This power slide was not perfect at all. The driver over rotated and lost foreword momentum. BTW, the rear tire width of the GT3 looks narrow. Could be the rules, but a racing GT3's tires would have filled the fender thus reducing the oversteer.

he passed him after the drift... so the title is WRONG :) And another thing... it wasn't perfect. Perfect powerslide is entering the turn sideways and decrease the slide as the turn continues and as the throttle begins to open. Powersliding can give You extra lateral grip, but only at small angles.

@Caiosniper1 Both drift and powerslide causes the back wheels to spin loose, the main purpose for a drift is aesthetics and aims to get the car sideways for longer duration, but powersliding is mostly to carry momentum through a corner without slowing too much (harking back to rallying roots). Given tire and anti-lag developments since 2000s driving without breaking traction is usually faster, but for sheer flamboyance the 997's turn is awesome. Hope that helps.

Again, great observation from your end, I must have misread your "he still passed didn't he?".

1) The car in front with the right signal indicator on signaling the faster 911 to pass.

2) "Good show boating" indicates my appreciation of the drift.

3) With dry asphalt, drifting and spinning the wheels on a rear-heavy 911 means heating up the rear tires, and at the same time not gaining any time advantage. Hence "bad use of grip".
