  • One of Dylan's best tunes...Love this

  • @Lorijanean Dylan never rocked it like this!

  • Yep, she was on LSD.

  • Always loved the tunes they put out and this cover is excellent, many great memories and times we had bless you turtles.

  • Adorable!

  • The hot blonde birds are all grannies now. Time is a horrible thing.

  • @Hakiblack not if you are wayne rooney

  • @Hakiblack ~Oh man, that should be carved in stone. So incredibly true. It never seems possible when one is young to ever comprehend that or when watching a piece of film when one is actually eternally young encased in celluloid.

  • @Hakiblack no no no

  • @Hakiblack Sorry but I still look pretty damn good Check out the gazzarridancer website and see. hahaha De De Mollner

  • @dancergazzarri Yeah, you seriously do. I had a look at the website, De De, and by god you're a lovely looking woman. (nice horse by the way.)

(Apologies if you found the whole granny thing offensive. Because it's bullshit, you're gorgeous.)

  • Check out the the drum in the back. do you think that was an accident?

  • I want to see a picture of the blonde today

  • I'm related to the janitor

  • omg those girl dancers have cloths on :O !

  • The blonde is DeDe Molner who danced for the Gazzarri Dancers. A lovely lady who danced on many many videos.

  • I THINK THAT BLONDE GO - GO DANCER WANTED TO GET IN THE TURTLES SHELL. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

  • I'm related to the drummer

  • 16 LOSERS...what r u listening too.must be...R.A.P.sh*t. LOSERS.. This a great song from the greatest time in music..the 60's

  • @a51hawks that's dumb shit, worrying who doesn't like a song!

Great song though and I hope you enjoy it.

  • @a51hawks Yes, but they don't sing it as well as Dylan.

  • One of my friends knows them!

  • 16 people got put on their backs, and couldn't get up.

  • so much derp in the 60s. still great though

  • They completely make this song and melody rock !!

  • Its 1965 and all hell's about to break loose.

  • Mark Volman (glasses) and Howard Kaylan (born Kaplan) (lead singer) , great guys then and now.

  • @MrTrashcan1 so is al nichol the guitarist! :)

  • Cant wait, Iam seeing the Turtles at the Wi State Fair in a week!

  • I only know this song by Storybox but the original version is much better :)

  • You've got to crank up the volume on this video. It's the 60's solid state generation for goodness sake...Crank it...Dan O'Niallain

  • No Mamen tanta mieerrrrrrdaa en un solo "grupo musical"

  • I think that blonde girl had to much coffee

  • The singer looks like John Belushi.

  • Look at the brother in the back diggin' the tune!!...cool...

  • LOL at 1:38 the rhythm guitarist is mesmerized by the blond rocking out.

  • @MervynCruddy LMAO!! The look on his face cracks me up. That boy is in a love trance!!

  • Great song!

  • @bpyslikegirlsfan - Dylan writes a great song, but he can't sing for $hit!

  • @JJN259 Thats the most ignorant thing I've ever heard. So youre saying that Springsteen can't sing either? If it wasnt for Dylan there would be no springsteen, cobain etc etc.

  • @Curtiskryptonite21 -- really? The MOST ignorant thing you've ever heard?! You've led a very sheltered life! Where in my post did I mention Springsteen? Putting words in someone's mouth might be considered even more ignorant! I am totally entitled to my opinion that Bob Dylan is not only a very unattractive person but he can't sing for $hit. I did give him credit for writing great songs though.

  • @JJN259 Yes it is the most ignorant thing I've ever heard & then calling somebody unattractive is just icing on the cake. I used Springsteen as an example. You should go & stand in front of an oncoming vehicle for your idiotic remarks. You'd be better off. I assume you are a pro singer & multi platinum artist/producer to be able to say with authority that bob dylan cannot sing. I also assume you are a modelling agent as well. Since when do looks=talent? You & your opinions are disgraceful.

  • @Curtiskryptonite21 - struck a nerve with ya, huh? I don't need to be a pro singer to know that he is a MUCH BETTER songwriter than a singer, although I am vocally trained and have been in recording studios. Not a modeling agent, but have worked as a paid model. Any more questions?

  • @JJN259 Struck a nerve? Ha ha you've been "in recording studios" - in other words you're a failed wannabe singer, tried to make it and FAILED. And you have the nerve to criticize Bob Dylan? A man who changed the entire landscape of popular music, created his own genres, influenced 3 generations of artists & even found time 2 impact the civil rights movement all in 1 lifetime. I never said he was the greatest singer but what you said was that "he can't sing for shit" which is just plain ignorant.

