  • oh when you make the grafting cut of the first branch, cut a foot away from the (Y) in the trunk of the tree.

  • let them grow for one full year, then where the first split is, cut one half off, get a dormant orange tree cutting from the type of fruit you want to grow, Then Graft it on to the place you cut, bark graft 3 or 4 to make sure you get some growing, then when they grow a bit, about 3 feet with good leaves, then cut off the other side of the old tree (The mother branch) and graft more to it, then next year with good watering, and good triming 2 times a year, you will have a great sweet orange tree

  • Just one little thing, sorry to say, but I am 99.99% sure the oranges will grow fine, but never fruit, it is due to the way growers are growing them now, and if they did have fruit, 90% they will not be sweet, but very bitter, if you want a good Orange tree, but don't want to buy the tree, then buy yourself Sour Oranges, take there seeds, as they have a very good root stock, and are good with cold too, then grow them, when they are bigger, (remember you can do this the ones your growing now too)

  • What a talented grower. You must have a green thumb

  • Mangoes are tropical fruits and loves the heat and sun. They are not going to grow in Canada, unless you have a heated green house. Even in some tropical countries there are parts where they grow, but the frost kills the blossoms so no mangoes. They grow in Florida, especially in the Miami area and Homstead. I have seen them grow as far as West Palm Beach. They are the sweetest fruit on earth.

  • thank you so much!!..thanks for getting back to me=0))) hey how r ur plants? i have my own collection too but i dnt post them on youtube tho..=0)

  • @mickie007 ther ok!

iv been out of the country so!

mothers been left to watch them!

update should be coming soon when i return!!

  • Can you make us a video showing how Pomegrantate grows from seed to plant.

  • same goes for southern ontario canada

  • @MrTittySlapper yes it does!

  • Everyone, plant your own fruit trees.

  • its so amazing... i wish i could do that !

  • @PregnantWhaleOnE

    u can do it though!!

its real fun and super addictive! iv started and an outdoor garden last summer!

and i tell ya their aint nothin more rewarding that eating your dinner knwing you grew 50% of it or more :')

  • @underoath2k7 I live in the middle of the québec, in canada... it is really difficult to even grow only apple :( i can't imagine trying to grow these. I can't wait to have my little outdoor garden and everything :)

  • @PregnantWhaleOnE

ah super shite im pissed of i cant grow mangos and avocados outside

but not being able t grow apples O: damn!!

are u movin t sumwer warmmer then?

  • @PregnantWhaleOnE Hey, I live in Ontario, and I grow all these plants in my windows during the summer, and away from the windows in the winter, it's totally possible!!

  • @mynxiejynxie AMAZING :)!

  • @PregnantWhaleOnE come to southern Ontario to live. That's where i live and i have all of these plants except the kiwi. i had some kiwi sprouted but my grandma threw them out. oh well. now i'm going to try and grow kiwi again!!!

  • nice plants..love the song...plz tell me who this is??=0)) thnx!!

  • @mickie007 its by Althea and Donna!

  • Great collection. How much larger are your plants now?

  • @BOBCOMproductions

oh their getting their lets just say! the avocado suffered a set back with a geese attack but none the less it takes up a meter squared now :']

things like my dragon fruit have split into 3 parts :L

  • wow!! that's awesome!! my whole window is full of plants. and i have a baby avocado tree growing (he's 13-14 inches tall)

  • @TheBeastNamedZafarri

haha mines was huge till the geese got at it O_o

shortened him back! but hes recovered well :L

  • I (or other family members) have tried growing almost all of the plants you showed here, except the Mango. Never had success starting a pineapple or pomegranate (though I have plans to buy a pomegranate). Have grapefruit, cashew, many English walnuts & generic avocado trees growing from seeds. Bought a naval orange, kiwi, & Don Gillogly avocado. All but the kiwi are in our sun room in UT; kiwi is in the yard, buds opening/lengthening right now. :} Exotic plants are fun to grow!

  • @leiatyndall

its a serious addiction! i would be 99% sure im the only person in Ireland with a Jackfruit tree :L

i started an outdoor garden last year now too, must get a video up soon!

