  • Blofeld kck your ass!!!!!!!

  • Have watched this a few times: sheer, brilliant fun. This is what one does with synthesizers. And the video is a work of art, as well, bravo!

  • @realtrance Totally agree :)

  • can you explain the S and M a little more. I'm considering the Blofeld KB, interested in how its working with an external midi device...I have a tetra?!

the other KB im considering is an Ultranova.

  • u r mental

  • even today i cant believe its posibilities... im so happy with it -

  • 01:29 It's Portal 2!

  • these sounds are amazing, have you been doing it long ? how did you learn ?

  • @metalsinani From what I can gather from his website, he's been programming synths since he was a kid.

  • Only the Muppet show with Japanese dubbing could compete with this.

  • cooooooooool

  • Do you like drugs?

  • @Gray2Serge Do you like Yourself?

  • - 10:01 patch strikes lot of Q patches - Blofeld generaly as a synth is perfect, metal sound~have not bad words to say.

  • Hahaha take it easy garett im just joking and i was refering to trent reNor not jexus

  • @parosite

    amsory, beavis

  • I have allways hated the waldorf so much, it sounds thin and digital. But today I realised how friggin awesome it sounds... Its a digital mayhem. I really like its special charasteristics and unique sound.

  • @thejonlord yeah! i personally owned a microwave for some time and i'm kind of sad cos there were so many possibilities with it and really clean sound! i can only notice some aliasing by the blofeld in the very high notes as in many digital synthesizers, but the versatitlity of the waldorfs' really seems strikig to me and they really have a (kind of harsh sometimes, but in a good way) sound of their own.... .-)

  • its such a pitty they didnt did a better UI for the KB version... it would of been GREAT to have a knob per function... maybe not soo much detailed, as this has a lot of stuff... but maybe 5 or 6 assignable knobs per section

  • This reminds me of the demo he did for the Korg Polysix. Similar styles and great fun with the arpeggiator. Nice pads too. Great demo.

  • Trent Reznor is a fucking poofy bisexual .. I dont hear any of that in his playing

  • @parosite

poofy (what?) what ? Get sum ears then.

  • 0:42 till 0:59 is my fav part

  • like that synth, nice demo

  • 04:17 !!!!!!

  • got lucky on ebay and scored one for only $650 mint!

  • the "desktop" version of this synth has exacly the same sounds that this one?

  • @AlexisNembrode yes it does but there is memory for samples which the keyboard has as default (im not sure if new desktop ones have this now) but there is an upgrade option available if not.

  • Totally lovin' 5:02 & 5:40 :)

  • This video is retro. Digging it!

  • 3:13

    Doggy style (slide)

  • I'm no gay, but I love you man... you sick

  • I think I fell in love... Again. Getting the Q Keyboard in a few days with a Mirage Soundsystem. Should be good, looking at these I wonder though. I've heard mixed reviews on the Q and the Blofeld. Maybe get both? I'm thinking the Blofeld Desktop Module, what do you guys know about that? I'll keep researching. Any experiences? Great video, beautiful, and haunting, and downright frightening at times. Perfect.

  • damn you! ever time i watch one of your demos i want to buy that synth!

  • 7:48 =)

    8:14 =) =)

    10:02 =) =) =)

  • whats the name of the patch @ 5:45 ?

  • @felmoe

"All sounds & arpeggio lines programmed by WC Olo Garb."

  • Whats the external midi device?

  • Fav arpeggio part at 3:54. Wicked

  • somebody hire this guy!!!

this is the best synth demo i''ve heard/seen since i started in this game..('87)

  • love your demos and the crazy edits

  • Could you send me the patch playing at 34 seconds, it sounds AWESOME !!! :D

  • Hellow i just purchased a blofeld and i am running off of logic. now i have my midi out of my sound card to the midi in of the blofeld as well as the stereo outs going to inputs 1 and 2 of my sound card. The problem is i cannot get any sound to come out of my blofeld i have a midi track made set to ch 1 and a audio track on stereo set to ch 1 and 2 with the "I" selected , still cannot get sound yet the midi light on the Blofeld lights up every time i hit a key on my midi keyboard. What do i do?

