  • looks a bit like liam neison

  • I have just finished reading "Shantaram", an outstanding product of sensitivity and art, and Gregory David Roberts is finally the person who embraced the universe!

  • I disagree with his opinion on Madonna. I think she seems full of herself, which leads me to believe that she is out of touch with reality. She doesn't appear to be as humble and kind as he says, but I have never met her. The book was great. I absolutely loved it and would recommend it to everyone. I to did not want it to end. I'm surprised that there will be a part two.

  • I read the last 200 pages really slow, because i didn't want it to end!!! Amazing story!!

  • @shelzbelz84 Same I'm really trying to push it too te very last end... 60 more pages:( I want another part :D

  • im reading Shantaram ryt nw. its a fuking amazing book. so hard to put down

  • Shantaram is really the most awesome book, what's more, most of it is the true life of the author's experience. And his words' so beautiful.

When will it being adapted to movie? i've waiting for it since 2008

  • This is the most beautifully written book I've ever read. I'm such a critical reader, and I could not fault this book... not for grammar, vocabulary, plot, pace, drama, characters - it's perfect. I lament that I read it so early on in my life, because now what? Where to from Shantaram?... nobody knows! Gregory David Roberts, your writing is like music to my soul. Thank you for this piece of literary genius. Please keep writing so I can finally find another book that measures up! LOVE YOUR WORK!

Can't wait for the movie, I hope it's a true reflection of the magic that is Shantaram.

  • Shantaram is an amazing book. Rumour has it that the sequel 'The Mountain Shadow' will be published in February 2010.

  • wow, cannot imagine a man of this great talent worked in mumbai underworld, lived in indian slums and took a piece of the experience and made a wonderful book out of it. Even Indians would be amazed at this feat of his

  • Anjali Rao will be back soon...

  • When people read a large book, if it isn't good they sometimes pretend that it is good. They need to justify spending that amount of time on a large book; the psychological term for this called 'cognitive dissonance'. There is absolutely no need for that though when you read "Shantaram", it is one of the best books I've ever read. It is so engaging on many different levels; a very rich work. Every bit of time you invest in it is worth it.

  • His book "Shantaram" is one of the most awesome reads you'll ever come across...

  • you can see when this guy talks that he is a very intelligent man and has alot of experience