  • what song is that. it is garden music for sure... sweet fruit

  • I have pineapple, avacado, mango, and pomegranite. How did you grow the kiwi seeds?

  • @smurfboywv

you gota stratify the kiwi seeds!!

kept my seed in a water bottle in the fridge for 2- 3 weeks, then took em out and left them in the heat till i noticed germination begin!!

    planted them all after!!

i had like 100s all growing!!

just pick the best few!! :D

  • @underoath2k7 So you put the seeds in a empty jar? for 2-3 weeks, in the fridge, then left them out in the heat with no dirt or anything and they grew? Pretty cool.

  • @smurfboywv

yep thts it! east as! you'll have too many XD

  • Lol I thought this was from my own playlist playing nice song!!

  • what sort of soil do you use for the plants?

  • @emmie0212

about a 50/50 mix of compost and soil from a wee forest beside me!

its a good airy mix and doesn't get too compact with time!

  • great video!! did you ever try to germinate passion fruit seeds? i tried but nothing happend.. maybe you can help me? thanks

  • What mango variety are you growing? Also, is it still alive? Thanks

  • @lennon890

these seeds where all got from store fruit, they are of no variety!

to get a variety you would need to graft a piece of the mother plant onto the seedling rootstock!!

  • @underoath2k7 But the seed must be of a certain variety, making the tree a certain variety. Kent, Keitt, Tommy Atkins?

  • @lennon890

oh yea im sure it was! think it may have been a Kent!!

    cant quiet remember!!

  • got grass?

  • @letmeseeurtacogirl

haha to be honest it was the first plant I ever grew!

it was really tall ( about 7 foot long ) and it got to the pre-flower stage, but that was about it!!

    i have a video still!

  • @FaustoAndraca

ok, this is what I did! I removed the arils around the seeds and had them placed and a bottle of water for about a week, then after that I emptied out most of the water until their was just the slightest amount of water still in the bottle, about half covering the seed I had the bottle on its side with the cap not tightly closed to allow in oxygen! this then got them to root and I planted them!

i would say their is easier methods out ther

    Goodluck with them!!

  • cool!

  • Comment removed

  • @adidasbooi

the avocado their was about 3 months old!

soils wer just potting soils, but its now a sandly loam from the forest here!

its much better with the new soil

id say if you took soil from your garden and mixed it up with sand and compost 1-1-1 ratio, it would do a good job, i havent done this but will try, t see the results!!

i shall be uploading the new video on the 20th of this month! ul see it a year after now

  • Comment removed

  • @adidasbooi

kk but it should be up on the 20th!!

aw its a great thing to do though!

and since iv done this iv started a proper vegetable and fruit garden outside!

    its great :D

    Goodluck, Chris!!

  • Comment removed

  • Great job. I admire people who can grow healthy plants from seeds.

  • I'm impressed, I'm doing the same thing at the mo. you should try growing some Dragon Fruit, i've got one on the go at the mo. they turn into cactus and they make great house plants, although they take there time to grow.

How your plant doing now a year on?

  • @funkydreadman

    cool cool!!

yes the dragon fruit is epic!! i had tones of seeds but in the end they all die, but then one day I found one growing under one of my avocados :L

its been transplanted and is about a centimetre long!

most have done really well, the mangos in the video all sadly died, it just continued to get mold after mold!

but I learned that putting them in real crap soil is the best!

I believe it was the rich, airy damp holding compost that caused the molds :/

  • @funkydreadman

the pineapple also died because of this soil!

I have new mangos and pineapples in proper soil this time!

I will have an update video on the 20th of Septemeber, then it will be exactly a year apart from this video!

check back and and see then!! :D

and good luck with your plants!

  • its all very nice, but those are all tropical trees, they'll have to be put outside in the heat and in the ground, and you can't leave them in containers because they go root-bound

  • @shadowhog777

awk god i know :/ id love to be able to plant them out!!

but I'm keeping roots looked after! they don't just go unchecked, they are trimmed, and the pots continuously getting bigger and bigger!

this video is a year old!

their will be a new video on the 20 the of September! to make exactly a year apart from this video

  • Nice collection you have there! I never thought about pomegranate or kiwi. I have oranges, avocado and lychee growing now but I left the lychee out on the verandah and a squirrel came and dug it up and broke the shoot. I'm hoping it will come back. Thanks for posting your little garden.