  • @brandontripz Have you tried using the Blofeld's usb connection in Logic's midi preferences? I use it in Ableton.

  • @brandontripz if you've still got the problem and haven't contacted a midi pro yet: synths have to be set up to run with a sequencer. most should work automatically but sometimes you have to set it up. you decide whether you want the synth to accept input from 1 channel or all 16 (usually all 16 if you're using midi to multitrack), also you decide what the synth does when it receives midi info (play sound or pass thru) to prevent some synths from trying to play double notes.

  • @nimrodery but that usb thing is probably a better option 'cause midi has limitations.

  • Hey, very nice demo, thanks a lot...

I'm thinking about buying one to complete the sound panel of my Korg R3, that is not very performant for pads, strings, etc. I usually use for leads, bass and some FXs.

What do you think about it ?

The Blofeld sounds cold, even metallic sometimes and it could create a good couple I guess...

  • @w3colond I had an R3 for a brief period and I recall it had a rather different sound... I now have a Waldorf mQ wich is very similar to blofeld, I think it sounds beefier than the R3 and also can sound über metallic if that's what you want, you can even play just pure wavetables and make it sound as metallic as you desire.

  • @w3colond IMHO the waldorf mQ strings (at least with pwm and saw oscs) sound beautyful and powerful.

  • @w3colond anyway I'd take a look at the Akai Miniak, wich is a more powerful Alesis ION in disguise and goes for short money new.

  • its minimalistic interface makes it kind of aesthetic, but a pain in the ass... cant understand why they didnt do the key version with more realtime control...

  • 6:39 O_o awesome !" !! the devil inside

  • I saw it today at Sam Ash, I test it with headphones, it sounds better than the Access Virus Ti2 that was beside, it has more air and more depth.

  • @vjrei samash in NYC? cause i was planning on going htere to check out a virus, wondered if they had a floor model i could test. If it was NYC can you tell me where in the building the VIRUS is thanks.

  • @TheDLovas In Miami. Look, the Virus sounds like... a korg but no so stereo enhanced (texture wise). It would be a mix of 40% korg, 20% Yamaha SY family, 30% like quasimidi. It has body, is clean (a lot) dense. But the sound is too distinguished for my taste. I had a JP-8080 years ago and I couldn't stand the Goa Trance body it had. With the Virus I get the same feeling, that I am pushed to play under some elses EQ taste, but that is just me.

  • @vjrei you used the head phones on the virus?bc i used two dif sets of head phones on the polar and only one side would work...same thing happend on the ms2000..only one side worked but if i play my sq80 it works on both left and right...wtf is going on lol i know its off the subject but you set head phones lol can anyone help?

  • mate love to see you play that bio with a big fat beat of any type! sickkkkkkkkkkk

  • amazing. best synth vid ive seen in ages

    5:02 is really good

  • lol at toxic avenger

  • Šialené video. :-) I am currently maybe looking for something new to my "studio", and Blofeld seems to be by far the most interesting thing currently on market. I would get the desktop version though, I'm just not sure - it _does_ have that 60 MB, but you have to "unlock" them by buying extra?

  • @Substance242 You have to buy a digital key to unlock the sampling feature. You can download it from their website. I costs about $100.

  • Ooooook????

  • excellent demo excellent patches excellent player with lot of style and insane fancy video

the only non-excellent stuff in there is actually the synth i got mine one and a half years ago and almost never used it cause is a bug's sewer -_________- 'll see what happens with the last fw. cheers dude 10/10 vid

  • i bet you and trent would write some killer music together..show him your vids if you can!

  • This is an amazing keyboard i have an access virus waldorf q nord rack 2 oberheim 12 juno 106 tx81z korg monopoly this is by far my favouret at the moment big fat warm sounds love it

  • @radiocrash you like the blofeld better than your Q? explain please.

  • @TheDLovas very simuler sounding to be hounest the q has more controls on the face but the blo has better software control there were some software editors for q but they wernt great get one you wont be unsatisfied

  • just got one!

