Fantastic flight, Matt! I have thought a lot about a flight to tidewater from Bishop, say to Oceano or Santa Barbara, but no more than thought about it and looked on Google Earth. Also wanted to fly west across Sierra but haven't done that either!
Brian didn't fly to Mt Whitney; that is ~100 nm south. He crossed at the Merced Crest and headed north to Truckee. I was over Tuolumne Meadows that day as he was climbing out of Yosemite Hidden Lake. Ther ehave been no other west to east crossings from the southern coast ranges that I know of.

Yeah, with one hand on the stick and pushing hard it is sometimes tough to focus on the camera work. I usually mount the camera for photo sessions.

Nice video. You might want to ask Brian Choate (DG) about the FIRST flight from Hollister to Whitney... and beyond to Truckee.
