  • My favorite song to get drunk to.

  • @mrernestthomspon

I am getting drank to 'er now, wha?

  • I remember being 9 years old in Louisville and this song was played on WFPK ten times a day. Three years later, they were huge.

  • Life Is Good :)

  • My Morning Jacket and Fleet Foxes are both awesome.

  • what! fleet foxes are gay!!! theres nothing like mmj. Thats what makes them so special....fleet foxess...shhhh...folky like my nana.

  • It's pretty safe to say that Jim James is an angel sent here to atone for all the bad music by making music worthy of God.

  • i thank American dad! =D

  • Fuck Fleet Foxes. Seriously. This is a billion times better.

  • @maggieman, Fuck Fleet Foxes? Oh no you ditn't! Jim James couldn't even roadie for Fleet Foxes. I like MMJ quite a bit, especially this album, but there's no comparison between the two bands. They don't even sound the same at all. It's like comparing apples and bowling balls. MMJ is a Rock & Roll band. FF are not R & R. They are, if anything, a combo of Folk and Progressive rock. Fleet Foxes are nothing short of fucking amazing. Their music has changed my life. Robin Pecknold is God!

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN Sorry? I remember liking fleet foxes last year, but after hearing this album, my opinion just sorta turned itself on its head. I mean, the dreamy vocals (even as much as the voice itself), the lush, faraway tone of the guitars, the melodies... they're just too similar! and yesss, my morning jacket is excellent rock n roll, loaded with talent and a wide variety of influences and variations on the genre, whereas Fleet foxes is just sorta the same idea repeated over and over-

  • like White Winter Hymnal. Same shit over and over. Don't get me wrong, I like Ragged Wood and Sun It Rises, but Fleet Foxes are just too boring. On the same album they stay so confined to what they know they can do, that they don't take any risks and branch out to do something different, and because of that, you know that you're just going to hear the same ol stuff over and over. MMJ will try anything once, and if they do it well enough, they'll move on. Also, Jim james is a BETTER guitarist. :C

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN Saying that Jim James could not even roadie for fleet foxes is a poor analogy. Pretty sure he could handle whatever equipment you threw his way, especially fleet foxes. He's a bona fide rock engineer. Fleet Foxes are very effective at achieving variations of the same pleasant sounds, but MMJ are true decathletes of rock n roll, and Jim James could out"fox" about anyone he wants in the folk realm, as well.

  • @Jogrifha3, I was kidding around with that Jim James/roadie comment. The guy is super talented. I was just grinding on that douche nozzle who said "Fuck Fleet Foxes". I love MMJ, but Fleet Foxes is my favorite group. I saw MMJ here in Portland, Maine about a year ago. Fucking amazing! However, when it comes to Robin Pecknold or Jim James, Robin's the man! They are both gifted artists.

  • I think Mahgeetah is his guitar. Sound it out slowly.

  • @easymorningrebels hahaha Sound it out slowly. Maaaaaaaa.... ggeeeeee... taaaahhhh. mahgeetah.... my geetah... OOOHHHHH haha. Sorry that made me laugh haha

  • Damn! Can this band get any better?

  • It Still Moves is an amazing album

  • isn't Mahgeetah a monkey?

  • Don't you just love the part where James goes "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! MAAAAAAAHHHHHGEEEETAAAHHHH!!!"

  • 4 dislikes? give me a break

  • Jesus has this song on his Ipod

  • American Dad got me curious

  • 4 people lost their morning jacket.....oh yeah. im gonna be THAT guy

  • I went to their concert and this song got everyone super pumped up and excited! It was so amazing!

  • i dont think fleet foxes would be anything or anywhere if it werent for MMJ. And MMJ are better on every count in my book

  • @ispulver now you're just hating on fleet foxes

  • When I listen to this, I can't help but be reminded of Fleet Foxes and their awesomeness.

  • best

  • THE SONG IS ABOUT A MONKEY! thats pretty cool

  • I was recently introduced to MMJ by a dear friend, and WOW! It was love at first note!!! Thank you for posting here..... introducing me to more of their incredible work! Amazing talent!!!!!

  • i would like to thank all the listeners for keeping to the music and not going off on bullshit tangents. this band is one of the seldom few that never get old. i can some how always come back to this band and find it amazing.

  • Ah mahgeetah....mahgeetah....

  • fantastic band to see live. Jim James WAILS.

  • This is one of the best songs I ever heard. I was in a bar on Sunset BLVD with my friend, and this song came on. At first i didnt care what it was that was playing but really quickly i started to listen to it for real. And damn it was good; so good that i went to the jukebox to find out who it was. I wasnt suprised when it said My Morning Jacket. I bought IT STILL MOVES two days later. Bitchin album!

  • what do you reckon these lyrics mean. i feel like it could be multiple things. interpretations.

  • i agree. many memories do go along with this song. pulled an all nighter with my buddies while on vacation in NC and drove aimlessly for 40 miles (thankfully not drunk any more) playing this and intergalactic ha the whole way. 3:35 and on is the fucking best sequence in a song ive heard in a while.

  • does it shiiiivveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer

  • Love listening to this when slipping into my morning jacket!

  • probably more like when your fucking the sleeve of your favorite jacket!

  • This is the first MMJ song I ever heard. I've been a fan ever since.

  • same

  • Agreed, sir.

  • I heard "off the record" and liked them but when the album evil urges came out i loved them!

  • evil urges is by far their worst album

  • yes but smoking from shootin is by far the best song in the history of music.

  • i agree. "Z" and "It Still Moves" are far better. who ever gave you 4 thumbs down don't know anything.

  • Amen to that. But I guess crass commercialization had to happen at some point in their career, unfortunately...

  • second that. what a band.

  • Same here. Late night card game, January 2004. Bottle of whiskey, and dude puts this CD on. Beautiful.

  • Good memories go along with this song...

  • I like to play this song while riding in the car on the highway.

  • I like to play song while riding in the boat on the outer banks

  • this is a great song from a great band :)

  • Great Groove

  • Hell yeah, I love this song. Reminds me of chillin' in a canoe, getting closer to whatever oblivion we choose.

  • Me too. Into the beaver dam of the great beyond.

  • i know them.

  • listened to this so many times

  • i love this song
