Islam is beautiful, but so sorry i do not agree with paligomy. I don't see how a man can love more than one woman equally. I love my fiance and i could never imagine loving anyone else. Is a mans heart somehow so much greater than a woman's that he can love more than one partner? No i don't really think so. I know my fiance is happy with me and me alone. I'm glad women have a say if there man wants to take on another wife because what they say should be respected too.

In islam, there is polygany ( The marriage of one man to 2 to 4 women) and never polyandry ( the marriage of a woman to more than one man) which has never been allowed by the One true God the Creator.Love is an emotion that has many definitions and can be subjective.The institution of marriage in Islam is not predicated on an emotion. It is predicated on 'adl' justice. Doing Justice between the wives.

P.S. IF your 'love' is so real,strong and sure than why is your mate still your fiance' ?

Women always say they have a problem with sharing their man, they coul dneve see sharing their husband. But yet, everyday a man is cheating on his "woman", if she be his wife or girlfriend. A woman is fine being the "other woman," she is fine if she's a mistress. And that all falls under sharing a man. How many women know that their man is "creeping" on them, yet they deal with it. Or they will leave him for another man, and he does the same thing. They may not be happy with it but they deal.

In our society we are raised to accept this, that our men may even travel outside the relationship and pay for sex. Again, many people accpet this. But soon as a man taking another woman to be his lawful and legal wife comes into play, then everyone wants to get bent out of shap, scream that they never could do this, that this isn't right. It's backwards, or barbaric. Or something that was practices in the past. But look, Allah knows His creation better thatn we know ourselves.

Is proven if you believe in eveolution or that Allah created man, man naturally wants more than one woman. He cannot be satisifed with only one. It's his nature. And this is why polygnamy is allowed. So you can sit there all you want and say how you could neve share your man. Truth is, you already are, and you may not know it. And he is dishonoring the both of you by not making either one his wife or wives. Plygnamy is a blessing not something nasty or sinful.

Sister, i understand if polygyny is something you can't be in but to say that you dislike it, is something to re-think before stating. Because, polygyny is a right that was given to muslims by Allah in the Quran. If u dislike anything in the Quran or disbelieve in anything in the Quran even .001%, then you might be committing kufr and disbelief and depending on how much you disbelieve or dislike is tantamount to being a non-believer. Just a thought.

Br. Omar Nasser, the brother that made the documentary on Islam in America.

He was recently involved in a car accident (may be a hit and run) which left him in coma for 4 days. He has since come out of the coma and been discharged, although he is in serious condition and at home resting. Please make dua that the brother is granted a full and speedy recovery.
