Much of the issue that I have with illegal (look at the il before the legal there) is based off of our terribly inefficient tax system. If we were to go to a fair tax, it would alleviate most of my concern, so long as that tax included money for socialized health care. Oft times it's the origin country that makes immigration so difficult.
I have no problem with immigrants.It doesn't matter what country or continent they are from and whatever reason they want to come into the United States whether it be vacation, work visa, to become a citizen, or whatever as long as they do it legally.

Not my favorite BS episode, but the experiment with the wall was telling. First, I am against ILLEGAL immigration. I live in Arizona with (Legal) Mexican immigrants and Hispanic Americans with no problems, but I have had friends experience SSN fraud by illegals using their info to get a job. And crimes committed by illegals face a revolving door. It is a real issue that can't simply be ignored. I say, if they want into this country: fine, but please come in the front door.

The other side of this coin is that these workers are not beholden to our wage laws and are therefore taken advantage of my companies who hire them for substandard wages. Too many people take it out on the immigrants. Yes, they do take illegal welfare benefits and no they don't pay taxes, but that is because the system is broken. Ask a legal immigrant about the process they took to become Americans and you'll be amazed. @Ecthelon the reason many people do not immigrate legally is that the process is a bureaucratic maze. paperwork, time, endless technicalities, etc. just think about how much of a pain it is to do something as simple as renew your driver's license or get information on transferring a professional license, e.g., admission to the bar, to a different state. that's not even a fraction of what the immigration process is.

@poolerboy0077 - I believe that illegals do steal identities for many reasons. The main reason that SS#s are taken so frequently by illegals is because they can get much higher paying jobs that way. When you attach your earnings to a person that is not receiving them, you run up their taxes by bringing them into higher brackets. Correcting this costs Government Agencies billions. Also, SS#s are often taken to get medical care, and get government hand outs, occasionally many accounts at a time.

While I don't agree with McNugget about an overwhelming volume of 'illegal' persons and how America can't handle it, etc., race is always a factor. Immigration policies are influenced by racist, classist ideas and CLEARLY need to change. I live in Arizona with (Legal) Mexican immigrants and Hispanic Americans with no problems, but I have had friends experience SSN fraud by illegals using their info to get a job. And crimes committed by illegals face a revolving door. It is a real issue that can't simply be ignored. I say, if they want into this country: fine, but please come in the front door.

We should have let everyone in earlier. All exclusion has done is prevent us from learning from each other, and expounding upon our uniquely positive and negative traits. It sounds utopian, but you can start small by just recognizing the people closest to you. I think, had we competed mentally and spiritually, (with a open mind) with our fellow humans the amassed knowledge would have served this earth's populace much more readily that any book or missive.

There is actually an incentive structure in place that makes it more common than not because of all the benefits of committing this crime assuming they do not get caught. Even if as little as 25% of all ID theft crimes are committed by illegals, it wipes out that tiny benefit of 7 billion. Plus that doesn't count medical services, and such.

When you attach your earnings to a person that is not receiving them, you run up their taxes by bringing them into higher brackets. Correcting this costs Government Agencies billions. Also, SS#s are often taken to get medical care, and get government hand outs, occasionally many accounts at a time.

Fact is the MAJORITY of ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS are sucking up our Social Services at an alarming rate, and while I don't know your tax situation I can tell you I AM PAYING TOO MUCH ALREADY! So the idea that someone in another country "Has as much right to be an American as you" is based on EMOTION, not FACT. Maybe you should deal with FACTS.

For one the only reason they are Illegal Immigrants is because we call them that. The majority of those 6.6 billion people either don't have land access to America or are happily in their own countries.
The majority of people who take advantage of Social Services are already full fledged and born American citizens who believe the system owes them something. The same people who go to church and pray for possessions and status.

If someone has a "Right" to be an American no matter where they live and once they get here they have a "RIGHT" to an education and a "RIGHT" to a house and a "RIGHT" to food and a "RIGHT" to fee health care...WHERE IS THE MONEY COMING FROM? What about someone in China who wants to be here, don't they have a "RIGHT" to a plane ticket to get them here?

You have no idea whatsoever what America was founded upon and what made America the great country it has become. Gonavy your family most likely came across the Atlantic ocean from Europe to seek a better life for your family. That is what these Mexicans are doing, they are coming over the border to make a better life for themselves and their families.

Yes I was born in America but if my family was not allowed to move here I would not have been born an American. I'm proud of being American and I don't think there is a greater country in this world.
These Mexicans not only should be allowed over the border but when they get here should become American citizens with all the awards and consequences of doing so. Force them to pay taxes and take jobs to contribute to our economy.

Instead people like you gonavy would rather instantly brand them criminals and force them to break our laws. If they were forced into citizenship they would no only gain our rights but also our burdens. They would have to sign up for the draft and pay our taxes. Unlike what they are doing now being paid under the table and contributing nothing to the rest of America but that is our fault not theirs.

This is from our Declaration of Independence as we declared ourselves a sovereignty. What bases do you see that Mexicans who want to be American should be denied this? They cost you money? That is our fault not theirs, they don't pay taxes because they cannot become citizens.

It doesn't say the golden visa that you overstay or the golden fence you climb over. Or the golden tracker trailer you hide in the avoid the border patrol. We have a golden door for a reason. The illegals are not concerned with defending our republic or becoming part of America. All the want is to make money and send it back home.

What are you 15? There is no such thing as earning a spot. The fact is that in America there is plenty of space for more people just look at the population density difference compared to Japan.
Having a larger tax paying and working population only makes the economy stronger. If we were to give them citizenship and government jobs such as maintenance of bridges and roads that are falling into decay it would only help to improve the economy.

Where did I say Soviet style? Every American citizen pays taxes and once made citizens they would have to pay taxes also. The more taxes paid the more money the government has. The average American is taxed 40% of their income every year with our crappy tax system.
IMHO the government makes enough money from taxes they just use it in the wrong way. We should be paying off the country's debt not putting ourselves into more debt.

Look it is not Americas fault for them immigrating to us it is Mexicos fault. If Mexico was a good place to live this wouldn't be happening but it clearly is not. Nothing short of annexing Mexico would fix the problem. In my opinion fuck it let them come to our country and pay our taxes and repair our bridges and do the jobs we won't.
