I watched sytycd for the first time this season and could not believe what a star Jamie could be. I felt he was done a bad turn on his elimination. What I do not understand about the show is who partnered everyone up and how they got the dance routine to dance and the style of dance?

I THINK that the producers or judges partner them up and they pick the style of dance they do out of a hat. Because I know once they hit the top 10 then they switch partners and pick the routines out of a hat.
