  • I love the arrangement and wonder if you've made it available for others to play? Thank you.

  • Great arrangement.....absolutely loved it. Kept coming back again and again.

  • Very very very good job. Thank you.

  • This is a very nice arrangement you made. Changing the tuning to get the deep bass adds so much to the piece. Cudos for that!

  • very nice arrangement and technique!great playing

  • Thanks a lot gfnca.

  • It sounds beautiful. Very relaxing. :)

  • Very, very beautiful rendition of this piece. Well arranged, and very well played.

I really liked listening to it :) It's a very nice, original, calm interpretation. In fact, I listened to it a few times during the last days, it just sounds so beautiful. Great work :)

By the way, I posted my rendition of this music on Synthesizer here on youtube, too. You might want to listen to it, I would be very interested in your opinion :)

  • Thanks v much ATuFilm for the very kind comment.

It is a lovely piece of music. One that you would feel ashamed of liking, from your parent's collection, as a teenager!

    Mine was Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony.

    Your synth version is marvellous.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • Great! Gangly1, It's the Eurovision soundtrack, right? (at least in Italy). I didn't know the name nor the author. Thank you for playing it.

  • Cheers Gim. It is indeed the Eurovision anthem. Yuck!!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • You were very complimentary about my organ version of this: I have to say I take my hat off to anyone who can play the guitar like this, having tried it myself and found it very hard. A guitarist friend also told me that, as a beginner at 50, I'll never be able to do more than strum... Have felt a bit demotivated since! L

  • Cheers L.

This is easyish. Sshhhh, don't tell anyone, but I can only play easy stuff!!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Never Heard this before such a nice piece :) The tunning sure is interesting . Must be quite confusing on the 6th string

    Regards,

    Himanshu

    Paul

  • you play this very well and its a nice piece. i might have a go at it myself.

is that the full piece you play or is there more?

  • Cheers UncleP.

  • A famous march with steady pace, very well played ***** The sound is brilliant!

  • Thank you Tor. I played it somewhat slower than the orchestral version because it is, after all, a march. I shouldn't fancy trying to march to it any quicker than this...my legs would drop off!!

    Take care sir,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul

Thank you for this one, very nice arrangement and very well played as well.

    5*****

    Cheers,

    Anders

  • Thanks a lot Anders. We should have a bash at a duet me thinks..... You play the guitar and I edit the video!!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Nice work Paul. I never heard this very uplifting piece before. I heard a rumor that Ponce had a hand in it;-)

    Cheers, Don

  • Cheers Don. You are blessed to not have to endure Eurovision!

I can see this being a really nice piece for a trio I know!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Oops. Terribly sorry, I'm late!

    How lovely!

So what other talents are you hiding?

  • Where have I heard that before?

    Oh yes, on Trumpton!

    TC Lady,

    PKP

  • Cheers Paul! My comments limits were exceeded so I listened to this twice. Good deal for me because you have made an absolutely great arrangement of this piece!! You have so many small, nice things in it! Congrats!! England: 12 points! (I think I read something like that above...). And on top of that: very well played too! And the C-string stayed in tune all the way! :-) Well done, my friend!

    Per

  • Thanks a lot Maestro.

    I love Tequila!!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • You are not only a good classic guitar player but also a talented arranger, aren't you? I even did not know the name of Marc Antoine Charpentier. A very nice piece. Thank you for letting me know a new wonderful piece for me.

  • Thanks a lot Lute. Sadly, I am neither!!

I think the original is in D major. The piano piece I found was in C. I am not transposing it. I will put a capo on and cheat!!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Thanks a lot Lute. Do have a look at Welti playing this, and other classical guitar pieces, on the Ukelele.

I have mailed you the music.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Wow this is your own arrangement?!!

    Even more jealous now ...

  • Found a piano arrangement and tinkered with it. Better in D, I now think.

    Papa

  • Well ... Use a capo!

  • Lol it's a nice melody. But I don't like that it reminds me of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Anyway, liked your playing. Great dynamics and your trills are really really nice. I'm jealous!

    Best,

    Jo

  • Angleterre .....nil point!

    Host...dix point.

    Cheers Jojo,

    Take care,

    Paul

  • PaPaul; cinque points.

  • Cheers Jo.

    Hope you are keeping well,

    Paul.

  • Hey Paul!! I like the tune too!! Your arrangement is great and of course your playing is sweet as always!! Thanks my friend!! 5 stars!! Hug Sarah :-)

  • Thank you Sarah.

Don't tell me you watch Eurovision too???

    Regards,

    Paul

  • This little hymn sometimes come in the german tv...Before big television broadcast....I'm always whistle if I hear it!! Love the melody!!! Sarah :-)

  • Belgium : 10 points!!!

haha, as a matter of fact, it is indeed a wonderfull tune, and well played: good taste, thanks for playing!

    Pascal

  • United Kingdom- nil point!!! Sounds very familiar to me!

    Cheers Pascal.

You are a superb guitarist my friend,

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Nice! How do you get such great sound quality?

  • Cheers Chonch.

Send me a private message, with e-mail, and I will give you the links to the free software I use.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Maybe we do have something in common. I was hoping to find a guitar arrangement of this as well. Looks like I found one. You did a great job ... except for using an alternate tuning. I hate having to change the tuning. Did you work this out from Wilfried's uke arrangement or did you find a piano score?

  • Cheers Mike.

I found a piano arrangement and tinkered with it. It has to go into an alternate tuning, I think. Now done, I think it would sit nicer in D, rather than C. Typical isn't it!!

I will send you the music. Capo at second fret for us both then! E-mail address again please.

    Regards,

    Paul
