@kawaiinekochick2 My state you can get a concealed carry permit for handguns after a few classes. Its perfectly legal to walk around with a loaded AK47 in your hand so long as its visible, but they may get you for disturbing the peace or other charges. Wouldnt recommend it, you will get hassled by the cops for it.

Rape, domestic violence, and paedophilia are in many ways worse than just shooting someone. The physical and mental abuse that results from these is torture for all the victims involved. The shame and the fact that victims have no one to turn to...not even their immediate family or friends makes it worse. Check out Al Jezeera english and journeymanpictures here on youtube. The latter has some info on rape the other has info on domestic violence. Not trying to rant but this info is important.

Rape is a big problem in Japan. As is domestic violence. It is probably alot worse than in the west due to the fact that women have very few places to turn to and the government does little to stop these crimes. There are activists trying to combat these but they don't have the funding nor the backing of the male dominated society. paedophilia is also huge. There are clubs with 15 and 16 year old girls in school uniforms with no panties on that cater to men.

The "Akihabara" incident was an extreme oddity. Committed by one of Japans many Hikikomori (agrophobic bedroom dweller). He ran over 5 peeps, killed 3, then jumped out & stabbed 12, killing 4.

Worrying about something like this would be like worrying about a Martin Bryant springing out from behind a tree while your touring Port Douglas (Oz worst massacre).
