I agree wholeheartedly. I watch it every time it's on cable.I've never seen the first one because it never seems to be on cable and I don't rent. Aren't movies like this supposed to be fun and entertaining? I would think that was the point after all. That's why the new one probably won't be good because it will take itself too seriously, like the new Clash of the Titans. I think it still holds up. I prefer Ray Harryhausen's stop motion special effects to the CGI.