  • @Curtiskryptonite21 -- Call me ignorant while you just assume away that I'm a wanna singer and that I've failed. LOL! You know what they say when you ASSume, right? You're totally entitled to your opinion. For me, he can't sing for $hit. No use having a pissing contest. You won't change my mind and I won't change yours. Just agree to disagree.

  • @JJN259 I agree. He's like Kristofferson--a great songwriter, but a lousy singer.

  • Turtles Trivia -- During the Nixon era the Turtles performed at a White House party because they were Tricia Nixon's favorite band.☺

  • That one chick in front of the band is ridiculous! Haha, she's just goin nuts but havin fun.

  • @rci30 -- That blonde chick is HOT and she's dancing, not going nuts! Nothing ridiculous about that. FYI, the Turtles also appeared in Frank Zappa's 2oo Motels movie.

  • For obvious reasons ( look at the hell and devastation they have perpetrated on the earth, while feigning innocence and playing victim the whole time!) I don't like jews, New Jersey or otherwise! But from 1967-1970, these guys REALLY had it going! They put scum like Lady Gag-Gag to shame!

  • they joined zappa and did a couple of albums on their own, under flo and eddie, music boy

  • did they put the bass drum upside-down on purpose? xD

  • Its always so hard to let someone you care for know there just not the right one for you...I guess I was a coward and couldn't tell them. So I just stop returning there calls. How do you tell them there just too young??or maybe its just that I'm too old??

  • Comment removed

  • Flo and eddy with zappa on live at filmore

  • Why is the logo on their bass drum upside down? tsk tsk tsk ...☺

  • @WytZox1 It seemed to be pretty common that their logo was upside down. I guess it was just something different just like the Turtles :-)

  • Flo & Eddie rule the known world!

  • That Biatch is ROKING!!!!!

  • @TheDUKEoYORK yeh, she is a rockin go go dancer and had more than just too much coffee!!!! Back in the 60's anything goes baby

  • If they were to make a Bio movie about The Turtles the casting of lead singer could be Nicholas Brendan (Criminal Minds) if he can sing of course.

  • @majik2hanz ...and I think that "Phoebe" from FRIENDS should play the blonde dancer :-)

  • @100jules

Yes good casting! Jon heder from Napoleon Dynamite would be the other singer with fro and glasses : -)

  • 1:37 He's obviously staring at the blond chick lol!

  • It's the Turtles-Crank It! It's not loud enough but it's a great video...Dan O'Niallain

  • I remember this when it was a hit. I always thought it was a heavily Byrds influenced version of the Dylan song. Blond chick is hot.

  • The blonde chick is a stone cold cutie...Howard is doing all he can not to notice her antics too much.....

  • #122 The Turtles - It Ain't Me Babe best songs of the 60s

  • The dancers really make this video! LOL

  • Comment removed

  • The very first song recorded on the "White Whale" label...

  • Blonde chick is really going all out ...

  • @ryancadams excellent loved your sentence about their souls slowly draining away. Something folks may not be aware of lot of music starts out pure from the soul of man from creations well, then when mass marketing gets into the act a forced ,sorry, loud, extreme, version becomes rammed up the ass and nervious system of the population. The decline of civilizations because of being obbsessed with the three material traps ( greed, lust, worship of money can be reflected in the music .

  • 0.15 is he supposed to be dancing? lol

  • the name Turtles on the drum kit is upside down. lol

  • Dylan himself did the best version, but I can;t find it anywhere on YT.

  • I love this song. Never knew the title or who sang it until now. I always heard it on oldies radio. I love 50s and 60s music.

  • Very cute dancing girls!

  • @cattymanly thanks

  • Damn - I tossed all my turtle neck shirts.

  • A great version of a Bob Dylan song

  • after watchin this...now i know why my mums dances like the way she does...exactly like the woman in the striped top...it must be a 60's thing!!

  • Now I know why Zappa hired them.

  • There is, they’re called Flo and Edie! Playing that Nixon wedding just wasn’t a good career move guys!

  • @RSBSTEADICAM Playing the white house is an honor they couldnt get the beach boys for the nixon wedding because they were already booked the beach boys did perform at the white house after the james watt fiasco someone wanted elvis to play the white houase but they wouldnt pay enough money

  • Blonde chick looks like Gwen Stacy from Spiderman; apparently the goblin didn't kill her after all!

  • quality stinks

  • Is this the original or a Johnny Cash's cover?

  • @HyakuhachiPoundHou The original was Bob Dylan.

The hit was the Turtle's version.

    Johnny Cash's version is good.

  • Hell no. Why, why, why? I mean I like The Turtles, but groups like them just need to leave songs like this to the country singers where they belong.

  • love the blonde dancing. makes the song more enjoyable with her there

  • love the blonde dancing. makes the song more enjyabler with her there

  • I think I saw that blonde dancer at a Grateful Dead concert once.

