but still i'd rather have a real truck based SUV that can go through snow, dirt, mud, ditches, over rocks, fallen trees and is overall generaly more durable and less costly to repair then a car based station wagon with AWD.

that's a steel for a great deal :D you gotta inspect the truck first though. my moms 06 blazer has had some electrical issues but nothing overly magor. the ignition switch went out which made it go haywire but that's all

3 weeks ago, my 2002 TB was hit on I95 by a tractor trailer and was pushed into the concrete divider at 50 mph. It was a total loss but I walked away with only a sprained thumb. I purchased another Trailblazer yesterday. It's a safe SUV.

the only reason i buy the newer cars, is because in older cars the side curtains dont deploy, the drivers head heads the rear post...but this happens on all cars, not just this one. pause at :05-:06 to see what i mean

It looks to me like it did better (structurally) than most SUVs do. It must be something in the footwell tha we are not seeing.

It has decent ratings. I like the Trailblazer.

The plus sides are, the passenger area had very little deformation. "A" pillar almost perfectly intact, roof/florr flex very minamal, and driver door perfectly intact. Negatives are, air bag fired to late. Should have fired at 1.5 seconds into the video not 2.5, the drivers wheel traveled to far into the body, bet there was floor deformation which can lead to injury in all parts related to legs, and the drivers head hits "B" pillar (wouldnt have with proper curtain airbags).
