As far as I know, the Canadian government doesn't use torture as a way to extract false confessions from its citizen, regardless of what those citizens may or may not have done..

But if it did, we would speak out against it. Because my Mom and I both believe torture is wrong, no matter who does it.

This is an obvious fact that torture is bad. No one says it's good.

Why the U.S government is doing it IF it's bad?

Why don't you care about China or Saudi Arabia? They are worse than other countries in terms of torture. Why CNN focused on the American planned twitter revolution in Iran not killing of thousands of Chinese by their gov. We don't need war criminals and invaders advise us.

I agree with you. Torture is bad no matter who does it or where it occurs.

Saudi Arabia & China are among many countries in the world that have poor records on human rights.

I can't speak for CNN. I can only speak for myself.

I also agree with you that change in Iran must come from within Iran; it's up to the Iranian people to determine the path for their country.

However, I also think it's important for people around the world to show support for positive changes wherever it occurs

I agreed 100 percent with you. U.S has to change it's policy toward invasion of other countries territorial waters. We don't want to see any Americans in the Persian Gulf cause that is not the place they belong. I am not supporting neither defending the Iranian gov. but commenting as an Iranian. I'd want to know what's your mom's opinion about the discrimination in Western countries?

I think the US is often in a difficult position in that it is asked to help countries in distress, and then is damned when it does, or damned if it doesn't.

However, US foreign policy is certainly not my area of expertise.

My Mom and I share the view that human rights abuses are wrong no matter where they occur, North, South, East, or West.

We are pro peace and equality for all.
