  • if he wasnt a prophet of god then how come ALL his prophecies came true?! he prophesied the exact date of the civil war, he prophesied about his death! he told his brother that if he went to jail he would surely die if he was a prophet of god. READ THE BOOK Of MORMON AND FIND OUT JUST LIKE ME.

  • @xSparky117x - good call!

  • So ALMA 7:10 doesn't refer to it as the land of Jerusalem but "Jerusalem the land of our forefathers." Big difference in my mind, the first is referring to an area, where as the second seems pretty specific.

  • When the people of the Book of Mormon quote Isaiah and the words are a little different from the Bible, the scrolls have matched the Book of Mormon while it shows the Bible being slightly off on the wording. Oh, there's a scroll of Alma. The Book of Mormon mentions a prophet, Zenock, that was stoned for teaching of the Messiah. The scrolls tell of an ancient prophet that was killed by the Jews for teaching of the Messiah and that's believed to be Zenock.

  • @majinish - Very well said... but knowing our luck, the Jews will say that his name was Zennick or some other derivative... and it will STILL not be enough evidence for the doubters.

  • @THELDSLIFE Yea I know. They're the type that wouldn't believe it if Christ were right in front of them and said He's Christ.

  • @THELDSLIFE Funny you should say that, since there was someone named "Zadok" who had a son who was driven out for teaching about the Messiah.

  • Miles was so touched by the story of Joseph Smith's First Vision he asked the elders to repeat it three times. "They probably thought, 'This guy can't retain anything,'" he said.

  • POCATELLO -- On Sept. 11, more than 10,000 members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will take part in Mormon Helping Hands service projects across Southern Idaho. More than 800 people alone will take part in the Pocatello area. Local LDS leaders, in partnership with county, city, school district and other community leaders will beautify and improve streets, parks, schools and other areas in their communities...

  • "I thought about the early members of the Church who sacrificed so much to do what the Lord asked them to do," Elder Costa said. "Joseph Beecroft was among a group of 700 saints who traveled by train from Boston to Iowa City. They began the journey in cattle cars, using their luggage for seats."

  • He spoke of the Book of Mormon accounts of Lehi and his family and of Alma the elder, Alma the younger, Amulek and Ammon, who left comfortable circumstances and took on challenges in compliance with the will of God. He also told of other scriptural figures, including Adam and Eve, Noah and David.

  • SALT LAKE CITY — At 9:30 sharp on Sunday morning, the cue is given and soft music caresses the Tabernacle: "Gently raise the sacred strain, for the Sabbath's come again, that man may rest, that man may rest."

  • For the next half-hour, the Tabernacle will be filled with the glorious sounds of "Music and the Spoken Word." And not only this building, but through the magic of radio, television and cable, the sounds will go out to fill the homes and buildings and centers served by about 2,000 stations around the country.

  • U.S. military men and women "help people and nations find their way into the democratic society of the global family of nations," President Uchtdorf said.

  • "Please know that we love and appreciate you and that we pray for you, and that we send our blessings for your safe return," President Uchtdorf told them. "This connection by Internet shows in some ways once more how much good the Internet can do."

  • In addition to the chapel congregation of more than 1,000, some two dozen personnel deployed in Iraq — where it was 3:30 a.m. — viewed the fireside proceedings live via the Skype service over the Internet. A live scene of those gathered in Iraq was displayed on a screen in the chapel throughout the meeting.

  • Great Work!!

  • @imtherealthing - what I find hilarious is that THIS has been around (the information has) for YEARS and yet people still persist that the BOM is not a true record. They attack it as an imperfect record but WHAT RECORD IS PERFECT? It's absolutely asinine to argue it's imperfections because Mormon and Moroni BOTH said that it would not be a perfect record.

  • @THELDSLIFE Also the fact that they say the Bible is the most correct while the scrolls prove the Bible have mistranslations while it goes hand and hand with the BoM. And for people that want to use the "copy" excuse, how could Joseph Smith copy the scrolls that aren't found til after he writes the BoM?

  • The dedicatory prayer was given by Elder Marlin K. Jensen, historian and recorder for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lt. Gov. Gregory Bell spoke; the invocation was offered by the Most Rev. Bishop John C. Wester, Roman Catholic bishop of Salt Lake City; there was music and other entertainment throughout the day

  • Pioneer Memorial Museum, which has stood proudly at the head of Main Street and across from the state Capitol for 60 years, is all about history and heritage. It's about helping us remember those who came before us and helped make this state the great state it is today, said Gov. Gary Herbert, who spoke at a dedicatory program and helped cut the ribbon Friday, as the museum was reopened after an extensive renovation.

