We played this in our high school band. I've listened to both of the recordings and find this to be excruciatingly awful! Tubas dragging, flutes out of tune... Sheesh!

But we were the honors band, so for middle schoolers, these kids are actually really good.

my sophomore year of high school we played this for the honor band piece at a band competition...honestly, it was one of my favorite pieces i've ever played...and i've been in band for nine years...you guys did a really good job for being in middle school...i don't think i could've ever done this in middle school...i knew basically nothing about band in middle school...good job, you guys

So last year, my advanced band (8th grade level) played this and we definitely owned these guys. It's not THAT hard though it is a little tricky - I must say. Our third movement was sloppy but their trumpets rushed like CrAzY! And flutes and clarinets are rushing in the first one but still..really good for a middle school.

In the first movement, either the Clarinets are rushing or the horns are too slow. I like this song, and we are playing it my freshman year of high school, and you guys go much faster than we do. Very good otherwise! :) I play clarinet too.

We had to work on this song the entire year because people wouldn't learn their parts. I myself had the entire forst and second movements memorized, because we practiced so much. We got lucky the judges didn't mark us down for speeding up at the end of the third movement. But it was fun because the song was so cool.
