I like CoH:OF because it's an anti noob/spammer game, I like games that actually makes you THINK to win, not carelessly massing a single type of unit and what not, this game is great in that aspect.

actually this game takes much less brain power to win. one must know good tackticks to have the most effectiveness, but that is all. its very easy, other games like warcraft 3and empire earth are much more difficult.

It's a stand alone. Owning the first one adds in all the original content including missions and the original factions but you don't need it to play the new expansion. The patches are kind of a bitch but they all add upgrades and features that inevitably make it more fun.

tales of valor is this but short 3 mission campains 3 of em and you can if you have the others select the missions from tales of valor but not much diffrents all that happens is no bugs hope this helps

There is never a perfecto strategy, every strategy you can think of can be ruined and could cause you to lose the game. It is a very fun game because of all the variables that will decide what makes you push your enemy around and get pushed yourself. I say push, because you can always make a comeback if you make a bad mistake.
Good review except for the ''not for the unintelligent'' comments, you even said it yourself, it's basically a rock paper scissors dynamic in this game, and it's that simple and RTS games have been like that for years. What makes this game is the great campaign and how it feels really polished, it really isn't at all complicated. Just send afew snipers in to scout, then mortar the hell out of their base whilst sending in backup.

They're not overpowered in my opinion. It's just many axis players lack the knowledge of how to effectively counter british strategies. The Wehrmacht played right can make the brits cry.
I feel that Axis is the best team to play as. The German and the British factions is two totally different and they need to be handled differently. The German is most "Build fast, flank, take the roads with heavy armor and kill". You can beat an hard computer at 25 minutes, but you really have to work slowly with the allied ones. You need to set up MGs, mortars, Heavy artillery and such to kill the axis fast paced army. In the end, the british will win as they control the waves of axis attacks
You don't need to be smart to play COH but just practical. This is not AOE or warcraft where u send everyone and win. It's basically real life situations, and thats why COH is the best, and will remain the best RTS for the next 2-3 years.
I disagree on the bofors though, useless later in the game.

yeah i had that problem. its the fact that it dosnt mention that opposeing fronts is a stand alown pack. all you need to do is uninstall both of them and install opposeing fronts by its self, then it will work perfectly

You mention intelligence but you forget about learning through errors.
The key with playing the Panzer Elite is flanking. With infantry use the panzergrenadier units with the long range guns upgrade and use the slow down skill. Then take your assault grenadiers to flank the bastard.
There are many such tactics with the Panzer Elite although flanking is the key. Oh and don't forget incindiary's.
You don't need to have an IQ of 150 as long as you are interested in learning the game.

its a standalone expansion, so you dont need the orginal, and in my opinion opposing fronts is the best of the 3 coh's

Starcraft require a high level skill of control, it is about how fast you can control you units or stuff
I think in this video what he means 'brain power' is grand strategy, which is very important in CoH.
Starcraft require more skill to be good at, while CoH need more startegic thinking to be good at.

They're not overpowered in my opinion. It's just many axis players lack the knowledge of how to effectively counter british strategies. The Wehrmacht played right can make the brits cry.

I feel that Axis is the best team to play as. The German and the British factions is two totally different and they need to be handled differently. The German is most "Build fast, flank, take the roads with heavy armor and kill". You can beat an hard computer at 25 minutes, but you really have to work slowly with the allied ones. You need to set up MGs, mortars, Heavy artillery and such to kill the axis fast paced army. In the end, the british will win as they control the waves of axis attacks

You don't need to be smart to play COH but just practical. This is not AOE or warcraft where u send everyone and win. It's basically real life situations, and thats why COH is the best, and will remain the best RTS for the next 2-3 years.
I disagree on the bofors though, useless later in the game.

yeah i had that problem. its the fact that it dosnt mention that opposeing fronts is a stand alown pack. all you need to do is uninstall both of them and install opposeing fronts by its self, then it will work perfectly

You mention intelligence but you forget about learning through errors.
The key with playing the Panzer Elite is flanking. With infantry use the panzergrenadier units with the long range guns upgrade and use the slow down skill. Then take your assault grenadiers to flank the bastard.
There are many such tactics with the Panzer Elite although flanking is the key. Oh and don't forget incindiary's.
You don't need to have an IQ of 150 as long as you are interested in learning the game.
