Welcome to the movement! If you have not hunted down and gotten a copy of the new ebook, "American Epitaph" by Damien, then get on it! It is revolutionary, and was inspired by and comes from within the movement!
I don't believe in violence, but I do belive in stopping to pay taxes in a massive scale, I bet they would listen to us then, and they wouldn't have enough jails to put us in.
I would vote for you...you are right about the inaction and corruption of our elected officials on BOTH political parties and political ideology...it is our fault that we keep electing the same spineless, lack of compassion, courage and balls to be "real" leaders. Wake up America and vote ANY incumbent out, they are killing this country and the future generations. I am sad to say, but i am getting where cicvil disobdience will not work...only violence towards those at the "top"
I have seen violence and do not advocate such unless in defense of myself or others in immediate circumstance. We are a democracy, and our solutions can be reached through the tools at hand if we will but work to use them.
So get up andgo cut the trees down!! everyone try to stop relying on the government for everything we have become codependant with our government. get a neighbor - we need to start helping one another, old days if someone needs a house the community would get together and build one.. Now I doubt if half the men around would even be healthy enough to work because of obesity and liability issues. We have become scaming unfriendly unthoughtful people it's up to us to win this battle.
@tmandrews1 We have enough people who are working against us, and are putting us down, we don't need to do it among ourselves. We have men and women risking there lives for us everyday.
It's hard to know what kind of things will be effective as a form of civil disobedience. They kind of just occur to you, if you're lucky. I'm sure Rosa Parks wasn't planning on doing what she did. (I could be wrong.) She probably just got fed up one day and made an on-the-spot decision. It's a very human thing to do. The moral conviction just becomes that strong, and it can be pretty powerful when it's on display.
On the other hand, I've seen it used quite extensively for a long time now.
Call what a money tree? You mean the trees that Oncor hasn't cut in years that keep taking down powerlines?
Or are you talking about the money tree Congress must be growing in my back pocket to keep financing the financial industry that in turn screws us further?
I think you missed the point of the nice lady who was paying her bills on time consistently when her rate was arbitrarily jacked up by the same people who just tapped our taxpaying pockets for a few BILLION.
Maybe the people who were supposed to cut your trees are practicing civil disobedience, Sam, and they forgot about what how their inaction might affect you.
Similarly, the debtors revolters don't think about the people working hard to *pay off* their debts, or the folks who didn't get into trouble and therefore cant be exploited.
i wish it were as simple as lawyers=bad & customers=good. It's not. It sucks for a whole range of people. Revolt=bigger hole=mo tax and mo deficit.
I have a better idea... Stop paying out extravagant bonuses to banking executives who caused the problems. Likewise, politicians need to leave the market alone. People like Barney Frank manipulated mortgage markets to encourage lending that created this mess. The banking institutions need to work with people.
People who are paying their debts should not be subject to arbitrary rate increases and other such rules.

Violence is not an option.
I have seen violence and do not advocate such unless in defense of myself or others in immediate circumstance. We are a democracy, and our solutions can be reached through the tools at hand if we will but work to use them.

You're right. The Romans should have never listened to the health insurance companies.
