I'm sure the Koch Bros. money will be mobilized to begin dismantiling this bill, should it pass. We need to change our name to the Corporate States of America, because thats what is happening. God Speed President Obama, we know better than to believe the astro-grass tea party fascists and their billionaire sponsors. Guess what, the american people do need and want reform. The gop has become pathetic.
coffreefish, he's spineless alright - for failing to stand-up to the insurance monopolies and reform health care in this country in some meaningful way instead of just shoveling more public cash into the health care industries coffers.
Raise income tax for the rich by 5% to finance the vile murderous war in Vietghanistan. That'll end that colossal waist of lives and material in a hurry!
Senator: Although I understand your good intentions having the government handle our healthcare will be a disaster and it will most likely bankrupt this country. For sure you will not have my future vote or those of my family if you decide to run for anything again. Additionally you will be remembered as a member of the select people that helped take the United States into economic oblivion. I hope you rethink your position.
Perhaps you should rethink (or just THINK the first time) YOUR position on health care.
How is it that we have plenty of money to murder brown people in Iraq and Vietghanistan but NO WILL to break the strangle-hold of the insurance monopolies of our health care?
Typical response. Questioning the thought process of someone that disagrees with you. If its you Senator Nelson then lets just say I liked you better as an an astronaut. If its a staffer maybe, just in case, prepare for another gig, in case things don't work out in the next election.
If Medicare is bad, broke, and corrupt now. Imagine when everyone's on it.
Wouldn't it be great if it turned out that "wdgeo" is one of the Senator's staffers. Let's see. Yep! 24 less votes for Nelson.
Your public option is nothing but a bankrupting of an already bankrupt nation. Projections are that the US federal deficit will hit 20-trillion dollars within the next 8 years. And that is without this healthcare monstrosity. Our nation is finished. Gone are the days of the prideful, self-sufficient, freedom loving American. The dependent leach-mode has set into the American populace, and it will destroy our nation. There will be no more middle class when those jobs are shipped overseas.
Affordable Health Care for everyone doesn't have to be a stepping stone to socialism, neither does it have to bankrupt the nation. Other countries have working systems in place and they had to make the same hard decisions we are now making.
The problem is we can't get from out current heath care model to one that covers everyone without making some group unhappy.. it just can't be done.
Simply put, health care is a special case which needs to be put outside of the for-profit marketplace.
I agree with SOCIALISM IS COMMING and if you make 50K or more get ready YOU WILL PAY and the CONGRESS PEOPLE ARE EXEMPT FROM THEIR OWN PLAN THEY KEEP THEIR CUSHY PLANS AND GIVE THE REST OF AMERICA SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE
I am a drug rep and NOT ONE doctor I have spoken to wants this lousy "reform" How about TORT reform stop the Lawyers from running up the cost of healthcare with ffrivousous lawsuits
You're right. I'm a resident physician myself. Even amongst the young, optimistic physicians, support for this bill is essentially nill. Yet we're allowing the imperial government (read: federal government) in Washington to run our healthcare industry. I watch these buffoons debate these issues, bungling over basic medical terminology, and I smack my forehead and frankly bemoan the future of my patients. Efficiency never describes DC. And yes, this will bankrupt us and kill us.
Senator Nelson is right. We need health care that is available and affordable...that doesn't mean government mandated, public option is the answer to this. In fact, what our representatives (?) have come up with so far more likely will make health care less available and less affordable. The Gobment will decide IF you need the care (probably not) and the Gobment can't manage the cost of anything. What next-government as food provider? We'll all be eating hot dogs.
The only way the health care reform bill makes sense is if it INCLUDES a ROBUST PUBLIC OPTION to force the gangster-run health insurance monopolies to compete in a system that isn't a profit-driven monstrosity that pays its executives OBSCENE bonuses while DENYING MEDICAL CARE TO ITS OWN PAYING CUSTOMERS!
End the Monopolies! SUPPORT A ROBUST PUBLIC OPTION NOW!
Nelson is listening to comments that Obama made which have been proven to be falsified. We cannot afford to provide this kind of insurance. I believe certain people just elect not to pay high premiums for insurance for a variety of reason, they should not be fined (taxed) for this decision. If they lost their job, how are they expected to pay for insurance much less the fine? The government better start taking their heads out of the sand and look at what's going on in the real world.

If you want to make a first step on Health care DO NOT pass a huge trillion dollar bill.
Start small take baby steps not a huge leap.
If you do vote yes for this bill Senator be prepared to look for a new job next year.

This channel sure is swarming with insurance-industry TROLLS.
Don't be fooled. Until we take the profiteering out of health care, it will always be capricious and unjust.

100% of all income tax collected last year paid for bailouts and the wars.
MY TAXES PAID FOR...
1) wars I don't support and oppose
2) bailouts that made Rockefeller/Rothschild owned banks stronger, which I did not want.
and now you want me to spend over a thousand a year for health insurance which I do not need?
NO
I will not pay one dime for health insurance unless you either...
A) end the wars or
B) end the income tax
it's that simple
