Un grande computer con magnifici programmi, purtroppo assassinato dai noi stessi utenti: troppi dischetti col titolo scritto a penna, in circolazione... (significativo che questo video cominci con la schermata di Xcopy ) Per dire: Popolus, tutti a lodare il grande gioco innovativo, appena 2000 copie vendute in tutto il mondo(!) CinemaWare: chiusa per mancate vendite, etc... Nello stesso periodo, Microsoft faceva prodotti schifosi ma vendeva per miliardi!

The scary thing is I've played every single one of these games. Good choices! If only Sony would release the PS3/4 as a fully functioning desktop computer with gaming capabilities we could inspire a whole new generation. The key to the Amiga's success was that the spec was the same in all of them. Modern PC games only perform as well as the upgrades you can afford. I miss those days.

@stewartdahamman That would be Lotus III - The Ultimate Challenge.  It's not that impressive in this game or complicated. It just colours up to the fixed horizon line (bottom of background image) in green and renders a fixed stretch of road in front of the car. It looks fairly shit when you're going downhill facing the ground since it leaves a massive gap between the clipping of road and horizon. Anyway, for you, infinity fucks up the calculations, just draw long enough to look infinite.

To the end of 80's, if just commodere release the opportunity to others for build and support commodore computers and hardware, maybe now... we would have all amiga on our desk office. The best computer ever built with the best os ever created.

Multitasking preemptive on a 880kb floppy... with the same features that windows had only on year 2000 and in 10 Gigabyte ! Amiga was 20 years ahead 20 years ago :-(

@inferno7654 Uhm, maybe. But remember back than that PC was a much bigger industry already and they where more powerful in hardware. The sound and graphics however was awful and the price was waay too high. Amiga performed well with limited hardware only because everything was designed for it. Soon the system became too hard to upgrade and in the long run it was not possible. But still it's impressive what you could do with 7 MHz and 1 MB RAM!

There was also Giana Sisters, and an underwater one called Treasure Trap. Most of them seem a bit clunky now, but in those days the graphics alone were streets ahead of anything on DOS or Apple.

Comunque e' vero un ragazzo di oggi non può capire...

@getpagesize did we have doom for the amiga 500 back in 1993? doom wasn't around in 1987 and i know the differences between games from 1987 and games released in 1993.. i was pointing out that amiga 500 never had games like doom..amiga games developers tried it in 1994 but could only do a few frames - thats why amiga 500 stuck to platform/scrolling games. the argument back then was that amiga was superior in graphics but not processing power.