  • @ChicaTheLadybug

ah their cool enough ones to grow! especially the Kiwi!

tight one about the Lychee though, I have two Lychees, and their very cool plants!!

  • @underoath2k7 The lychee that got mugged by the squirrel actually continued to grow and now my little tree is about 2 inches high. I'm glad I gave it another chance, it's the only lychee that I've had success with. I'm interested in seeing what comes of it. :)

  • @ChicaTheLadybug how did you make those lychee seeds grow? just put them in soil? or wet paper? thanks

  • @jakobneirinck Hi, yes, I kept them moist in wet paper towels but I had to change it often because it got a little slimey and stinky. My little plant is about 3 inches tall with three lovely green leaves. I keep it in a sunny window to help keep it warm. I live in Canada so it's hard to get fresh lychees. Anyways, so far so good, as long as I keep them away from the squirrels! :)

  • can i grow kiwi in Tx

  • @jerrydff7

    in Texas?

    I would say so!!

i grew these Kiwis for the fun here in Ireland!

but my cousin has them growing all around his house in Switzerland!

despite the summer heat, it gets real cold in winter!!

  • @underoath2k7 Yes, we even grow Kiwis in Canada (southern Ontario)

  • Can you do an update on all of your plants?

  • @EyeStabbingYum

    its coming september!!

that way it will be a year since this video!!

  • @underoath2k7 nice tell me man too! i would love to see, from ur excitement, i sense they are all still alive! nice! i had a orange tree for 10 yrs, no flowers and no fruit! wtf! its really neat looking though lol.

  • @underoath2k7 wow are most still alive? :) any producing fruit?

  • @BluSUBsound

    yes most are still alive!!

but no fruit! sure it would take about 9 years for mango and avocado to fruit!

but no worries I can wait :L

  • Back on my other account, I got a bit lazy with your sapote seeds but they have been in the mail for about 4 days now, they should be half way there. Don't be suprised if they are starting to germinate when you get them

  • @greenfoam

    aw its ok!! ah great!!

cant wait to see them :D

  • i mean this honestly when i say, 'your my hero'

  • @j3d1m4dc47

    :']

  • whats the song? plz and thnx

  • @LabaProductions

Uptown Top Ranking by Althea and Donna

  • Althea and Donna, nice!!!! yea, you can grow plants, but when you gonna get fruits? You need a green house in Ireland! Anyways, good luck! I love all those plants and their fruits!

  • @mostarski

hmmm fruits!! I haven't thought that far ahead yet :L:L

but the main 1 for maybe producing fruit hopefully will be the Avocado!

its growing at an unbelievable rate! You shall see in my update video!

I have Tamarillos that i hope will fruit next year!! :D

  • @underoath2k7 great! I will try to plant mango and avocado in Bosnia- it's Mediterranean climate and I hope they will grow. We can grow pomegranate, figs, kiwi, orange and lemons and so far I have only a lemon tree; I have no garden, so it grows in 5 gallon bucket and last summer I had 2 fruits for first time. My neighbors have a garden and they have pomegranate, figs and grapes. But, as far as I know, none grows mango or avocado and I will try it!!!!

  • @mostarski and once again; big + for the background music on your video! me luv reggae- it fits to your plants perfectly :))))

  • @mostarski

haha it does fit the well X3

    i love raggae too!!

  • @underoath2k7 sweet!!! I love reggae and dancehall! good luck with growing your plants!

  • @mostarski There's kind of a rule, that anywhere a Lemon will survive outside then so will an Avocado. Mangos need a bit more heat during the night than those other plants but it might be OK (depends how warm it is at night). I would say if you can have figs ripen fairly early in Autumn or even in late Summer then Mangos will grow there. if the Figs only ripen just before Winter then maybe not

  • @Jasonsadventures sweet! thank you for the information, it gives me hope for success!!!

