  • awesome

  • i am amazed at the fine quality dancing of indian ppl

  • For people who dont understand...She is depicting both Lord Shiva and Parvati in the video her right movements are feminine Parvati and left is Masculine Shiva in a form of Ardhanareeswara.

It invokes that there is masculnity in the female and feminity in the male. The male part is Shiva and Female part is Parvati. One is Supreme God and the other Supreme Goddess. Both are interdependent and interrelated. They complete the vaccum in the other.

  • Anyonnee...pls help... why the lyrics differ for the same songs?

for eg. here by, cs. 5 mins, its not "pancha baaNa" but 5 pieces or sg else than arrow :( :-/

  • why would anyone wish this heritage to disappear?

  • beauty at its best !!... i wish i could have seen the whole vedio - ( there seems to be some editing done... )

  • not bad..

  • I love this style of costume. They're especially hypnotizing in large performances, where the illusion is almost one of giant beautiful birds flashing their bold colorings. Just divine :D

  • The dancer is Medha Hari.

    Her full videos are on w w w. JayQ. o r g

Many of my joints never moved in these directions.

  • I have a few of her DVDs from many years ago. She really inspired to learn Bharatanatyam! Her dancing is so clean, fluid, and precise. I still consider Medha Hari one of the best!

indian culture is the most unique and fascinating one!

  • LOUD!!! ... the beauty of this perfomance was that, its simply communicating. The dancer is talented, obviously the moves proves the thing. ARDHANARISWARAN was good in moves, but facial expressions was stagnent (female side).

    to the deity of our

    divine

    dancer

    from vamana avatara hasta

    namascar

  • WOW.....speechless!!

  • Bharatantyam

  • Wow. I'm trying to learn more about Indian culture so I stumbled across Bharatanatyam and it's beautiful. I don't understand the meaning behind it though. This dancer's face and body language is so expressive... is there a story behind it or is it just up to interpretation? Anyway, this is great.

  • यह बहुत अच्छा है! सुंदर!

  • girl u r incredible awesome mindblowing.

Ive never seen such perfect bharatnatyam with such incredible expressions. At places i felt as if God Shiv and Goddess Parvati are themselves doing this. Bless u, keep it up. :) Id like to know where u learnt it from and since when u have been practicing.

You are blessed with Her look , may you realize Her in your dance. Om Sakthi.

  • brilliant. gracious.

  • this young girl is fantastic. she dances incredibly. her teacher's choreography is phenomenal and the girl does full justice to the beautiful choreography. i have one suggestion to medha hari. she should not stomp her foot. i hope she takes this positive criticism in the right spirit. if she corrects this mistake she can rise upto Padma subramaniam's level.

  • very good expression... i've done the same dance for 3 years n i found difficult dancing n using right expression at the same time... she did it perfectly... gr8 job... ;-)

  • its amazing how she keeps her back so straight

  • Good performance, what is the name of the performer?

  • I love Medha Hari. She dances so beautifully. Thank you very much for this vid =)

  • i heard she recently left her old guru and joined padmaji

  • Fantastic dance!

  • sorry i hope i dont sound ignorant..but bharatnatyam originated in south india right?

  • namaschkar...verry cool. She dances with grace and enjoys it...subh naravati

  • Medha was lucky to study under Anita when the school was very small and every student got individual attention. My daughter was learning there for 4 years and was still in the adavus class, nobody corrected her (40 children in 1 class!), has not learnt any item. We just had to find a better guru.

  • She is just perfect. Very good job. Congratulations. I watch this Video more than 5 times :-)

  • Honestly, one of the creepiest things I have come across today,on the positive side(not her face!) I love this dance, very sharp, the hand movements are amazing. I admire those things since I am a flamenca, and lord knows flamenco is fire!

    Ciao

  • kwl ive done the same dance 4 5 yrs

the outfits r sooo hard to put on n take off

  • Best Bharatanatyam dancer I have ever seen... I watch this video every fortnight to get a feeling that i should do a lot to improve myself :-)

  • She has very good expressions. I also watch this to motivate me to do better for my competition!!! :]

  • beautiful facial expression and graceful gestures..storytelling by means of body language, no words needed whatsoever. I always love classical asian dances!

  • love her expressions..

  • Do you know her name, please?

  • medha hari

  • Beautiful Sequence at 4.40! What a grace! Would love to see this live!

  • no kuchipudi is from andhra pradesh, mohiniattam is from kerala

  • Fantastic. So fluid, but still accentuated. She has a lot of control. Her expression is great too.

  • shes a babe

  • she's a 11

  • Medha's artistic expression has traveled all the way into my life and inspired me to begin Bharatanatyam. Her Arai Mandi is perfect and she is an incredible dancer. I hope I can be half as talented as her one day.

  • wowo! tht was amazing! lol im only a beginner :p wow!!!

  • good

  • i do bharatnatyam but im 9 almost 10 and it kinda hard im gujrati my cuz just had her arangetram her name is dixi she turned 16 hers was august in the 20th

  • This is one of the best arangetram i have seen in recent fast.this girl has inharent wonderfull talent and moulded in a right way to perform all steps very nice.her aranketram DVD is amazing and one of best dvd in this collection.her saree makeup also good. This is your first but not least you will give much more in future.i wish you all the best to you.Thank you to your teacher and parents.

  • I know next to nothing about Bharatanatyam or any other traditional Indian dance. But I recognize beautiful movement when I see it. It seems to be that this would be a difficult style to learn, as even the movement of the eyes has to be coordinated. But it really adds to the dance.

  • what's the diference between Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kuchipudi?

    thanks for the answer

    *

  • They each have differences in movement and structure. Bharatanatyam comes from Tamil Nadu, Odissi comes from Orissa, and Kuchipudi is from Andhra Pradesh. I personally favor Odissi.

  • Bharatanatyam, Odissi and Kuchipudi are all different forms of dance that developed in different parts of India more that 2000 years ago. Bharatanatyam was developed mainly in south India, particularly present day state of Tamil Nadu. Odissi developed in Orissa and Kuchipudi in Andra Pradesh. They differ in the structure of the dance, the rythym, the movements and the rules governing the dance forms.

  • superb video... thanks for sharing!

  • As far as I know Medha Hari is the only good Bharatanatyam dancer in that entire 300-students-strong Bharata natyam school. This is a typical case when a talent reaches the heights despite the mediocre guru.

  • Anyone know the name of the song, or know where I can get a recording of this beautiful singing?

  • Exquisite! Perfect expressions, great alternation between quick & agile and slow & smooth and altogether very beautiful and pleasant to see. Thank you!

  • What´s the diference between Bharatanatyam and Odissi?

  • Talking 'bout Perfection...

  • how old is she?

  • wow how du u memorize all those steps? thats amazing!

  • The steps are not memorized. There are some basic steps or Mudras that are defined by the dance form and some rules on how they can be used. The dancer improvises and uses these steps depending on the meaning of the song being sung. The same song can be performed by different dancers and each of them will be different from one another.

  • how old is she now?

  • You're great, I also do Bharatanatyam. How long have you been learning?

  • Does anyone knows what it says???

  • She is a newbie.. I suspect. I used to like Padma SUBRAMANYAM

    She was hot!

But..this one medhaji hari ain't bad.

    :)

  • omg, this bharatanatyam is mesmerizing....

  • This is one of the best Bharatanatyam dancer that I have ever seen! These young Chennai classical Indian dancers are the world's top virtuosos.

  • nice forms, like specially the fast part of the dance, the queen of cuautitlán.

  • awesome!

  • medhaji hari is so cute

  • she is a true bharatanatyam dancer

  • geeeezzz! she's amazing!
