It is well known that in Australia we have the "tall poppy" syndrome where a lot of ordinary Australians resent and criticise people who achieve success.

It seems we have now "emerging/small poppy syndrome" where we put down young Australians who are only in the beginning of their careers and very much on a steep learning curve. Storm Kaden sang on the same microphone as every other person on X factor.

To her credit she persisted and showed the judges what she was capable of. Well done!