  • @underoath2k7

Hi there! Do you have any tips on how to grow Avocado, Mango, Lemon, Orange, Kiwi, Pineapple, and Pomegrantate successfully in containers?

I'm in Canada and would enjoy trying this.

  • @The0Original0Kajmere

well not neseceraily!! ther all exotics so i sparingly water them! Kiwis seem to want alot of fertilizer, and i give the more water too!

then usual things like changing pots when the time is right!! when you can see a good amount of roots at the bottoms of the pots its time too change!

i would plant your mangos in big pots right away! the roots are very very britle if you have to move it!

  • what soil do u use

  • @360virus

    any soil to be honest!!

most of my soils are mixes of different composts!

I would actually think the soil I use is maybe a bit too rich for the likes of the pomegranate!

  • what soil do u use?

  • That is very awesome dude! You seem to be able to grow anything.

Ah, I thought of one more you could try- papaya.

  • @theknowbody

    a great idea!! I shall try :D

  • plzzzzzzzz make a vid of how to grow em

  • Very cool! I've been growing citrus and pineapple for about two months now and recently started avocado and mango. Can't wait till they look like yours!!

  • @shamrockgirl804

    they are great!!

and mine are much bigger now!!

ther will be an update video soon!! around the same time as i uploaded this vid!! :D onli a year apart

  • thanks and you should make a update on them

  • @bbooddmmonn

    i will do!!

im waiting for summer around the time when they'll all be a year old!!

  • o thanks i just fund out it was the shoot that cam out and it has a small leaf

  • @bbooddmmonn

    o great!!

stick it in the ground and see how it goes

dont be suprised if it dies

    they are hard to keep!

    Goodluck!!

  • hello im growing a mango tree but all i see is this big long root i had it for a 2 weeks now an was wondering when are the leaves going to pop out?

  • @bbooddmmonn

well first thing's first!! if you can see the root its bad!!

you should have it potted right away as a seed!!

those roots are very easy to damage!!

i'm not quiet sure how soon after there roots the leaves should pop out because mines were potted right away so i never saw the root!!

but generally the seed begins turning green around the time of the leaves!!

    have patience!!!

    :D

  • @MegaTacoking

the pomegranate can be germinated in a steamy damp environment or just planted and kept damp!

the kiwi is the same only that for 2 weeks before the steeming or direct planting the seeds should be in the refrigerator to be stratified

the mango is the same as the avocado!

Lemon and Orange are the same, take the seed coats off the seeds and plant in damp mix! keep damp until they'v germinated!

    hope this helped

  • hola,

    grow me a tree!

  • Wow! How long did it take each of those to get to that stage? :O

  • @dillontard

since they germinated these ar about 1 - 2 months old!!

the Avocado's are pretty big now and giving me branches now :D

  • @underoath2k7

That's awesome! Wow, they grew fast. I'm brand new to gardening but I'm going to be trying avocado, pineapple, and mango. Do you know any good tutorials on how to get these three to sprout? How long did they take to germinate. You've got yourself some beautiful plants!!

  • @dillontard

The Avocado is very easy if you have a good seed! it will germinate in about a month!

keep the bottom half (wide non pointed end) of your avocado seed in water, change the water regularly!

Mango usually has begun germination when you crack it out of the seed coat!

plant these right away into a damp potting soil in a deep pot! Mango's produce a large tap root!

  • @dillontard

The Pineapple is merely a cutting job, just cut the fruit off the crown, peel away about 1/4 - 1/3 of the bottom leaves, keep it in a darkish cool place (top of the refrigerator, and keep the pineapple's base in water until roots begin! pot when roots are about 1" long.

sometimes you can find a seed in a pineapple, but these are usual unfertile!!

you can always try if you find one!! :D

  • WAW!!! Its beautiful !!

  • @GreyBillie

    My own little rainforest XD

iv got sum cool new 1s :D

  • very nice!!