  • Another great vid. I'd like to see a vid with your synth demos but only clips from those crazy videos you splice into your vids :-)

  • Super video !!!!! :-) *****

  • 90 % tych dźwięków nadaje się do wyjebania

  • @Eclipsepoland czemu tak uważasz?

  • @Eclipsepoland Ty jesteś do wyjebania :)

  • Wow! Just received a written review on the Waldorf Blofeld module and wanted to check out what it was capable of myself. It seems this is definitely the video to watch for that! Considering the price compared to other synths, this piece of equipment looks brilliant value for money! Great video!

  • Wow somebody who knows how o use this at last!

    Excellent demo, many thanks :)

  • I'm loving this dudes reviews/jams! No talking, all music and he actually knows how to play and compose-very cool! Best overview demo's of all kinds of kick-ass synths!

  • @matthewme23 Exactly what I would have said, superb compositions and demos, and a cool swing to go with it ;]

  • Finally a decent review of the Blofeld's sound capability... many thanks. It has a stomping bass sound as well as beautiful pads.

  • you you go in to it man ....nice to see !!!!

  • Does the keyboard have after touch?

  • @VoltiserzMedia Yes it has.

  • @VoltiserzMedia Yep!

  • 04:18 to 04:48 - great demo

  • @HELLSPAWN1973 i stopped watching untill i saw your comment , i agree , from that point some wicked shit came out of his mind and the machine.

  • Great work Jexus! The Blofeld is a very capable synthesizer - but it needs a man like Jexus to make this absolutely clear. I am sure that a part III of the Blofeld demo could sound like an old smooth and fat analogue synthesizer - if Jexus want to do this.

(i would appreciate this very much!)

  • luv 6:00, the rest is wicked as usual. you'are wild man, wild!

  • I love the C64 SID version of Blue Monday you had going there.

  • @Biopharmer I think it's Touched by the hand of God, if it's 7:20-7:40 what you're referring...

  • @javiceres Oh yeah, it is. Touched by the Hand of God is my favorite New Order song too. Silly me.

  • @Biopharmer ^_^

  • nice sound bud =D

  • Ultracool!

  • The Blofeld is cool :) it does everything the cheaper synths do and more

  • @Fender1976uk it gets all the sounds of the more expensive synths too. :D

  • blofeld is all about programming your own sounds.

  • Any chance of getting a Roland Jupiter 8 demo on here Jexus? I imagine you would blow us away with that one.

  • 4:17 ~ 4:39 is excellent!

  • This or the nord lead 2? I'm looking for a synth that will work with my virus b quite well. We do trancey rock and I need a second synth contrasting the b.

  • crazy stuff from 3.00 really like

Ever thinking of releasing your soundsets commercialy , they are really good

  • At the 5:20 time, it sounds a little like Dead or Alive"Spin me round like a record"(or whatever it's called.....

  • i love your videos,man!

  • Awesome! That´s what I call inspired playing. Say - you don´t issue some of your patches used here, do you? ;)

  • uwielbiam ten numer zrobiony początkowo na Atari, teraz na Blofeldzie. ułjea.

  • Sounds like some of the stuff used in Daft Punk's Human After All album at 7:10.

  • @BenHendrickMusic yeah like filters/bitrate reducer....

  • Amazing synth! Not very common here in the states! Well at least not by me on Florida! Anybody else notice some distinct similarities to the ESQ-1 and this? Filter wise I should say?

Stellar Demo and Programming! As usual!! :)

  • I have the desktop version, I'm highly impressed with it.. Programming is great given the oscillator and filter options..

Highly recommended if you like getting your hands dirty programming some filth...

    It's an excellent synth

  • Dude ... every synth you demo sounds amazing. You've made me rediscover my nearly discarded MS2000, =)

I've been considering buying a blofeld, it sounds ... adventurous somehow.

  • @mrhartuc The patches in this video are all designed by Jexus. I wouldn't buy it based on the patches you hear in his videos. He's a GENIUS when it comes to programming synths. He can make you wanna buy every synth he touches. I've heard that the Blofeld's factory patches are kinda "meh". If you can, play around with one before you decide to buy.

  • The dude with half face painted. What film is that?