  • Labor missionaries and young adults worked day and night to piece the mosaic together, concerned that they would not finish it in time for President McKay’s arrival. As a precaution, they had even bought a large tarp to cover the unfinished product. However, with the faith and hard work of many volunteers, the mosaic was finished within minutes of President McKay’s arrival on campus.

  • God’s universal fatherhood and love charges each of us with an innate and reverent acknowledgement of our shared human dignity. We are to love one another. We are to treat each other with respect as brothers and sisters and fellow children of God, no matter how much we may differ from one another.

  • @c48gl or because they do their research and find out that Joseph Smith was killed by mormons who didn't believe in polygamy, and that he made the entire book of abraham up from Egyptian Burial Documents. Kind of like finding one of those funeral pamphlets and 'translating it' (as he says in his Journal) and calling it a new testament of Jesus Christ.

  • "He's a natural leader," says Ahmad Corbitt, the Cherry Hill, N.J., stake president. "His counsel is wise, measured and inspired. He's a man of God who's very committed to the gospel and to his family."

  • During an off-the-air discussion about Tiger Woods with ESPN's Sal Paolantonio, Sikahema recited a quote from former LDS Church President David O. McKay: "No success can compensate for failure in the home."

  • @c48gl I DON'T REJECT THE BOOK OF MORMON BECAUSE I'M SCARED OF IT BEING DIFFERENT THAN NORMAL CHRISTIANITY .I REJECT BOM BECAUSE IT'S SATANIC.......

  • @c48gl - fear even on this wise is "taught by the precepts of men." and this is well documented in the BIble: "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men," Isaiah 29:13 - We know Isaiah means MANY things in his writings but one can possibly suggest also that it HAD something to do with men leading others astray based on fear.

  • hese are:

    * I know that God is our Heavenly Father and that he loves us._

    * I know that his Son Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer._

    * I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God, that he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ upon the earth, and translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God._

  • @omiolo - Very well said, my friend. This is something that ANYONE can know if they show forth an Honest Heart before the Lord.

  • @THELDSLIFE It shows how simple the Gospel of our Savior Jesus Christ really is.

  • @omiolo If you believed that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, you would be with the other FLDS leaders. It was the mormons that didn't believe in polygamy that killed Joseph Smith.. (ala.. YOU)

  • @windigo77 "you would be with the other FLDS leaders"

sounds like you are royally confused! How did you get to that point?

  • @omiolo not confused, just smarter than you. Joseph Smith had 30 wives. When the FLDS church says they are following the true teachings of Joseph Smith they are telling the truth.

  • @windigo77 - who were the other 3-6 wives of Joseph? Some records only show that he was married to 24... some say 27... who are the missing 3?

  • @THELDSLIFE Does it really matter in the end?

  • @omiolo I used to be a mormon, like hardcore up until I stumbled upon a few little gems that seriously demolished my faith. After I left the church, I learned how truly evil the church is when they began systematically destroying my life by spreading lies and gossip through the community. It's sick when an entire small town mormon community feels so threatened by a 15 year old kid that they would run him out of town, instead of listening to his message. Are you one of those ignorant people?

  • @windigo77 - it wouldn't be the first time that someones loses their faith over something little.

  • @THELDSLIFE How disgusting is it that a community of adults (30-50) would be so cold to purposefully fail and harass a 15 year old student because they received a memo from a seminary teacher stating that he had left the class. Let alone the disgusting behavior from the seminary teacher of issue a memo that stated it. Mormons disgust me by their bigoted ignorance and hatred for the truth. I was only 15 years old, screw them all.

  • @windigo77 - That's too bad. I'm sorry to hear that.

  • @THELDSLIFE Thank you Monroe, UT. A whole town of small minded assholes. I appreciate your condolences, and thanks for letting me rant.

  • @windigo77 - sometimes people just need to know that they are being listened to. Not everyone is looking to be fixed. And I almost find it funny that you mentioned Monroe. One of my best friends grew up there. Peter Sunderland... did you know the Sunderlands?

  • @THELDSLIFE That name doesn't sound familiar. hmm

I lived there most of my life up until my sophomore year when eventually I got too fed up with the harassment, mostly from a teacher/vice principle named Randy Madsen, who was kind of the instigator of it all, but I found out later they also had claws at the local community college too (snow college south now), and I had to deal with it there too (I was denied from their Business Program because of it), at least I'm free from it now.

