It goes to a custom-made flushing "T" diverter. The "T" shape having two discharge outlets, decreases the velocity of the flow. By attaching it to the truck, it safely diverts the water flow onto pavement. I have a pitot tube and gauge built-in to the device attached to the hydrant. By using this system, it virtually eliminates soil erosion/landscaping problems, as well as minimizing the "getting wet" factor by not having to manually hold a pitot tube :-)

What is the hose going to by the truck? I use a flow defuser and manually take the readings with a pitot tube.
