@MRkallek91 "Lean-running"? Maybe relative to this saw which seems to be adjusted waaaaay rich, with fuel:oil of maybe 10:1. Running like that, it'll clog up exh port & muffler pretty quickly; not good for power either.
Anyhow, relative to subsequent generations, it's noisy, dirty, rough and heavy. Dangerous to the operator, not productive.
I've a saw from the '80s that'll cut circles around this old Homelite, all day, and it cost less than a couple of bucks. Meaning only that we've learned.
That's a gear drive, with 404 pitch chain. I think it's Sharp, cut raker's a little, run's great. It make's a cut about 4 time's wider, then a 026 Stihl. The chain speed on the 26 is probley 10 time's faster, with 325 pitch chain. I really can't say much about it, i would have to be there. Nice old saw
I know that saw should cut faster, my 52cc (or is it 53cc?) Stihl 026 cuts alot faster than that, and with 77ccs, that old girl should cut in circles around mine. :)
i have one of these, my grampa bought it new in 1974 for 150$. it runs as good today as it did when he brought it home

this is the best music to ever accompany a chainsaw video by the way. You sir are a good American.

i got a workin one like this for 5 bucks at a recycling center. COOL!
besides, older machines are way tougher in quality than those shitty lean-running new ones.
