  • man I have problem I make cd for ubuntu and I want to boot that cd but my comp os like no cd it just go and boot my windows I hit f12 cos I saw some guys tell that to do an noting I did del and try with my bios to boot my cd and that dint work 2 pls tell me what to do

  • @TheKlisa you can try f8 or f2 too. did you burn the cd correctly? if you view the contents of the cd in windows you should see several files on the cd, not one file ending in .iso. you can use a programme called BurnCDCC from snapfiles to burn it correctly if you need it. good luck.

there's always the wubi installer for windows too if you really need it, but using a cd is a better option.

  • @jdhf983y4uhu no problem is when I do BIos I cant set to boot I dont know what is problem :///// I do everting I search on internet I do del find boot and I dont have anyting called boot from cd/dvd?? pls help

  • @TheKlisa the BIOS should detect the dvd drive, it should be there somewhere. i know the frustration computers can be though lol.

i don't use windows, but are you sure you are entering the BIOS? maybe you are in that windows safe mode? try some other options at boot F1, F2, F10, Ctrl+Alt+Esc etc.

google this 'Comprehensive List of How (Key to Press) to Access BIOS for Various OEM and Computer Systems'

  • Thank you verry much it worked :D !

  • @Theipod141 my pleasure

  • yeah i set it too boot from cd dvd it doesnt work i can boot linux of a thumb drive thats it i just installed zorin os on my hdd just to have a os but i want to get windows on there i cant boot from any cds not even my labtop recovery cd i put my hdd in a desktop and got the grub rescue error thats as close as ive got

  • my labtop wont boot from cd 4 some reason so im going to take the hard drive and format from a windows computer as ntfs

  • @Jdwill1014 nononono it wont help. u just have to chnge the settings in bios boot menu. formatting the hard drive wont help u because the hard drive is not related to your situation in any way!! your pc is set to skip checking the cdrom for bootable os. thats it. contact me and do not do things wrong

  • i want to completely remove grub so i can put windows on my hdd someone help

  • @Jdwill1014 just install windows, it should remove grub. at least if everything goes ok. it s a common issue when u install windows over linux it deletes grub. if any problems, u can post a question here

  • Thanks so much i will try!!!!

  • Hey man i made a video of what my laptop was doing how do i fix thanks

  • @1996Rcman mu guess is that your file system is corrupted. bad install. i suggest you need to boot from the cd again and choose "try ubuntu without install". when u r done with the boot and see the desktop. in "places" menu u have to roght click your actual partition on the hard drive where ubuntu is installed and click "check for errors" or something similar. that should do the trick. if u have any questions - ask. i will reply quickly

  • cheers mate

i hope u will enjoy linuxing

    penguin forever

  • thank you

    it worked for me

    woot

  • Thanks for sharing, I hope this will do the trick!

  • @yooyoomine no ive used knoppix as a live cd and it worked quite fine

  • @yorgos15 i cant wish more! have a good day!

  • hey i get acces denied error when installing

  • hey guys

could any one plz tell me where to put acpi=off at the GRUB menu coz i press e and dont know where and how to put it .. thx in advance

  • @3issa318 after u press "e" it will open for u couple of text lines, scroll with your keyboard down and when u get to the words "quiet splash" put acpi=off leaving a space between the word splash and acpi=off. then hit ctrl+x to boot. any othet help? send me a message

  • hey guyz anybody tell me plzzzz how to fix this error on ubuntu software center i have install any software show this error an unhandlable error how to fix

  • @imadsaidbhai which error? no apic etc.. in software center?

  • @imadsaidbhai try to add "noapic nolapic no dmraid nomodeset acpi=off edd=on" to the file, to get all covered. and see what happens

  • Cool, but how would you write it on Grub if you have both acpi=off and No acpi disabled on Ubuntu 10.04 after installation?

  • @AeroClash i guess did not understand what u were saying...

  • @yooyoomine What I meant was how to you write both acpi=off AND noapic on the gedit.

  • @AeroClash ah, got ya! you just leave a blank space between them, like ".... splash acpi=off noapic"

  • @yooyoomine ok, I try to update grub now but then I receive an error. "/etc/default/grub: 9: noapic: not found" Interesting enough when I put acpi=off on degit by it self it updates perfectly but with noapic by it's self i still get the same error. Any ideas dude?

  • @AeroClash Never mind. I solved it. I had noapic outside of the "quiet splash". It updated perfectly. Thanks for the video!

  • @AeroClash wierd, should work, any changes to the order of the words helps? maybe duplicate this line and make it look like: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi=off"

    GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash noapic"

  • My Kernel Panic was caused by init being missing, I guess.

  • @ZAyAZRUS i dont really know but i posted a link on your channel, maybe it would be helpful for u..

  • Спасибо Олег, полезная информация.

  • @MrLocatorUA na zdorovya!