  • will these plants fruit without all the sunlight it should get? i'm trying some stuff too here in belgium, but wondering if i will ever have fruit from it? goodluck

  • I am not sure!

but i heard a story about an outdoor avocado that bore fruit in a town in the South of England!

    so Fingers crossed anyway :D

  • i hear mangoes can take years before they fruit but i live in the sonoran desert

  • Jealous!

  • hey nice vid!, how did you get around the problem of the seeds going mouldy?

  • well in this selection of plants that i grew the only ones that would tend to mould are mango's and pomegranate,

i scrape the flesh of the pomegranate with fingers or a wee knife

and the main thing for the mango is to break the seed out of the husk!! until you get the bean inside! then peel of the brown papery skin that covers half the seed!

take care not to damage the seed! especially the begining root, because if that root is damaged on a mango ther aint no way it will grow!

  • ah , thanks very much! i was planting the whole mango capsule lol. Much appreciated!

  • @AdamDLDixon

be aware that when you crack open the husk ther is a small piece of fibre attaching the bean to the inside of the husk! this is atached just before the root of the bean, and can damage the root easily!!

    take care!!

  • nice song....anyone know who's singing?

  • it is a great song XD

sung by Althea and Donna and its called Uptown Top Ranking

  • Hey remember me with the Commodore burnout videos?! well infact my actual main hobby is growing subtropical fruits in a temperate climate!. How amazing is that :p!. I've not been able to grow a mango outside but I have alot of fruiting Avocado trees growing here in the very fair South of Australia, alot I have grown and grafted myself (still cold although warmer than Ireland). Also have Cherimoyas fruiting outside and White sapotes etc. You might be able to grow Sapotes in Dublin maaaaaaybe

  • haha yea i remember you!! XD

    aw cool!!

your well lucky your Avocado are fruiting!

it will be a while for mine yet :L

I have no idea wat Cherimoyas are but i must find out XD

im getting the Sapote form Ebay!! XD

and yesterday my Theobroma Cacao arived and germinated!! =]

i also have germinated Dragon fruit and Chilli's!

iv got other cool things like coffee on the way XD

i wish u luck with your plants!!

  • this is so cool, i am trying to day the same thing! my avocado is doing really well and my apple seeds are just sprouting.. good job!

  • nice1!!

    they should do well! =]

iv started to germinate date seeds! i will get a video up wen they start!! XD

    thnx 4 watchin!

  • Nice! I have just planted some apple seeds and pear seeds from store bought fruit a while ago, and I'm going to see if they will grow or not. Ur making me hopeful xP

  • with a bita luck u should b fine!! =]

  • great line-up man! I've got 3 pineapples going atm (love them) but also love Kiwis (and not to mention everything else you have there). My niece was wondering if we could try growing some so I began (with her help) de-seeding the kiwi (soo tedious). We'll try the way you mentioned as well as another couple of ways (little experiment). But also, how'd you get the pomegranate seedling started? Any help would be great, just like this vid!

  • ah thnx!!

well Kiwis are realy easy! u should have no problems ther!

u might even get them outside if u live somewhere warmer than here! =D

il b putin mine out nxt year!

the pomegranate is awkward getting the seeds out!

after seeds r clean u can jus put them into a bottle with water and wait till u see the beginings of a root, then plant!

i did it this way and jus planting them straight away and they worked each way great!

My pomegranate now has 3 branches!

    XD

  • wow do you have a green thumb, thanks for the video

  • thnx!! :D

  • how did you get the kiwi to grow? just one little kiwi seed?

  • take a good few seeds from a kiwi! wash to make sure ther is no pulp!

put them in a bottle of water in a fridge for about 2-3 weeks then after that put them in a warm sunny place (still in the bottle of water) and they should start! once they start start planting them in pots! they get big fast!

i had about 200 kiwis germinating all at one time! i kept about 20 of the strongest seedlings!! XD

    hope this helped!!

  • awesome. thanks! hope they grow ok in ireland.

  • Very intresting video well done

  • thnx!! :D

  • They look beautiful, mate!

    Congratulations!

Pretty soon you will have plenty of fruits.

    Thanks for sharing!

    :D

  • haha Thanks!!

ther'll be a we while to wait yet before that yet!