  • @windigo77 - lol... and I thought all small towners knew each other... heh

  • @windigo77 "I used to be a mormon"

What does that even mean? Since we BOTH know you were NEVER **hardcore**.

  • Comment removed

  • @omiolo to be blunt, your kind of a jack-ass.

  • @windigo77 and YOU are a name caller!

  • @omiolo that I am. excuse me for being offended by your allegations that I wasn't a true believer in the LDS faith.

  • @omiolo There you go...hold Joseph Smith right up there with God & his son, Jesus. Praise the man!!! I'm trying to remember where in the NT it says, Watch for a great man coming, one every bit as important as Jesus (if not more), & he will bring forth additional gospel that I saw no need for my Son to teach, & when he comes, you can pretty much disregard the NT & what my Son sacrificed on the cross.

Makes me sick to my stomach.

  • @ChristianAmerican are you that EXODUS character? The SPIN would seem to indicate that.

  • @omiolo No. I really don't know how anyone has the time to have different accounts or try to pass themselves off as different "characters". However, if I was, it still doesn't change the fact that you are trying to belittle others & holding your "educated" self so much higher than others who don't agree with you. Address your behavior, & don't "SPIN" this into another topic please.

  • @ChristianAmerican "if I was,"

    yeah, IF you were....LOL

  • @omiolo Wow! You don't have a clue. Look at what you're choosing to focus on. At least others can read these back & forth postings...I wonder what kind of impression you're making on them?

I think we're done here if that is all you care to address about my comment.

  • @ChristianAmerican "I think we're done here"

I do NOT think you are done until that inner angst of yours disappears, and fighting against God will NOT rid you of it.

  • @omiolo If you had bothered to look down your "educated, enlightened" nose at me, you would see that I'm fighting for you- even though I have no clue who you are- to trust God's word. Trust Jesus. I see in all of your rambles that you don't mention Jesus. Hardly ever. You mention characters in the BOM all the time. Where have you placed Jesus in your life? Would you give up your religion for Jesus?

  • @ChristianAmerican "you would see that I'm fighting for you"

Jesus is ENOUGH for me. I do NOT need you! Nice try though!

  • @ChristianAmerican You implied that mormons are uneducated, and asked them to "give up their religion for Jesus." That shows how uneducated u are, and the true nature of anti-Mormon activists: asking a religious denomination whose name is "the church of Jesus Christ" to give up their faith for Jesus? How more stupid can you get?

  • @LDSfaithDefender - they have barely begun to show their ignorance... they have yet to perpetuate their atheistic methods under the guise of "Mainstream Christianity" for we know that TRUE Christianity had NEVER EVER EVER been MAINSTREAM! What the saints of old fought to keep alive and died as faithful martyrs would be turning over in the grave TODAY if they would be told that their religion was mainstream ... EVER! Because we all know that even Christ himself suffered at the hands of ignorance

  • SALT LAKE CITY — Often it is the small decisions that become the turning points in life.

"These are the times you want to be spiritually alert and worthy. Decisions you make now will affect many, many years of your life," Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles said to a group of young adults during a fireside at the Salt Lake Institute of Religion on Sunday.

  • Elder Andersen: Small decisions often become turning points in life

  • Writing and arranging the orchestral music was possible because Holyoak has the gift of perfect pitch, so she can hear exactly the note she wants in a piece of music.

She majored in music in college and has taught music for 35 years. She also plays handbells, the piano and the organ. So writing music for a variety of instruments isn't entirely foreign to her. She has also consistently written music for the annual LDS Music Competition.

  • But she's game, and she trusts the Lord to help her with such challenges.

"When I was asked to take on this assignment, I was overwhelmed," Holyoak said. "It was enormous, but everything just fell into place."

  • "This youth program was a mighty change for me," said Augustine Momoh, of Abeokuta 3rd Branch. "It changed me from secluding myself to mixing with youth from other areas of the Church."

  • Enyi Chiji, the drama director for the Aba, Nigeria, cast, embraced this concept. Brother Chiji organized a pen pal system to connect the youth from several stakes and districts for the months of rehearsals. Letters included words of encouragement such as those written by Joy to Juliet, "Be strong and of good courage. Be not afraid. Stand firm in the faith for the Lord will be with you." The young people were able to meet their pen pals at the performance.

