear wheel, but it's the most balanced bike and still considered one of the lightest without ABS. Good but uneven match up video
why would you use the abs version of the cbr on this test? i dont think anyone who is using their bike on track day is going to opt to buy the abs version. it wasn't meant for the track but for real world situations like when someone pulls out in front of you. its just unnecessary weight in a track setting
@Michalgsxr Your are wrong! At 0.40 you pan the camera across a nice looking Ducati. There just is something about those Ducati's. But the triumph is nice to!
@Topthai23 Is there actually a difference except top speed? In my opinion 600cc is perfect, not too light, not too heavy. You can't open your throttle entirely on a R6, so what difference is is on an R1?
@Gill1am Sound like you never ride a 1000 cc super sport motorcycle have you . 1000 cc sport motorcycle give you more power in every gears . Go ahead buy yourself CBR 600 and race bmw S1000 rr let see it is the seem like you sad!!! i think you don't even own a motorcycle dumb ass saying 1000 cc = to 600 cc .
@Topthai23 Easy, I wasn't talking about races. You're right, I ride a Honda CBR125 (2011), so I may not know very well what I'm talking about now (btw, my dad has a driving school for bikes, so it's not that I'm completely clueless).
Ofcourse a BMW S1000 will win from a CBR600 IN A DRAG RACE. But in traffic / for practical purposes off the track, isn't a more maneuverable 600cc better than a 1000cc? My dad owns a BMW Black Rockster1100something cc's, and I don't see that thing splitting lanes..
@Gill1am first thing it riding not driving and i use to own 250 ninja , Gsxr 600 and now R1 i love all the motorcycle i just fucking with you .My friend i am sorry for not being nice to you :)
@Margalus89 Hondas haven't had the majority of race wins in MotoGP since 2006, this is the first year since then they have been winning ;thanks to the new rider/team/bike combo + super secret squirrel transmission. Honda makes great bikes in every category including Supersport, but this year, their CBR 600rr just doesn't cut the mustard, on the street or the track. I myself own a 2005 R1, which has it's pro's and con's, but everyone buys a bike for their own reasons, which I'm sure u already kno
@DeffyDude Wrong the cbr does have what it takes just look at the world supersport results not superstock! They also won in 2007 and in 2008 and barely lost out in 2009. Further making wrong is the fact that Honda won every single race in 2010 except one the entire season. Honda dominates the European grid in the modified supersport class. They easily out number every other manufacture for good reason. 2009+ CBRs have very restricted ECUs thats why the 07-08 are considered the fastest.
@DeffyDude Motorcycle Usa did a much more comprehensive 2 part comparison with all four Japanese bikes modified extensively. CBR placed second around the Big Willow track and first place on the street beating out the Suzuki and Yamaha. Not bad for a bike that hasn't really changed since 07 and is still the lightest by 10lbs without ABS.
Umm the triumph isnt a 600cc bike... In New Zealand you pay a lot more registration fee for a bike over 600cc, so that puts a lot of people off strait away. You might aswell buy a 1000cc bike.
@Danemontgomery true, I am in NZ as well. I have just bought a Triumph Daytona 675 SE 2010. Very pleased with it, is annoying I have to pay more to register it. But becuase it is so damn sexy I dont mind
@Danemontgomery in canada it doesn't change until after 750cc. even though it is different costs in different countries i would still say the triumph is part of the 600cc class..
actually the r6 09 its hard to ride, ive just bought this bike, i love it! but i really notice the difference.. much harder to ride.. hopefully ill get used to it =D
you can't fund the fastesse bike this way cuz they have to much riders with difrent compétence . one riders test all the bike that way you can say wich one is fastess than the other's and i agrée cbr 600 rr"s much better
@a6km I mean yes its my first personal bike that i can call mine but i have ridden a couple of 600s. Friend of mine has an 04 CBR600 and hes been lettin me ride it around in parkin lots
@a6km If he eventually plans to get a 600 to replace it, it would be a waste of money to start with a 250, then lose the value when he sells it, just to buy another and have to get adjusted to the extra power anyways.
Test rode the 2010 zx9r (same as 2009 more or less) and is the best have riden for me. easy in traffic nice and light and mad brakes and goes fast...but not faster than some older models like the 636 but a much better bike
@MboroMarksman4 There is no point in trying to defend yourself, the 600 as a first bike argument is an age old one that has split the biking community. The bike is only going to do what the rider makes it do, if you have a decent head on your shoulders and you will take it easy then go for it, however why would you buy a 600 to take it easy is beyond me. If you HAVE to have a 600 then look into other options like suzuki Katanas and SV650(a track weapon with a few mods), they are plenty powerful
no body except big companies give a shit about your degree cuz in the end the real smart people are the ones with field experience not some test scores that mean nothing
@gsxrpik or that triumph was murdering other bikes...its like saying people favor the BMW s1000RR because they are white and not asian...it just happen to win. QQ a bit moar.
Ima sale my car to get myself a BIKE of course something easy what would u guys recommended ?? Iknow a 250cc but I want something I won't get bored fast over time not wanting top of the line just something quick for beginners in the 250 category thanx
Nice video , Im aiming to get a 600cc sports bike summer 2011.. ive ridden a aprilia rs125 and a yammy yzf r125. both great bikes but didnt own them long cos the winter came fast so im not that experienced atall. Im 19 about 5"11 , any ideas of a good first 600 sports thats forgiving and easy to ride and get used to? thanks
@shiftsamm get a vfr 400 nc30 or rvf 400 nc35! i have owned everything from a 50cc to R1 and have owned 4 vfr's they are great fun, knee down on every round about and you will leave all bikes no matter how big on the twisties! they are bullet proof too! cheap and loads of fun. the vfr's are quicker than the rvf's but it's up to you
