I'd say just drinking anything that tastes good to you but doesn't dry out your throat works best for screaming, growls, etc. because it would coat your throat with flem... Like this guy says not to use sour things, I use lemonade for my screams/growls and it helps me a lot and doesn't dry out my throat at all... But I also have no clue because my throat automatically coats itself with flem when I scream/growl xD

Shure SM58, Dynamic mic, great for metal vocals. Can withstand high pressure, very rugged. You can throw this thing off a cliff and it'll probably still work xP.

3 main types of mic btw, Dynamic, Condenser and Ribbon. do NOT use a ribbon mic. Condenser mics may be a little too sensitive but it's worth a try anyway ^_^ x