  • Youth in Accra, Ghana, portray the people of Jerusalem in the Book of Mormon during a production that included participants from seven countries in West Africa.

  • Very nice!

  • As always, thank you.

  • It is also interesting that the word "coinage" appears in the chapter heading of Alma 11, which was written by Joseph Smith, but not in the text of the chapter. Coinage was foreign to the Israelites at that time.

  • Go Josh! And I love the song choice.

  • @meyersonfire - lol... and I was going for something "Middle-Eastern" for music but just did not connect up with it.

  • With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

  • @flyingfishsurf

You mean like Muslims flying airplanes into buildings? Or is your hate just directed towards the LDS?

  • Scary days for the Godless hypocrites. One by one the anti-Mormon's ammunition is vanishing.

Next, they will resort to slinging mud at us as members and at Joseph Smith.......oh wait, already happening.

  • @DrPorterRockwell Hang tight with me, Brother

  • Sephuskal -- you say: -- "Can you tell me about spiritual things? Then I can't tell you either. " No one has asked you to tell them spiritual things. And I don't believe that most of these youtube videos explaining truths about the Mormon church are trying to tell anyone "spiritual truths". Mormons are so imprinted with the idea that they must "teach others the truth" that it's hard to see that some people are interested in presenting documented facts, and letting them speak for themselves.

  • @Suzyqalso You didn't read ex's response to me well enough then. he said "surely there must be something to support your claims other than a confirmation bias & a warm fuzzy." Meaning that Spiritual confirmations from the Holy Ghost is sufficient to know when God has spoken to your heart.

If he doesn't understand the gifts of the spirit, then nothing I tell him about such gifts will be understood by him. There fore it becomes pearls cast before swine.

  • @Suzyqalso Correction *insufficient not sufficient. I apologize.

  • @Suzyqalso “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned”

  • @Suzyqalso The Lord knew that those who were sincere in heart and who really wished to know the mysteries of the kingdom would seek and search prayerfully until they informed themselves.

  • @wtalady Where did you find this information at in the Bible? You are speaking for the Lord, so be specific.

  • @ChristianAmerican Did I address you? I don't remember doing so. Please refresh my memory so that I may address your question.

  • @wtalady No, you were addressing Suzyqalso & said "the Lord knows who really wished to know the 'mysteries' of the kingdom & they would seek & search until THEY INFORMED THEMSELVES". As you can see, I have a problem with informing ourselves. I think God will inform us, however that's just picking at words. What I would like to know is where you found this in the Bible about God & the mysteries of the kingdom.

  • @ChristianAmerican I don't have to find an exact Bible verse to express that God knows everything. He is all knowing and seeing and knows everything about us including the righteous desires of our hearts. He says he knows even the amount of hairs on our head and that's enough for me isn't it for you? God does know who will do his will and who won't and who will follow his teachings and who won't. There's nothing he doesn't know.

  • @wtalady What I was asking about was the mysteries of the universe part. How do you know God is so concerned with us learning the mysteries of the kingdom? Where do you find that? When you bring up a concept like that, that has really nothing to do with God knowing the number of hairs on our heads (Which IS in the Bible), you need to be able to back that up. Show where in the world that came from!!!

  • @ChristianAmerican - Eph. 3: 3-4, 9, Col. 1: 26-27

  • @THELDSLIFE Exactly! Jesus was the mystery! Col 1:25-27 (Paul) I have become its servant by the commission that God gave me to presentto you the word of God IN ITS FULLNESS-THE MYSTERY that has been kept hidden for ages & generations, but NOW is disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of THIS MYSTERY, which is CHRIST in you, the hope of glory.

  • @THELDSLIFE Eph 3 talks about the same mystery, which was God's plan that was revealed through Jesus Christ.

I encourage you to read & re-read Ephesians because it cannot be MORE clear of the FULL gospel through Jesus Christ. It goes on to say...'and to grasp how wide & long & high & deep is the love of Christ, & to know this love that SURPASSES KNOWLEDGE- that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. '

  • @THELDSLIFE The whole reason I brought this up is bc I used to be Mormon! I know Joseph Smith & your religion focuses on all the "mysteries" that will be revealed only to those who believe in the BOM & the Mormon faith. Read your Bibles!!! Not JS's version of the bible, not only LDS apologetics verses, but the whole NT, over & over!

  • @THELDSLIFE Thank you for commenting on that..I appreciate the kindness.

  • @ChristianAmerican I guess I didn't realize what exactly you were asking but Theldslife has been kind enough to answer that.

