It's annoying because hundreds upon thousands of people judge a Pokemon's gender to be male, even if its genderless or can be either gender. It's always:

"Lucario he's awesome!"

"I love Arceus he's the best Pokemon"

"Cynthia's Garchomp is too hard, HE KOed all my Pokemon" (her Garchomp is a female obviously)

Sometimes its the other way around. Once, I was referring to my Milotic in Diamond as a male (because mine is a male) and somebody replied "Male? You're stupid! She's a female DUH!".