@shiftsamm I had a K7 GSXR 6 but at your height you may find any of the 600's cramped, I'm 6.2" and always found the Gixxer cramped even with the bars dropped and the rearsets as far as they would go.
@motcrue1 he isnt wrong, only on 0:40-0:42 is a ducati, and thats wasnt part of the shootout, look ram air below highligts and the rear seat missing (ducati dont use rear seat) that triumph daytona is beside honda cbr 0:55
@skyline44512 come on mate, surely you know that the 675 if a 3 cylinder bike and the 600's are 4 cylinder, thats why its allowed a higher capacity, just as a 2 cylinder bike can be 750cc and compare and compete in World Super Sport with the 4 cylinder 600's! And if you didnt know that, well now you have been educated. And @duckgeezer; same comment to you.
That daytona is soooo good looking and there arnt many about so you look a bit more individual than you would on yet another gsxr or ninja. although parts are more expensive on daytona. all gorgeous bikes though.
Besides slipper clutch and exhaust the next most important thing is supension. Todays sportbikes are set up for the track they just need to be dialed in
how does the triumph go faster without a slipper clutch? With professional riders you would think that would make a difference? Shouldent they mention that If your gonna be at the track on any kind of budget your gonna want a slipper clutch standard..a couple grand extra for something the other bikes already have? That money could be spent on an exhaust/ecu/quickshifter and then the other bikes will be faster...mayb im missing something here?
@skiingpoppinridin if you are going for track days all that stuff is really redundant. Unless you have a bike strictly set up for the track and one for the road..which in todays economy not to many people can do this. I think you may be a little ahead of the gang here or a more serious track rider.
@misterkenkoy1988 gix did a good job in making it look different then every other sport bike, old and new. But can't ignore the beauty of the Triumph, best looking, and the one I would have...but that is me.
Press F5 and it skips the shitty advertisement at the start-I hope everyone learns this because this unwanted advertising eats into your download limit so in effect you are paying to lose 15-30 seconds of your life
@diurnorj i beg to differ ...ive owned about every type of bike out there and for handling and comfort..Not to mention speed...My vote would go for the new gsxr ....
i am getting my lisence in december and i wanna get a bike the following summer but i dont know which one cause i want some torque and a 600cc and good on insurance do you have any suggestions out of the bikes in this review or not on this review?
@0o0thatguy0o0 ya dont listen to that dude.. I ride a cbr6RR and Id say go for a cbr or gixxer.. gixxer seats are plush and the power is good plus they have pretty good compartment space which after awhile will come of SOME use to you whether you think it out before or not.. It won't take long for you to appreciate a good gel seat tho..
@0o0thatguy0o0 For torque u should look at the Suzuki SV650 or SV650sf. The same bike, but one has fairings and other one doesn't. Its a 649cc V Twin i believe. Insurance companies don't charge you as much for the SV.
This wasnt very well thought out test simply by some randoms guys, shouldnt be allowed to post when real consumers will look at this and attempt to make a judgement call on what bike to buy.
@crickiit Hey dont be retarded. Its a 675 three cyl. if it was a v-twin it could be up to a 750cc and still be in the same class. The gsxr 750 is a 750cc four cyl. that gives it a huge advantage over a larger displacement (ie 675 or 750) lower cyl. count bike.
Scave, since you asked for a spelling check you annoying little shite:
M should be capitalized at the start of your sentance. "Spelling" has no 'a' in it, damn does have an 'n' in it, Youtube is one word and should be capitalized!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
why the fuck did they use a abs cbr fuckers? and about the daytona 6.....7......5... thats fucking 75cc more than all other bikes so it shouldn't even be here. I am actually surprised they didnt included a gxsr 750 to really fuck things up or a ducaty 884. Shit a 600cc class is just that 600cc. In the daytona they have to compensate with 75cc just to make up for the lack of technology in the motor what a shame! overall this review is all fuck all they way up!! but i like it .....not!
Do the math you ignorant. Three cylinders !! 25% less air/fuel mixture per RPM . Do you know what 4 stroke engine stands for?? Do you know how engine displacement is measured?
Excellent British accomplishment, 100% engineered and build in the UK
Even if you have a degree in mechanical engineering, that still doesn't mean you're a subject matter expert on motorcycle performance. Don't let your feelings get hurt so easily, man.
You made me take pen and paper out. Alright I was wrong in stating less air/ fuel mixture per RPM. The overall mix is the same as half the engine capacity per RPN, so should be even regardless of number of cylinders however theres 25% less ignitions per rpm on either a heavier piston or a larger displacement . Both alternatives require more power waisted in moving the piston up and down at high RPN .
Continues... Thats why the Daytona has better middle range but equivalent top end power to the Japanese bikes. Apologies for calling you ignorant. However this does not make the triple engine less advanced than the japanese It's simply a different configuration that also results on a more slim and compact bike . No manufacturer ( ducatti, Honda, Guzzi) has matched power and displacement with less cyclinders. I'm and Engineer as well.
You should have all Ducatti championships taken away from them. FYI having a degree is not that impressive, try harder if you want to state you know more than what I will ever know in three life spans.
@scavenom2008 are u ten years old and ur dad is mechanical engineer and did u copy that fom google because u didnt know how to spell it???? because the M and E are capitalised....u dumb fuck how does it feel to be exposed???
make sure you check my speallimg are you a fucking English teacher or what mother fucker. I don't give a dam about writing in you tube but probably it means a lot to you its probably all you have so I understand. Take it easy don't commit suicide OK.....but you can always give it a shot : )

