ok ive heard all these different theories like if you select one of the other players before the match starts u have the option to kick them (never seen that happen). Also, my screen has blinked twice, my grenades spin, the counter went to six, but Im pretty sure I wasnt host all those times I got one or all of these hints...so how are you ABSOLUTELY sure you are the host?

number 2 isnt true and also if when you are picking a map and the votes go up to 6 instead of 5 then your host and also if it blinks at 0 twice when you are picking the map then you are also host- i get host 99% of the time

other method to tell if you're host (or to find out who is host):

Whoever is running around 1 shotting people and shooting almost twice as fast as everyone else

Whoever has way more kills/less deaths than the rest of the players

Whoever you shot 4 times for them to turn around and one pump you instantly

The Rank 17 with 23 kills and 4 deaths

This video misses the TWO MAIN ways to see you have host.

1). After selecting your weapon the counter flashes and makes the countdown noise on 0:00 (DOESNT FOR NON HOST).

2) Your grenade rotates end over end when you throw it.

Guys I had this hude thing in gow2. After the patch with the smokes were you dont fall right?? Well it was king of the hill and at 6 seconds of the match the game stopd and lagged for 10 seconds and I saw a few people on my team put smokes everywhere than excatly after that the lag came than we started to fall on smoke grenades. Was it a huge lag or some lag switchers plz tell me.

just the connection is bad.. tends to happen when you get into a game with host that has a crap connection.. like the majority of things go wrong, you will find on some connections, you can still melee people when running etc..

Yeah it hapens when you get a ridicules ratio compared to others and if your connection lags.

My advice is if you get host use it to practice your aim or just mess around...Try not to do 2 good X[)

@redblazer108 Actually, If I remember correctly it doesn't depend on how well they do, but rather how inconsistent the connection is. If the connection constantly drops and spikes, it is a telltale sign of a lagswitcher. Epic punishes those players by giving them a temporary host ban and no XP for the match.

it does it cos your connection is probably that bad the system thinks it a standbye button, it happend to my mate and he changed ISP and now its fine for him, plus is a nice connection now unlike how it were! lol

i dont think the host advantage will be fixed. cause it goes off your connection right? they cant speed up everybody's connection to the host. it depends on how far away the host lives from all the people playing in his game. say you live in kansas, you'd get a better connection to a host living in colorado than one that lives in california. cause they live closer.

It's hard to be host when you are doing solo/random parties. You probably get a higher chance with host if you had your own party, but then you can't control the other teams from forced hosting. This is why this game sucks ball with the hosting advantages.
