elton John was right about americans and fashion, not only are americans(not EVERYONE but..) that way about clothing, they are that way about music, and anything and everything else!,im an American, but i am not the typical judgemental and close minded person. if something is different its 'Weird' and they want nothing to do with it,again i dont mean this about everyone in America.
Um excuse me, but am I the only one that was offended by what that retarded conformist monkey: ELTON JOHN said about american fashion, yes i do agree with him about the bad rep Bjork's dress got, I personally loved it.... But I mean he called America: "The Land of Ralph Lauren", yes we are the Land of Ralph Lauren, we are also the land of Marc Jacobs, I admire Ralph Lauren's fashion but Alexander Mcqueen (who appeared in the previous video to this) has always been my favorite designer. Ignorant
yes but he meant even though the desginers you mention here, are popular in America, people see Alexander Mcqueen's things and say 'thats so weird" and thats how anyone who knows nothing about art (since Fashion has become art) say, becuase its not jeans and a plain t shirt or a pretty dress the think its 'weird'
sure, but still its a very 'All american' type of clothing.its not art or avant garde, and artists who dare to be different and live art,are criticized in America all the time, where in japan or the UK its praised( most of the time)
@955pokerface Yeah its not too avant-garde , which is the point, but there is a lot of clothing that can be perceived as such, that IS praised, i mean of course dumb tabloid magazines are complete devoid of any true judgement... but dont forget Anna Wintour's VOGUE is american, and like I said i lived in Europe, when I was younger, Italy, Florence and visited my grandparents a lot, who lived in Milan, so I could be described as not american or European or Italian or whatever. i miss milan :(
People like me, já? Is that what you call a non sequiteur (sp?)? Funny enough people like me still buy CD's even though they hate how the industry is run. You've made an assumption about me. Here is a nonsequiteur for you: you must be an American, making base assumptions during a civil disagreement. I am not making excuses for those who choose to torrent themselves into a coma, as an artist myself I love when someone says they heard me from a download og that is why they came to my show.
I think bjork herself even talked about this debate over stealing music vs. buying it. i think she has said that although she doesn't like it when people steal her music off the internet, at least it is still HER voice, and nowadays i think she uses the internet to her advantage, because believe it or not people still do buy the CD's even if they can easily swipe it online. for the most part, the artists still make money, the fans still buy the albums, and not all is gloom and doom.
She most certainly did, you are spot on my dear, and you basically summed up what she said perfectly. Indeed, not all is gloom and doom. I'm happy that you pointed this out, as I had originally intended to bring it up og then long forgot about bringing it up to the point that I nearly forgot that she had said something about it at all!!! Thanks for bringing it up elskan.
Once again, as I've stated, Royalty cheques amount to chicken feed, the majority of an artists earnings come from touring, as*any* artist on any label. From the up and coming to the well established, royalty cheques amount to pocket change. You state „I promise you", do you work in the industry like I do or are you merely stating what you feel og presenting it as fact. I assure you things are no different from us Icelandic artists than for others artists.
she is speaking about his youth in the eighties when the rebellion of the punk. then further on it clarifies that, on having returned to his roots with homogenig, so he will like or not the classic thing always serious part of his work
People make their livings creating these things. Why do you believe that you should just get it all for free? If people don't stop just ripping off everything that everyone makes, no one is going to make it anymore. The monster here is the public that is just completely ignoring the rights of people who create music and movies and such.
The fact is that people like you merely defend the labels that rip off the artists by not paying them accordingly for their work. don't kid yourself thinking that you are defending the artist because you are not. The artist makes the majority of money on tours og merchandise, not from each CD sold. The money made from each CD sold is chicken feed. The monster you refer to is not the public, it is the ravenous corporate structure known as the Music Industry at Large not the public.
mainly the live preformance

I think that it is good to be able to receive all the possible information about she.
in my country it is one the companies alone bring garbage and very little good thing
I don´t have physically the old albumes of sigur rosnor neither the family tree

the system infects all these companies with the plague they will die very quickly squashed by all this shit that they sell.
I love this woman and everything what it does
when you can find at least a person who is capable of expressing freely everything else to him stops having importance.