TheFifacoder 6 months ago
It would have been a better test when they'd used a CBR 600 RR without the ABS.
Fore sure a 2007/08 CBR RR would have won it on the track of the: Yamaha, suzuki and kawa.
This because of the lightweight, superb handling and strongest midrange power!
The R6 looks tight but it should have got more power in the midrange and not only high peak HP!

@300zx93nismo1 unless you can buy 2t bikes in your area there isn't anything that will satisfy your itch.... try a ninja 500 or ninja 650

Nice video , Im aiming to get a 600cc sports bike summer 2011.. ive ridden a aprilia rs125 and a yammy yzf r125. both great bikes but didnt own them long cos the winter came fast so im not that experienced atall. Im 19 about 5"11 , any ideas of a good first 600 sports thats forgiving and easy to ride and get used to? thanks
shiftsamm 1 year ago
@shiftsamm get a vfr 400 nc30 or rvf 400 nc35! i have owned everything from a 50cc to R1 and have owned 4 vfr's they are great fun, knee down on every round about and you will leave all bikes no matter how big on the twisties! they are bullet proof too! cheap and loads of fun. the vfr's are quicker than the rvf's but it's up to you
MrWeasel1984 1 year ago 2
@shiftsamm I had a K7 GSXR 6 but at your height you may find any of the 600's cramped, I'm 6.2" and always found the Gixxer cramped even with the bars dropped and the rearsets as far as they would go.

Sherman129 1 year ago
That daytona is soooo good looking and there arnt many about so you look a bit more individual than you would on yet another gsxr or ninja. although parts are more expensive on daytona. all gorgeous bikes though.

