I was wondering if you might be able to tell me how to make an axle for this type of wheel, so that I may be able to make a wheel myself. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, all the way from Puerto Rico!
Ahhh! What great things come from demolition! It was refreshing watching you destroy something versus how we usually see you! But, one could argue in the destruction you were creating, so what do you say now?! Much love from California!
Look at that! I've been saying he's a badass. You totally demolished that wheel in about 60 seconds. What a warrior with a crowbar. It's good to know you're rebuilding it too. You should make a clip of the finished new wheel someday.
Thats odd when I posted my congratulations earlier YouTube credited you with 200 videos and now it's gone down to 199.... damn site making me look a liar :(
Mmmmm a new wheel and a larger kiln, Simon are you thinking of taking on an apprentice as well..... seems that visit back to your roots really might have given you some ideas after all.
Could we be witnessing a new chapter in the Leach family pottery history I wonder...
Next he'll be building a wood fired climbing kiln :)
Ha, it takes a few "crash & burn" pots for me, but I always know the next one will be PERFECT! I can't image you making junk on your wheel pensandcalls...you make very nice things!
A loving and delicate piece of ceramic restoration :)

You're done! just a little new grease and you've got a korean style kick wheel. None of that useless frame stuff in the way.

You can collect the ash and make a glaze Simon!

I was wondering about that position from several other clips on the internet, mainly of potters standing to the side throwing.

There's a Leach wheel for sale in Aus. on ebay. Have a look. Replace "dot with ".".

LOL! I thought so too. Sometimes a fast and swift death at the hands of a crow bar IS more respectful.

Recycling. Great!
How exhilarating to smash something up when you spend your time using gentle hands.
Watch the woodworm on the fire though, Simon, I'm sure they spit back.
Look forward to seeing the new wheel in action.
