@semajbowens I just came back from Shanghai, China! Never been to China before in my life, so it was quite an experience! Shopping was FANTASTIC! I am on duty for Bass guitar next week, so I had better start practicing! My fingers probably have gone soft and weak after not touching a guitar for 2 weeks!
hey great video....you did a great job of breaking it down, but maybe turn the bass toward the camera so we can see the notes while you are demonstrating. sometimes fingering gets in the way and if you are a beginner...understanding the lingo can be challenging....thanks and GOD continue to enrich you and your family!
thank you so muuuchhh . i just learn it in ten minutes!!! thank god. i have been playin for a year and in the church for about 6 months. i went to pastoral anniverary last night and was blowed out of the water by a guy who sounded hes been playin his whole life. it inspired me to practice even more and look what god has blessed me with . thank you lord.
Im glad this video has helped you. Keep practicing no matter what! Sometimes it can get a lil boring but dont slack in that area. I promise you <if you commit atleast a half hour to practicing a day you will notice an improvement in a week.
We are all playing for Jesus. Its good that his playing inspired you instead of filling you with resentment Because that would be the devil. God Bless
There are 12 keys that you can learn. (Yes, I know that there are different modes, but that's for another time) Each key has 7 notes. If you take a scale, no matter the kind of scale, just take each letter and number it. For example, in the C Scale, C would be 1, D would be 2, E would be 3, F would be 4, G would be 5, A would be 6 and B would be 7. Its a lot easier to number your scales so that you would be able to play in all keys not just one.
This is called the number system. Now that you know it, just use the chords that correspond with the note and then use the pattern that the song is in. 80% of songs follow the Circle of 4ths (or 5ths its called both) and it can be found on the net. The number pattern thats most likely to go after each other would be 7-3-6-2-5-1-4, but not all songs follow all the numbers. You can just have a 2-5-1 or just a 6-2-5-1 .
You can apply this stuff to a 4 stringer too. You just have to alter the fingering. If im not mistaken, i barely used the low B string in this video. The number system I use can be applied to any stringed bass so once you learn the music <just place it in a key that will allow you to do it on your bass. its good to practice it in all keys. Thax for the compliment.
What about some more Andrae Crouch eg. I don't why Jesus loves me, Soon and very soon. Or, Through it all (I've learned to trust in Jesus). Love those songs
it looks like you are playing chromaticly thru out the whole song then you hit the 2-5-1 during the special (his my friend) is true what i am hearing and seeing.
@antweezy thank you for your comment. I look forward to the video you will post to help me be just as good as you are on bass.

Thank you! This bass is my first "nice" bass. Although I play my Warwick more than anything, I'll never part from my Fender.
