I heard the version by Francis Yip, legendary singer from Hong Kong of Shanghai Beach fame and luv her version very much, played her version over & over again. Somehow her version seems more passionate, emotional & romantic. Try & lister to her version
for my wife whos been in the hospital for 4 months now - God i love her so much this song says it all - 37 years together since high school - i love you Jo
@MsSlider24. I have read his autobiography and seen interviews with him where he readily admits he was an "asshole" for quite a few years. He told in his autobio that he was touring constantly and everyone wanted to see him, touch him, take his picture, sign autographs etc. I can understand how that could get to a person after awhile. He realized he was not surrounded by friends but by "yes" people. He made a decision to change and surround himself with his old friends again. Read his autobio
This guy is an amazing talent. A genius wasted on an egomaniac. I had the misfortuned of seeing him in concert when I was 12 years old. We had front row seats. He had a temper tantrum and stormed off stage. The temper tantrum resulted from someone who walked close to the stage to get a close up picture. The woman taking the picture fell and a couple of people giggled at her. This happened while he was singing a ballad. He told off the entire audience and stormed off stage.
This is my favorite Manilow song of all time!!! He couldn't say it more eloquently than in this song! If your a romantic like I am...I was raised by two wonderful romantic's my Mom & Dad. They loved Sinatra, Nelson Eddy & Jeanette MacDonald, Kathrine Grayson & Howard Keel, Gordon Macrae & Shirley Jones, Mario Lanza, Engelbert Humperdinck. Well, when I started listening to Barry in 1975 of course I loved his style of ballads, the White Tux, the piano, the sound, his lyric's, his music etc.
Thank you sooooo much for posting this! The memories, the first love, they all come back in waves of emotion. I can close my eyes and I am back in time. :) :) :)
@MrCreativechange Looking through our yearbooks recently...noticed that next to your senior picture, this song is listed as your favorite...can't ever hear it or any Barry without thinking of you! (and it appears, based upon some of these other comments, we are not alone!!)
@michelescoones I know the feeling. Found him and his beautiful music when I was 11. Now I'm 42, well will be on Tuesay. All The Time is a song I find strength in. It gave me so much comfort as a kid. Having Barry say to me I'm not so bad always made me feel less afraid and not alone.
THE WHOLE WORLD LOVE'S BARRY MANILOW.
