@beautywolfy - not very soft (except around the nose) - the visitors were allowed to touch Adolpho when he was carried to the lawn and sometimes he curiously ran away a bit from the keeper to the visitors. :)

@Trebgah - well this is only a Anteater baby - when they are grown they are huge and can kill a human with one slash of their enormous claws. Such an incident happened in a Zoo in South America a few years ago.

Adorable, but a fully grown giant anteater did accidentally kill a 19 year old zookeeper in Brazil. Since they have very poor eyesight, anteaters will sometimes mistake people for predators. Claws used for ripping open terminte mounds are just as easily used in self defense.