Besides slipper clutch and exhaust the next most important thing is supension. Todays sportbikes are set up for the track they just need to be dialed in
Greenmarine6 1 year ago
So now all of a sudden a Triumph 675 is a 600? If a ZX6R (when it was 636) can't compete in a 600cc class the 675 certainly can't either
skyline44512 1 year ago
@skyline44512 I agree with you on that.
The only way this pile of badly made crap can compete with the jap bikes is by having 12.5 % more capacity. And even then it only just beats them.

anyone know what kind of helmet the blue and red one on the zx6r is??
zeborry20 1 year ago
how does the triumph go faster without a slipper clutch? With professional riders you would think that would make a difference? Shouldent they mention that If your gonna be at the track on any kind of budget your gonna want a slipper clutch standard..a couple grand extra for something the other bikes already have? That money could be spent on an exhaust/ecu/quickshifter and then the other bikes will be faster...mayb im missing something here?
skiingpoppinridin 1 year ago
@skiingpoppinridin if you are going for track days all that stuff is really redundant. Unless you have a bike strictly set up for the track and one for the road..which in todays economy not to many people can do this. I think you may be a little ahead of the gang here or a more serious track rider.

i am getting my lisence in december and i wanna get a bike the following summer but i dont know which one cause i want some torque and a 600cc and good on insurance do you have any suggestions out of the bikes in this review or not on this review?
0o0thatguy0o0 1 year ago
@0o0thatguy0o0 ya dont listen to that dude.. I ride a cbr6RR and Id say go for a cbr or gixxer.. gixxer seats are plush and the power is good plus they have pretty good compartment space which after awhile will come of SOME use to you whether you think it out before or not.. It won't take long for you to appreciate a good gel seat tho..
m1brett 1 year ago
@0o0thatguy0o0 For torque u should look at the Suzuki SV650 or SV650sf. The same bike, but one has fairings and other one doesn't. Its a 649cc V Twin i believe. Insurance companies don't charge you as much for the SV.
krazyxtoker 1 year ago
This wasnt very well thought out test simply by some randoms guys, shouldnt be allowed to post when real consumers will look at this and attempt to make a judgement call on what bike to buy.

lol no shit the 650 had it put the gsxr 750 out there
crickiit 1 year ago
@crickiit Hey dont be retarded. Its a 675 three cyl. if it was a v-twin it could be up to a 750cc and still be in the same class. The gsxr 750 is a 750cc four cyl. that gives it a huge advantage over a larger displacement (ie 675 or 750) lower cyl. count bike.
Daytonaman675 1 year ago
@Daytonaman675 the 675 is a nice bike i've ridden a couple.. however I'd still prefer the 750 gix..

polskakrew07 2 years ago
@polskakrew07 my thoughts exactly the same. surely honda would have at the least beat out suzuki. more weight + ABS on the track w/pros= DUMB.

Daytona was a 675 no shit.
And why use the ABS CBR when you know it will run slow with pro riders.

Scave, since you asked for a spelling check you annoying little shite:
M should be capitalized at the start of your sentance. "Spelling" has no 'a' in it, damn does have an 'n' in it, Youtube is one word and should be capitalized!
LOL.

why the fuck did they use a abs cbr fuckers? and about the daytona 6.....7......5... thats fucking 75cc more than all other bikes so it shouldn't even be here. I am actually surprised they didnt included a gxsr 750 to really fuck things up or a ducaty 884. Shit a 600cc class is just that 600cc. In the daytona they have to compensate with 75cc just to make up for the lack of technology in the motor what a shame! overall this review is all fuck all they way up!! but i like it .....not!
scavenom2008 2 years ago
the daytona is missing a cylinder, compensating with 75cc is ok
garyngwind 2 years ago 4
Do the math you ignorant. Three cylinders !! 25% less air/fuel mixture per RPM . Do you know what 4 stroke engine stands for?? Do you know how engine displacement is measured?
Excellent British accomplishment, 100% engineered and build in the UK

I am a Mechanical Engineer asshole and i know more than you will ever know in three life spans.
scavenom2008 2 years ago
Even if you have a degree in mechanical engineering, that still doesn't mean you're a subject matter expert on motorcycle performance. Don't let your feelings get hurt so easily, man.
MrRGray 2 years ago 18
You made me take pen and paper out. Alright I was wrong in stating less air/ fuel mixture per RPM. The overall mix is the same as half the engine capacity per RPN, so should be even regardless of number of cylinders however theres 25% less ignitions per rpm on either a heavier piston or a larger displacement . Both alternatives require more power waisted in moving the piston up and down at high RPN .
TheRoderick1980 2 years ago
Continues... Thats why the Daytona has better middle range but equivalent top end power to the Japanese bikes. Apologies for calling you ignorant. However this does not make the triple engine less advanced than the japanese It's simply a different configuration that also results on a more slim and compact bike . No manufacturer ( ducatti, Honda, Guzzi) has matched power and displacement with less cyclinders. I'm and Engineer as well.
TheRoderick1980 2 years ago
You should have all Ducatti championships taken away from them. FYI having a degree is not that impressive, try harder if you want to state you know more than what I will ever know in three life spans.