The more you study the more of the mysteries are revealed

  • @Suzyqalso Someone has imprinted you with erroneous information, I see, as I know that NO true convert has been "imprinted". Loving, giving people will share what they have when they know they have something wonderful.

  • WOW! Thanks Theldslife, for the interesting information. I appreciate knowing that info like this is coming to light and supports the Book of Mormon of course we knew it was true anyway because we are blessed to have the companion from the Holy Ghost as a witness to us. Blessings to you.

  • @wtalady Nice to a see a sister who can shout just as loud as any Son of Thunder. Keep up the fight.

  • @Sephuskal You made my day dear brother! :o) God Bless you with that still small voice of peace.

  • This video is so easy to understand, so clear an true, but only for those who dont harden their hearts against the truth. Like the Book of Mormon: If we search with a faithful heart, we will find and recognize the truth, wherever it can be found. But we must pray and have faith in Jesus Christ. That is the key. Thank you for this true video.

  • @Juengerchristi I don't know you but I love thine faith. Keep up the fight.

  • Excellent video! I visit Jeff Lindsay's site sporadically. There is quite a lot of great material there.

  • In the meantime, the Utah CEO and his wife, Stephanie, as active members of the Mormon Church, now prepare to take on a personal journey of faith leaving June 28 for Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia to serve as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-Day Saints. Mecham will be president of the mission and Stephanie will assist in full-time work for a two year stint.

  • Very nice.

  • On Saturday, September 11, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints partnered with Mount Olive Historic Preservation Society in an effort to clean Mount Olive Cemetery. More than 365 volunteers worked 937 man hours to mulch walking paths, remove debris and downed trees, unearth hidden headstones, as well as building a bridge across a ravine.

  • Many thanks go out to all of the volunteers, along with the other agencies that assisted in making this day a huge success, including The Academy for Keener Minds, Alpha Phi Alpha alumni, American Red Cross, Austin Peay State University,

  • woot! game over anti LDS critics!

  • Score one for Smith et al. I agree that this is a bad argument against the validity of the BoM, as Bethlehem is very close to Jerusalem and could be considered a suburb of sorts. Everyone does this by using a larger more well-known city to let folks unfamiliar with the area to know where they are from. However, believers must contend with the many, many things which are absurd and incorrect in the text; from anachronisms to the King James Bible translation errors to the use of Greek names..

  • ..for BoM peoples and places etc. If you want to play this game, then you must accept ALL of the words in the text, not just those that give you a “bull’s-eye.”

Here are just a few anachronisms that believers must address: Isaiah & Esaias, Church & synagogue, Bible, Christ the Messiah, KJV mistranslations: Steel, Compass, Glass Windows, The Tower of Babel, "virgin" - 2 Nephi 17:14 = Isaiah 7:14, "Lucifer" - 2 Nephi 24:12 = Isaiah 14:12

  • Greek names in the BoM: Antipas, Antipus, Archeantus, Ezias, Jonas, Judea, Alpha and Omega, Timothy, Zenos, Angola. Isabel the Harlot (French name from the middle ages.)

In light of these and many other valid challenges to the Book of Mormon's text, the Bethlehem/Jerusalem “bull’s-eye” is reduced to nothing more than a lucky-guess.

  • @ExmormonFoundation - wow, he really landed that quarter on it's edge; knowing about 600 B.C. terminology on how to name the holy land precisely how Jeremiah did it. Indeed.

  • @ExmormonFoundation Isabel is a variation of Y'o Shved. Nice try.

  • @mormonmilitia

    Whew! Testimony safe.

  • @ExmormonFoundation - yup, this one's an easy one. Nephi had the "Brass Plates" which he transcribed onto his own record. Hence: he wrote the words of Isaiah down. Why? Because Nephi was related to the house of Israel and had a vested interest in the words of Isaiah.

  • @THELDSLIFE

Umm, then he "translated" & included the mistakes of the KJV translation as well. Don't you see that this is a BIG red flag regarding the BoM's veracity? Why would the "most correct book on earth" contain these same translation errors of the KJV? Wouldn't big Elohim want to correct the errors instead of adding them to such a "special" & "significant" work? Hmmm, Elohim sure likes to make this book look as unauthentic as possible. He's such a trickster! Or maybe it's just a farce.

  • @ExmormonFoundation "Christ the Messiah"

I can not find that phrase in the BOM, maybe you have a different one?

