@shaina300 The glitter I use it pretty fine, so it does a really good job of sticking to a dry surface. If you're having trouble, though, you can always spritz your painting after your done to moisten it a little before applying the glitter :)
wow thank you for this wonderful looking unicorn, i just tried it for the first time and surprised myself in succeeding in making it look nice.
i've been wanting to try out your cool stuff, but i never had the right equipment, and however i've got a nice set of brushes, paints and spunges now, i can't seem to find any of the rainbow cakes in the shops in belgium, do you have any ideas of cheap online shops?
@shauniiixx I'm sorry, I don't know which shops ship internationally and which ones don't :( You can try sillyfarm. Since they're so big, I would be surprised if they don't ship internationally (although the shipping prices will probably be sky high)...
@lisajoyyoung i'll have a look, but as you say, i'm thinking the prizes will be very high, and since i'm only 18 and my job isn't that great, i don't have alot of fundings lol
anyways, thanks for replying and for making the most awesome video's ever :)
I went to Romania last week on a charity trip to help mentally and physically challenged orphans. We had face paint there so I decided to do this on my own cheek and some of the ''beneficiaries'' who we were working with loved it and so I painted it on them :) One of them even asked me to repaint it the next day for her!!! So THANK YOU!
hi Lisa, i found some Loew-Cornell brushes in a store the other day & i was wondering could use use canvas brushes on faces? they looked exactly like the ones that you use on here but i just wanted to make sure. you use the blue handled ones bt the Loew-Cornell brushes i saw were black handled........
@patlenora9 Yes, the Loew-Cornell brushes are art brushes made to use with acrylics and watercolors, but they work great for face painting too. I've never used the brushes with the black handles, so I'm not sure if they're good or not, but I can definitely recommend the comfort series (blue handles), and the white nylon ones with the yellow handles (sillyfarm sells them).
@Earthvibration360 Wolfe and Diamond FX are practically the same paint, so they work very well together (same goes for TAG). I really like Loew Cornell brushes. My favorites are the Comfort Series with the blue handle (I think it might be sable, but I'm not sure) and the white nylon with the yellow handles. The comfort series are hard to find but a few sites sell them. Sillyfarm sells the white nylon ones.
are you using oil base paint from mehron. your paint looks really glossy. i just ordered the black oil base one and wanted your opinion on it. i just started doing face paint. i love your video by the way!
@amarie1007 No, I'm using Diamond FX. It's glossy when it's wet, but dries to a more matte finish. I've never used oil based paints, but I probably wouldn't recommend them. I'm guessing that they don't fully dry, so they can be smeared easily by the child. Also, because they're oil based, they're probably harder to remove than water activated makeup. But, I've never used them, so if you end up loving it let me know :)
oil based cosmectic paints are what clowns use.. also commonly called grease paint and cream make up.. it has to be set with powder but once set it is pretty sturdy.. thats why clowns use it.. they sweat alot.. for actual face painting i would recommend water activated paints, it is MUCH easier to work with and alot easier to get off.. as far as grease paint goes- i have a clown friend who likes mehron
Hi Lisa. I am 60 & just started to face paint,I am a balloon artist 2, U R the best,I watch you everyday to try & get tips, I have mastered the unicorn on my arm I use WB white,WB black,WB pink,#1round #6 round, I cannot paint a butterfly on a childs face, can you PLEASE show me a no fail easy way to make a beautiful butterly, boys faces I am great at, girls is another story, I go to do parties with my daughter she is a great artist, you are the best and I need your help,Thanks Nana Sandra
@BekahCat I have used used Mehron and I think it's a great paint, especially for bases. It's super creamy and blends easily. Because of it's creamy consistency though, it uses up quickly and some of the colors aren't so great for line work.
really nice..... and fast.. thanx for the idea... will use it next time
