God bless them , and I respect everyone of them with the deepest regard, but they are quite old,and you know some of them were thinking why are we clapping where is the pudding.
When I saw everyone stand up and give those great men a standing ovation I was over come. I rekindled a little hope I had for our generation, that even though that ceremony was about actors and screenplay, all those people stood up, clapped and honored those great heros and the sacrifices they made so many years ago..
Everytime Major D. Winters opens his mouth. Both on this video and in the miniseries, he always say something so great! He is, in my opinion the proof of a real soldier, the proof of a real human! It is just like he said in the ending of the miniseries, he refused to call himself a hero "but I served in a company of heroes"! There are no president, king or queen in the world that makes more sence than him! May he rest in peace!
Wow. I wish this could have qualified for the best drama series category, because I consider it one of the best TV series period. So glad Mr. Winters and the surviving members of Easy Company were there for the win. What an emotional acceptance speech.
There Heroes look uncomfortable being surrounded by Fake Hollywood people and culture. Major Winters and his men of Easy Company demand more respect than ALL Hollywood actors and directors and movies combined.
Actors and movies are fake. But these War veterans are REAL. What they went through will never be understood or comprehended by anyone of us who wasn't there.
When one of Americas greatest heroes from the era of world war 2 says "i salute you" it means more that most will ever know. Us older soldiers from any branch of the military will take pride.
When I watched Band of Brothers, I was like fuck yeah they kick ass! But I could never really process the fact that all those battle scenes REALLY happened (more or less), and that it wasn't just a concoction of hollywood. There were real men who really kicked ass. It's still astonishing, over half a century later.
I wish there were more officers like Major Winters, If I could have after reading and seeing what this man had done for his country and brothers in arms. I would have awarded every medal for gallantry and valor I could find, then given him back his unit. were he belonged rather than stick him behind a desk! I salute you Major! R.I.P.
I have more respect for Major Winters and the men who fought this war, and every other war, than any other person on this earth. What these people went through is unimaginable and would strike fear in the strongest of humans. God Bless every person who has served and died for this wonderful country of ours. May you rest in peace, Major Winters.
I may not be a soldier but I feel like I need to salute Maj. Winters before I pass on. As not just a wish but a patriotic duty to show my never dying gratitude for what Maj. Winters and Easy Company did.
unfortunately in Brazil we forget our heroes. If you can look for a video called the man who tricked Hitler. hugs and wish my country learn to value our heroes as Americans.
The other day i heard in a documentary that hitler after conquer europe was planning to invade america trough Brasil. This made me realize that if that had happened we all would be slaved and we wouldn´t have this life we have right now.Thank you veterans for that big sacrifice you made for the new generations could have freedom. God bless you and saves a big pieces of heaven for you.
@DatPicksburghGuy Me as well. The bravery and sacrifice of the men of Easy Company and all who fought in WWII to liberate the world is immeasurable. We owe them everything.
Wow - to think of what these guys did and went through...amazing. Nowadays we have kids looking up to gangsta rappers, who ride in limos and make millions acting baddazz, when they are pussies.