  • @omiolo Let me help you out. This is a long reply, but I assure you a worthwhile one. Not many people are aware of the fact that the word "Messiah" is used in the King James Translation of the Old Testament only twice: in chapter 9 of the book of Daniel (written in the second century B.C.). The Greek transliteration ("Messias") of this Hebrew word is used only twice in the New Testament, in the Gospel of John (1:41 and 4:25).

  • The Hebrew word which gives us the term "messiah" is 'mashiach,' meaning literally "[the] anointed [one]" and is used 47 times in the Hebrew Old Testament, in reference to all anointed persons: priests, kings, etc. It is only relatively late in Hebrew literature that it came to have the additional special meaning of the yet-to-come anointed king of the house of David who was expected to appear and free the Jews from foreign domination and establish God's kingdom forever on earth,...

  • ...and thus also end the world as we know it. Usually in the New Testament, which was written in Greek, the Hebrew word 'mashiach' is translated into Greek with the Greek word which means "anointed": 'christos', and that Greek word is usually not translated into English, but only transliterated (anglicized), as "Christ," with a capital letter. One of the fundamental teachings of Christianity, of course is that Jesus was that promised Messiah (or "anointed [king]").

  • ]"). In the Greek of the New Testament, of course, he was referred to as "Jesus the Anointed One" ('Iesous ho christos'), which in Hebrew or Aramaic would be something like "Ieshua ha mashiach." Now, when we look at the Book of Mormon (supposedly translated from Hebrew written in "Reformed Egyptian"), we find that the term "Messiah" occurs about 25 times. The term "Christ" occurs about 317 times. Several questions arise: What is the difference, for the Book of Mormon author(s), ...

  • between the Hebrew word "messiah" and the Greek word "Christ"? (Especially when Joseph Smith insisted that there were no Greek words in the Book of Mormon.) Why is the Hebrew word used sometimes, but the Greek word at other times? Remember, these authors are supposedly Jews who knew no Greek! Were there two different Nephite (i.e. "Reformed Egyptian") words in the original text, one to be translated as "Messiah" and the other as "Christ"?

  • If so, what was the difference in their meaning, and what was their origin?

The confusion is compounded in 2 Nephi 25:19, where Nephi writes: “For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah cometh in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem; and according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God.”

  • Putting aside for the moment the question "What Old Testament prophets said that the messiah would be named Jesus Christ?" we would like to ask what this passage must have looked like in "Reformed Egyptian," since it is translating two occurrences of the same word ("the anointed one") in different ways, one with the Greek word "Christ" and one with the Hebrew word "Messiah." Why?

  • Another question is why Nephi would think that the word "Christ" is a "name"! It is not a name, even though many Sunday School children think of it as a name ("Jesus Christ was the son of Joseph Christ and Mary Christ"). It is a title. This passage is like saying "The name of the Father of our country was President Washington."

  • Whoever wrote the Book of Mormon seemed to have Greek and Hebrew words at his disposal, but he did not understand their meaning. Does that sound like God? Or Nephi? Or Joseph Smith?

Hmmmm. That is a quandary indeed!

  • @ExmormonFoundation - many things are possible with a translated record. sometimes other influenced words seem to end up as part of English. Sometimes I even drop an "Hombre" or two when I'm speaking with others. If the definition of Hombre seemed to MORE fit what Mormon or Moroni was trying to say, then I'm sure Joseph may have chosen that one while in the translation process. But who am I kidding. You're one of those faithless, godless people who just hope this isn't true, right?

  • @THELDSLIFE

You are simply grasping at straws of plausibility in order to maintain a belief in a demonstrable fraud. It is very simple, if Mormonism is what it claims to be, the evidence would support Mormon claims. There would be no need for apologetics, or absurd videos such as this. The evidence would simply be overwhelming on the side of Mormon claims, yet the opposite continues to be proven correct. Evidence my dear Mormon is the key, not hyperbole and aspersions.

    Evidence is the key.

  • @ExmormonFoundation

"And now as I said concerning faith—faith is not to have a perfect knowledge of things; therefore if ye have faith ye hope for things which are not seen, which are true." Alma 32:21

It's apparent that "Faith" is not a gift you have YET to receive.

Just because you don't believe in the revelations that have come since the days of Moses doesn't mean they're not true. Even if I chose not to believe in them, it wouldn't make me more correct to follow your hypothesis about it.

