If you use a good distortion pedal you should be fine. However, to be clear Martin is not playing through any pedal on this demo. this is very misleading, i own this guitar and as much as i love it, the pickups do not give enough depth when played through more common amp. i use a marshall mg100dfx and i cant get any sounds like that out of it.

Having a dean vx myself, I can say that dean makes great guitars. HOWEVER, all of you fender les paul fanboys may not like the overall feel of the instrument.

anyone doubting this guitar for the price is crazy. ive had this guitar for a year and it a fucking beast. i play everything from zep to metallica on this bad boy(mostly metallica).you WILL NOT find a better guitar for 300 bucks. the action is super low on this guitar.all of my many friends who have played this guitar have said the neck and action were the best they ever played.one of my frinds even swithced to dean guitars after playing this guitar.

I was SOOO lucky to barely be able to find the deal I did on mine, its used, but u cant tell that it didnt just come out of the factory, and the pickups on it arent stock pickups, Im not sure the brand of them, the guy didnt specify, but i kno the pickups alone are worth about $80-$90

Dimebag Darrell taped the sides of his pickups with black electrical tape and since this guitar is in the Dimebag series it like most of them has the tape on the sides. It is for looks only. There is no floyd on this model. Rock On!

I would say normally a Dean is better then any les paul... Razorback 255 has EMG's... they sound good for rhythm, but apparently not so good for soloing. If you'd only do rhythm with the Neck pickup, the 255 should be fine, but i'd recomend the Razorback Two-Tone.

OMG YES i recently got a jackson jr30 or somethin and it was a replacement guitar because my epiphone les pual classic(w/ quilted maple top) didn't have a bolt on neck and the back of the neck was glossy or w/e(wood wasn't showing) and i could tap on that guitar lke hear it well and stuff but when i got this i can't hear the tapping at all so i wasn't sure if it was the neck or anything and i was very worried BUT NOT ANYMORE THANK YOU!!!!!

yes, no problem at all. Martin has the distortion and gain cranked up on the AXL amp for this demo but without it you can play clean on this guitar fine.

The guitar is 45 1/2 inches from bottom to the top in length. It is full size but not overly huge. While you can fit these on some stands, it is not recomended. It is best to get a hardshell case for them which cost $90 - $149.