  • I love how I can easily dance to this rendition of "It Ain't Me Babe". It enables me to comfortably dance along to my contempt.

  • early flo & eddie

  • Is that Courtney Love?

  • @rmtmiller cant be courtney love she was born in 1964 this video was done late 60's or early 70's courtney would have been around 8 or 10 yrs. old .this blonde has to be 18 at least or older.

  • @rmtmiller I'm thinking Teri Garr.

  • hannstv.....I remember watching this on tv & thought the same ,,,What a song, what a girl !!(blonde girls always got more attention) For I also grew up in the 50's & 60's and witnessed the comlete evolution of Rock.I feel sorry for the kids today because they hv NOTHING with which to compare!!Lets go back, if only for a weekend!

  • Is the bass drum suppose to be upside down?

  • @Morticia1n Yes the drum was often upside down but I'm not sure why.

  • as one who lived in the time, you can't believe how sexy we thought that blond was!

  • no one can touch dylan

  • @bpyslikegirlsfan334 True, everyone does his songs better, Byrds, Hendrix, Turtles etc

  • @bpyslikegirlsfan334

    Yeah. Right.

    All along the watchtower.

    -Jimi

  • @bpyslikegirlsfan334 I think you will find that Dylan got touched a long time ago.

  • Comment removed

  • @bpyslikegirlsfan334 How about Jimi Hendrix doing All Along the Watchtower?

  • @bpyslikegirlsfan334 - Welllll, I'm a long time Dylan fan, and I love him and his style but there have been many, many artists who have done his songs excellent. This is a great poppy version which made in on the charts, not sure how far up. You should check out the Byrds. They made hits of a few Dylan songs. Dylan is probably the greatest lyricist of all time. The volume of work he did and the many people who covered it ranged from Johnny Cash to Jimi Hendrix and all kinds in between.

  • @bpyslikegirlsfan334 ..... this isn't someone trying to touch Dylan!!! This is a very good group honoring what Dylan was accomplishing at the time. The Turtles version of this song is as significant as The Byrds' Mr Tambourine Man or Peter Paul & Mary's Blowing In The Wind. You have to lighten up This is GREAT and Dylan even liked it.

  • @SEVFEST I agree with you but with respect, Peter Paul & Mary's Blowin In The Wind was god awful. It was as cheesy as hell & as far away from Dylan's intent as you could ever get. The Byrds did a good job with TM but their version sounds dated now (aside fro the gr8 intro riff) whereas I think Dylan's still holds up.

  • @bpyslikegirlsfan334 Amen to that! The Turtles version is seriously cheesy even by their standards!

  • @AdaliaMay Dylan released it in 1964 on Another Side of Bob Dylan, Cash released it in 1965 on Orange Blossom Special.

  • wht cant there be a band this good today ?

  • @baseballeddie1177 Mainly because...before vocal pitch correctors and cut and paste computers to fix mediocre or bad wanna-be artists to make them sound good...and MTV hawking a video image of cokkie cutter acts...you actually HAD to have some talent to sound good in a recording studio with only 4 tracks and/or when you performed live without tricks to cover up your weaknesses.

  • @baseballeddie1177 It's called Dr. Dog.

  • @baseballeddie1177 because certain circumstances in the world make people think differently, so they fell different and make different music.... it sucks but one can't change the world.

  • @jdf17 ummm actually johnny cash and june carter were the first on this song....

  • I can't stop laughing at the dancers! Love the song.

  • That blonde is a skank and a half ain't she? LOLLLLLLLLLLLL

  • @efzt I think her dancing is a sixties iconic scene and she is very cool here.

  • I love the fat guy haha

  • @arlendixon Hope you are not making fun of Mr. Volman. He is a classic act and a class guy in person. He and Mr. Kaylan still put on great shows on the road. You should see them if they come to your town.

  • I vote yes on the blond,...HOT. 'Hey babe,..can we talk about my drawings,...you have good lines and a sketch of you could make us millions'

  • NICE MOVES GIRL...

    AHAHAHAHAHH!

  • This is a really good song and I dig the crazy dancing!! There's a short clip of The Animals performing this on U.S tv in 1965 . Eric Burdon and his boys sound Great!!!

  • @jimbot2007 the dance is called the jerk.and that blonde is the best i have ever seen at it.i dated a girl in 1968 that was good at doin the jerk.but this blonde on this video has more moves than a snake.

  • @phsgradpride The blonde is actually doing a variation of The Hitchhike and The Monkey. The guy in front of her is actually doing The Jerk.

  • i want the blondes telephone number

  • That blonde knocks the shit out of me!!! :) classic song and classic blonde!!!

  • Not sure he was laughing at the dancer, all the dancers were doing the same thing, but you could go to Howards facebook and ask him yourself.