  • @THELDSLIFE

Just because you don't believe in the revelations of Muhammad & L. Ron Hubbard does not mean that they are not true. Perhaps Islam is the one true religion? Or maybe Scientology is actually on to something with Lord Xenu? Perhaps you should do more research & see if the claims of your religion are actually real & not the imaginings of a backwoods charlatan.

p.s. Faith is a bridge from the known to the unknown, not to cover-up & ignore the known. Such is not faith but delusion.

  • @ExmormonFoundation - you can't wrap yourself in the banner of everything as it suits you to suggest that none should believe in anything. You're an atheist through and through and I know that. It's not a hard call to make. The void of nothingness awaits so live it up and enjoy life. In case I and others are correct, don't look to the left or the right to find someone to blame. Life is about taking responsibility for decisions. Who will you blame when there's no one but you to answer for things?

  • Ah, but I am responsible. I left Mormonism following a thorough & responsible study. I took charge of myself instead of allowing others to lead me in action and thought. This argument is not about me, it is about the veracity of Mormon claims. You can believe whatever you like, but the moment you begin to claim that something is real, you had better be able to support your claims. If Mormonism is real, then you should have no problems do so. It is the great galactic "truth" after all right?

  • @ExmormonFoundation - the difference between you and me is I did not look to the right or the left... I looked upward. And at ONE point in your life, you actually once relied upon the Lord. But when men look to the left or the right, they will have opinions which vary from a witness of truth from the Lord. In 1 John 5:9, one of the Lords Apostles says, "If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater." - The danger lies therein when people rely 100% on what man may say.

  • @THELDSLIFE

Keep telling yourself things like this. I'm sure with enough "magic" words, you will be able to keep yourself completely ensconced in a non-examined, non-questioned, non evidenced based mental dream-world indefinitely. It's very simple, if Mormonism is what it claims to be, the evidence for those claims should be everywhere. Please support your claims, otherwise you offer nothing more than empty hyperbole. It really is that simple.

    Evidence is the key.

  • @ExmormonFoundation - why do you even make it about Mormonism? Why make the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the poster child for your Atheism? You are anti God. Anti- Christ... Anti- Anything established religion but you'll use arguments such as, "What about the Buddhists? Hindus? Scientology?" when it's a mute point. Why not be honest with the world and create a nice, honest You Tube which says you are unconvinced of ANYTHING religion and quit making it about the Mormon Church?

  • @THELDSLIFE

Why are you so troubled by what I believe or do not believe? The argument is not about me, but about Mormon claims. You are foisting a Mormon claim upon the world through this and other videos. I am simply countering you with a call for evidence to support said claims. If Mormonism is what it claims to be, then you should be able to support your claims. It really is that simple oh defender. The sheer lack of evidence should be troubling, but not for the mind of the believer.

  • @ExmormonFoundation Either you believe in Christ or you don't my friend. Give me one example in the Bible where Christ required proof to believe on him?

Rather he stated to the doubting Thomas, "Blessed are those who believe and have NOT SEEN."

Christ never wrote any of his own scriptures, he never had any monuments made to him, he never did anything but allegedly walk the earth and redeem mankind. I know he did this but I have no physical proof to justify my belief in him.

  • @Sephuskal

Then you offer nothing different than the Scientologist, the Muslim, the Raelian or the Moonie. If your claims are real, then surely there must be something to support your claims other than a confirmation bias & a warm fuzzy. Perhaps Zeus or Osiris or Ganesh or Mithras are the correct deities? How do you know that Dionysus is not really your god? Perhaps you stand in judgment of Anubis even now for worshiping a false god?

    Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

  • The conformation of the Holy Ghost is quite real, & I am ashamed to admit that I don't seek it every single day, but none the less know that God does not speak through tornado's through Hurricanes, tsunami's fires floods or genocide's, but rather his voice is often most heard after the aftermath, as a still small voice of calming peace. To call it a 'Warm fuzzy" is to grossly understate the truth of his communication to us. Can you tell me about spiritual things? Then I can't tell you either.

  • @Sephuskal

Ah, would that be the same spirit which told the Lafferty Brothers to kill a woman and her baby in cold blood? Or is that the same spirit which convinced you that Porter Rockwell was a decent fellow as he gunned down those who Brigham needed to be "used up?" or is it that same spirit which convinced the Moonie that Rev. Moon is actually the Messiah? Or is it the same spirit which convinced the Muslim to fly planes into buildings? Hmmm, that "spirit" really gets around.

  • @ExmormonFoundation Since Evil is defined as anything that kills harms enslaves or destroys, the lafferty's bundy's or any others like them hearken not to Gods Spirit do they.

