Very Nice tutorial. Just wondering if an explanation of 'Vx' and 'Vy' would be beneficial for those who don't know what they are. :-)

Hi,
In america, do you use the same tailnumber shortening Technique as the UK?
Here in the UK we take the prefix and the last two suffix of the tailnumber.
Golf bravo juliet whisky lima would become Golf Whisky lima.
So would aircraft registered in the US be something like -
November seven six zero papa lima
November papa lima?
Thanks
Joe

There's no reason to short yourself a few feet of runway, especially if the runway is short to begin with.
