This is in my top 5 of northern tunes,, how can you keep your feet still to this,, was dancing to thsi at the twisted knee, wigan the other week. Thanks for sharing
I some times forget when i'm posting on other tunes just what a massive Torch sound this was, blew my mind away then, blows my mind away now, fantastic!
great sound soulfan3 a great n soul song realy gets yer feet going sadly not played at york nsoul does much going to get some stik for this they seem to try and outdo one another playing slow stuff no ones ever erd of and sliding round the dance floor like slugs ha ha
Fkin absolutely love this and worshipped it in the late 70's. always requested it and always waited on it being played. this truely is a great love of my life! AN ALL TIME ALL NIGHTER CLASSIC.
I only went to the torch about half a dozen times but it was enough to hook me for life and this is one of the Torch tunes that did it, always love N/S, seriously.
I've loved this record ever since it came out on the "Soul on the Rocks" LP.. I'm 60 now and I have gone through lots of musical likes and dislikes over the years but I have to say this is my favourite record of all time.I keep a copy on mp3 in my car and whenever I play it it always gets rave reviews from my passengers and they can't believe it's 50 years old.
Danced to this song with my girlfriend in a funky club in southampton(The birdsnest) back in the early 70s i was working down there.we got a standing ovation magic memories.
Awesome track, remembers dancing at home to this b4 i managed to get my hands on any nighter vinyl, still got the original album i found this track on,who says vinyl doesn't last; amuses me when i see all these so called 'mint' condition 30/50 yr records for sale, lol cos as anyone knows who has them, we didn't keep them to look at! Does anyone else remember how many had very precious vinyl where one side was covered in tape holding it together? Many cos of angry parents lol
I remember puttin this disc on at the broadfiled hotel sheffield as a DJ way way back when the earth was young...and they just didnt know what to make of it
Who can compete with the Isley's today?... I was 16 in 1966 and the Isley's were just as important and influential as The Beatles/Stones/Hendrix etc. They were worshipped by the teenagers of those days in England.. Does anyone have any live footage of them performing that they could post?