Knowing what Orin Porter Rockwell went through at the hands of bigots like your self, I hold no ill thought towards the Man. He was true to the end. Unlike the other prideful wretch. Unlike you. Who ever has anger towards me, it's unmatched because it's not of God. I seek his favor not yours. You should try it sometime.!

  • So bigotry now applies to anyone who questions Mormon claims? Interesting definition. As far as the other examples of folks following the "spirit" they too thought that the divine was speaking to them, so how do you know that they didn't hear a divine call to do what they did? Or were the voices & warm fuzzies in their minds in error because they were not the voices & warm fuzzies you claim to experience? How does one tell the difference? Why would they be considered nuts and you sane? Hmmm..

  • p.s. Do you think Porter felt the "spirit" as he gunned folks down for Brigham? Funny, but I seemed to have missed that lesson in gospel doctrine. "Go ye there forth and gun down thy enemies. For I the Lord am sick and tired of people questioning my church's motives and the leaders therein. Go ye there forth and gun them down." Seems to be miles apart from turning one's cheek and forgiving seventy times seven. But what do I know, I'm a godless bigot. Oh well. I'm sure his hair was lovely.

  • Name a scripture and I can bet you its man not God condoning it. As for Porter he watched his people butchered and imprisoned, and self defense is not murder. The majority of his fights happened when he was sherriff in Deseret any way.

  • @Sephuskal

Have you actually read the Old Testament? Well for one, you're taking parental advice from a deity who murdered his own children & all life on the planet save for eight humans & a boat-load of animals, insects, fish, bacteria & viruses through a global deluge. Gen. 6-7 (such did not happen, but if you believe the Bible literally as Mormons do, then this is your "father.") Take a good look in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, etc. No wonder Mormons are afraid.

  • @ExmormonFoundation No!!! The Old testament what is that!!!!?

  • @ExmormonFoundation Just curious, but why do you care? What is your point? If we are happy as Members of the Church, what is your problem with that? The fact that you're so confrontational about it is rather suspect, at least to me.

  • @PlaymateMama - Misery loves company. The more the merrier.

  • @PlaymateMama

Again, this is not about me, it is about Mormon claims. Your personal happiness or that of any other Mormon is not germane to the discussion regarding Mormon claims.

  • @Sephuskal Well said.

  • @DefendingMormonism Thank you dear Brother. stand ye in holy places and keep up the fight. I have your back with Colt Draggoon and Saber against the anti Christs.

  • @Sephuskal

You anti-Zeusists are all alike. Even now his anger is kindled against you.

  • @ExmormonFoundation "...but the moment you begin to claim that something is real, you had better be able to support your claims." You "better" be able to support your claims? Wow.

  • @PlaymateMama

Don't let the arrogance surprise you with Chad demanding us to back up our claims for he knows the truth. His insecurities become very obvious and always desperate.

We all know why apostates really leave the Lord's Church for we have Sunday School lessons on the exact reasons with the same patterns and like all of the miserable apostates in the last 180 + years, they claim they left because of the "doctrine".

Chad here, is of course an exception to the rule.

  • @DrPorterRockwell - if it really were anything but NOT having the gospel of Christ being "Born-Within" the individual, it would be easier to say but in ALL cases, this is what it mostly is. I'm not talking about the "WARM FUZZY" feeling... I'm talking about people wanting "ETERNAL LIFE" just as much as they desire "Oxygen." and this comes in MANY forms of quitting. Many are called and few are chosen and this is in LARGE part because they TOO have given ultimate space for the cares of the world.

  • @DrPorterRockwell

I'm the arrogant one? I am not claiming to know the secrets of the universe, Mormons are. By your reply you have indicated that Mormon claims are simply off limits to scrutiny. How dare anyone question or challenge Mormon claims! It's the truth! Hmmm, that does sound a bit arrogant if you ask me. if you have the secret understanding of it all, please let us know how we can verify your claims.

p.s. I liked you better as Captain Cutler of the Galactic Truth Squad.

  • @ExmormonFoundation

Chad, take a chill pill, no need to get all worked up over youtube.

We know who you really are and despite your constant whine, the Lord and His Church will never be held accountable to miserable apostates like yourself and the wicked world.

The Lord is above scrutiny and if you don't like it, tough! Go whine to someone who actually cares.

Maybe you also can go and make a profitable anti-Mormon organization for fellow apostates. Lots of money in that field, right Chad?
