  • i have one of these, my grampa bought it new in 1974 for 150$. it runs as good today as it did when he brought it home

  • this is the best music to ever accompany a chainsaw video by the way. You sir are a good American.

  • nice machine! later in the video I think I might have axed it / wedged it but. right on!

I've got one like it, but mine is ford blue to match my truck... haha

  • those old homelites are indestructible, i have an old homelite that my grandpa used to use on the farm 30-40 years ago

  • i got a workin one like this for 5 bucks at a recycling center. COOL!

besides, older machines are way tougher in quality than those shitty lean-running new ones.

  • I second that.

  • @MRkallek91 5 BUCKS??? so not fair!

  • @MRkallek91 "Lean-running"? Maybe relative to this saw which seems to be adjusted waaaaay rich, with fuel:oil of maybe 10:1. Running like that, it'll clog up exh port & muffler pretty quickly; not good for power either.

Anyhow, relative to subsequent generations, it's noisy, dirty, rough and heavy. Dangerous to the operator, not productive.

I've a saw from the '80s that'll cut circles around this old Homelite, all day, and it cost less than a couple of bucks. Meaning only that we've learned.

  • That thing just made an ozone hole haha :)

  • What a beastly sawdust maker. :)

  • i noticed that your not oiling your bar as munch as you should

  • Yup. Should of been on that more.

  • Awesome music

  • That's a gear drive, with 404 pitch chain. I think it's Sharp, cut raker's a little, run's great. It make's a cut about 4 time's wider, then a 026 Stihl. The chain speed on the 26 is probley 10 time's faster, with 325 pitch chain. I really can't say much about it, i would have to be there. Nice old saw

  • that's an oldie be safe cut on parallel

  • chain needs sharpened no? That saw should just wiz right through that stuff. Nice saw though. I just baught me one.

  • There is a fuel line on that saw its about 3/4 of an inch long right between the tank and the carb mine ran better when I changed it.

  • i have a Husqvarna 3120 XP and i have to admit that chainsaw is old but it runs great

  • Commander,

Where are your chaps and safety helmet/visor???? Very dangerous to cut without those. Sweet old saw though.

  • Yes I admit I havn't been the safest of users. I have no excuse.

  • run trought the jungle by Creedence Clearwater Revival

  • agree with Kenshine

  • Yeah......I know this one too! And that wood is sitting outside my back door.

  • I still say, god DAMN this chainsaw sounds great.

  • no baby. this saw needs service. 1. it looks he added litle bit more oil in to the petrol.

    2. chain needs to sharp" and 3. acceleration jet has to be adjusted..

    btw. nice old saw :-)

  • I know that saw should cut faster, my 52cc (or is it 53cc?) Stihl 026 cuts alot faster than that, and with 77ccs, that old girl should cut in circles around mine. :)

  • he is doing just fine cutting that log the saw deosnt put out alot of rpms i have a wiz 66 there built for power not speed
