1945 Demobilization Benefits were today’s equivalent of 686 dollars a WEEK for 52 weeks to be supplanted by Room & Board for 1,430 dollars a month plus ALL university fees for the duration, to include a master’s program if so selected. The cost-of-living amount was 50% more if a beneficiary had 1 or more dependents, to include a spouse and/or children.
There was NO deduction or accumulation from pay during a GI's service for this, it was full & automatic.
