I'd love to see the original music for this. And i'd love to see how the words "Vibrato", "Rubato" and "Espressivo" never appear. lovely piece anyway :)
i yawned four times and burped at the very ending. fucking bourgeois boredom culture designed to make high brow snobs pretend they're so high above the sky and scare the ignorant laymen with its "delicacy" and "sophistication". i decree: to museums with that! the old horse is dead already. we want some fUck1n6 t!ts & a$s instead.
that must have been what glenn gould meant when he talked about how bach was the pinnacle of "spiritual" music - i never got it before. absolutely amazing.
@warwurm21 i understand how cantabile can sometimes represent an "out-of-time-liberty" which can be taken, but in the metrical baroque era, I'm pretty sure it was just for the purposes of expression.... I am not disagreeing, but only sharing my opinion.
@warwurm21 Perhaps the recording has it marked as such...according to the facsimile of the autographed manuscript, it is indeed only marked as "Adagio", if it makes you feel any better
@warwurm21 There are a lot of artists that wrote their music differently during their time like Vivaldi, Bach, etc, but it had to be translated to a more generally understood way of writing it, which is the only reason I can think cantabile got thrown in lol.
menuhin es y sera el mejor de todos en cantelena, los movimientos lentos son su especialidad, ES IMPRECIONANTE la caracterisitca que toma el para interpretar los movimientos lentos, simplemente ES EL MEJOR!!!!
@Kissfeet1 Could you please give me a link that contains the handwriting or a throughly same copy of Bach's piece that shows Bach really worte 40 second note as trill?
sometimes (especially with baroque pieces) it can be marked slightly differently depending on the edition you buy and which publisher it comes from, also because sometimes a few copies of the piece from that time have been found and so scholars are not always sure which tempo marking is the original intention of the composer.

Thx for sharing

He didn't.

The edition from which i learnt these ( Joachim and Moser ) contains a facsimile of the autograph score-this clearly shows only the word adagio.

@warwurm21 Yeah where did cantible come from? I don't hear singing type music here.

Yes, there is absolutely a trill at 40 sec. At least that is it says in my Edition Peters note :)
SuperSweetOda 2 years ago
Milstein, Szryeng, Heifetz, Kriesler all play trill at that moment. But interesting enough, i found a verison on internet without trill.
billythekid20 2 years ago
@billythekid20 trills are writed by bach. but without any resolution...