  • 9:27 is like some silent hill shit. creepy

  • 1:34 holy shit ! :D want this synth badly...

  • Love the '70s cinema vibe of the patch starting at 5:43.

  • dr3tri: I agree, the demos and samples of this synth has been horrible and kind of off-putting, I kinda thought it sucked until I heard Jexus demo, and all I can say is WOW.. With the right person using it it sounds amazing and twisted, I'm thinking of picking up the desktop next week.

  • Waldorf should use this as one of their official demos. :D

Before this all i heard from Blofeld were way too static and clean demos with plenty of sweet and etheric sounds (lame). Now people can actually have a clue what Blofeld can do.. as it has combined pretty much all earlier Waldorf products it should be capable to produce sounds that Microwave 1, 2/XT and Q did.. at least in theory. :P Of course it might lack some of the parameters of older products.. . .

  • How the crap can he make these crazy retard sounds... amazing

  • !

    Toxic Avenger!

  • 7:19 Sounds unbelievably SID-like!

How the hell did you get it so close?

Even the noise wave sounds identical.

Im guessing wavetables were used to get it close.

  • Funnily enough, ive just happened upon the original, the game is called Lasermania, for the Atari 800XL, which is a polish game!

    Excellent stuff!

  • Wunderschön!

  • 5 stars <3

  • I like the retro type of sounds going down right now... a lot.

  • You sure love LFOs.

  • As shown here this synth can make cool and smooth sounds, but it totally lack of fatness.

  • It's the Waldorf sound. The Q, MicroQ, Blofeld and Largo all have it.

  • you did man...KILLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • your a fucking beastof a programmerdude, serious respect

  • 6:40-6:49 was the best part of this video

  • very creative patches... i like it!!!

  • Tak jest jak się pije wodę z kranu, w której wykryto psylocynę :)

Olo na króla! Olo na króla! Olo na króla!

  • gosciu te sound baki sa zajebsite !!

  • ааа! наконец-то! давно уже жду. =)

    thanx!

  • At first I thought I hade heard it all before. It sounded like you were playing they same old stuff you ahve used on other machines. But the 8bit part about 7 minutes in changed my mind. This is your best demo yet.

By the way how many of all the bugs in the Blofeld have you found?

  • 7:18 bit is title music from Atari XL/XE game Lasermania, pretty awesome recreation of Pokey soundchip sound. There's so many great sounds here I wish Jexus posted more of his songs (complete with usual bizarre videos if possible :>).

  • @ZeeKat

check out the midibox SID diy Synths with up to 8 salvaged atari MOS SID soundchips ^^ those chips don't sound pokey at all!

  • SID soundchip came from Commodore computers actually, Atari one's called, well, POKEY :>. Distincly different sounding chips - POKEY is all square waves, while SID uses sawtooth and triangle ones (I think). Nice info about midibox, though, demos on project's page sound great.

  • The SID also has square waves with PMW , and a weird "pseudorandom" noise wave, as well as triangle and saw. And the thing that seperates it from all other chips, is that it has a multimode filter, and envelopes.

  • you're the best!

  • Yeah new video!

    07:09 -07:18 - 07:44 very cool!

  • god blessss you

  • i gave 5 stars before it even started thats how much i love your videos!

  • fuck yes!

  • Another great demo.

  • 5:03 Is just awesome. I love this synth, but the interface turns me off a little bit. Also having a horrible time getting LFO midi sync out of it :(

  • Świetny film! Szkoda, że nie dzielisz się swoją wiedzą. Byłoby wspaniale, gdybyś pokazał sposób w jaki otrzymałeś niektóre brzmienia.

  • damn that sounds tight! nice toxi clips! XD

  • I was waiting for this! And I was not the only one... You are gaining a name as a synth guru:)

  • 4:17 to zgniotło mnie tak ze leże i nie mam zamiaru sie podnosić nawet...ten synth to dwulicowy kombajn...przy ktorym bizon z płocka to zwykla kosiarka.. lead, pad to bright side ale ten arp to juz esencja szklistego brzmienia Waldka B.

    lubie :)

  • 7:18 from Atari65XE demo! wow

  • Moc! Mają klimat te brzmienia.
