That was a good song. Solid production and she performed it fantastic. Much better than Wild Animal. Songs on that one were at times melodically interesting but she was just not solid in her singing, she was just not there vocally and production was mediocre wanna-be Prince, but here she was developed a little more by the powers that were at the time at Motown.
She was pretty as a picture, slight of build, and a rumbling volcano of style, grace and charisma. Look at the clothes Vanity wore in this video. Imagine the courage it took to wear this outfit onstage, yet she did so with quintessential confidence, and every eye was glued onto her. What an entertainer. In some ways Vanity was like watching an atomic explosion: atoms firing off in all directions, clashing, working in unison in some kind of exotic nuclear fission. Truly, one of a kind.

I grew up on Vanity as a kid, and I'm 32. Anybody who were born in the whole 60s and 70s decade will know who Vanity is, meaning, been AROUND her during her peak, whether if you were a child, preteen, teen, or an adult.

don't know if anyone caught it but on labor day, vh1 soul played all the vanity 6 videos except of course "nasty girl" plus vanity's solo singles, apollonia's (except apollonia 6) and most of every video of every performer has either produced or worked with.

How could they not play "Nasty Girl?" What a half assed Vanity/Apollonia marathon!! I guess Prince told VH1 Soul "NO" on that one since both "Nasty Girl" and "Sex Shooter" were written and produced by him. Only other video Vanity 6 had was "Drive My Love Wild" and "He's So Dull", but he did'nt have anything to do with them. Vanity (as a solo artist only had 2 videos).

again, it's really sad to see his purple majesty hold the fans hostage like this. i used to work for a couple of small record labels and i know the business side of things can be frustrating as hell, but the fans really don't have a thing to do with it. i must admit i admired the way prince gave away his last cd in the british paper for free, very nice. but again, take the fight to the labels and don't screw the fans in the process. warners and sony are the enemies, not us..
