it is kind of sad to see, hes taking all these pills but were just not far enough ahead in technology for him to live for ever... you have to be ultimately objective and this is a perfect example, you have to stand on the shoulders of giants, he doesnt want to die right before the singularity... thats not fun to die while knowing about that... so he gets overzealous when hes looking for his information because the mind takes what it wants and after all hes only 1 man.
Some people live a long life without really having lived at all, and i doubt if another bunch of years would make that any different for them. It would probably be better to learn how to live, than how to live longer. I also doubt if that kid flipping burgers wants to pay for too many more golden years.
@xLordOfNothingx Who doesnt, im only 19 and since my first glimpses of awareness, the world has changed so incredibly much, i cant imagine what the world would become in a thousand years, in hardly 50 we're gonna go from basic computers to literally becoming immortal bio-mechanical beings.
@xLordOfNothingx Obviously you don't want to live forever. But ask yourself, if you don' want to live forever then why live now? That is unless you believe in the afterlife
Homosexual activists understand the power of words.
Please visit my channel to watch a one-minute video clip in which popular atheist author Richard Dawkins admits that homosexual activists "hijacked the word 'gay'".
The word "homosexual" is more appropriate and accurate because it, unlike the word "gay", actually describes the behavior/attraction/relationship being discussed.
The word "gay" helps homosexual activists push their agenda.
Lots of ignorant people on this video. Someone asking why exactly 34, "you must be religious to believe such crap"... Of course he doesn't mean it's 100% exactly 34 years from now, but it's probably around that date... He says it will happen around 2045, if it happens in 2048 was he wrong? If you ignore all the science and data behind it, don't talk bullshit you dumbass!
Great stuff. Now we just need to get rid of the backward governments we have and replace them with a model of rule which follows the scientific method. Meritocracy would suffice.
@imfreeasabird we get 120 years in this life. But don't worry your not you, your a part of the whole universe, you are the universe, and you will never die.
The SIngularity Institute is just asking for money! The guy in this video is 63, he looks like he is 63. He has taken wonderful care of his body, but it will die, and there programming AI bs is no where near discovering anything. I just read about it and I know enough about programming to say its not 34 years away. Its 340 year away.
@truthseeker010101 I hope you were exaggerating with the 340 years statement... As a senior researcher and software engineer I can estimate with a high degree of confidence that it's less than a century away.
@tomasusan but 100 sounds more likely. But saying it's "34" years away is like me saying Warp Drive is 82 years away. Its a fun thing to guess about but we surly dont know. Kinda like flying cars and other silly ideas.
@truthseeker010101 Yeah, who needs to live longer when you have the promise of imaginary immortality? And you can look 340 years into the future...? lets add imaginary clairvoyance to the mix, while you're at it why not just imagine yourself a fortune. And you've never been sick? Wow, imaginary memory too. Why live in the real world when the world of your own imagination is so great? Each to their own. But I prefer reality.
@jamesstephenbrown I have never been sick, my mother is a hippie and she made sure I eat healthy, excersise and I don't use posionous products that are on pretty much every self in america. I stink a lot from not using deoderant sometimes but yeah man, never had an illness once other then food posioning. I don't know what your refering to when your saying I "imagine" something? Could you explain, you just seem to be foaming at the mouth and I can't make it out.
@jamesstephenbrown I never sais this wasn't going to happen, I only said I think its 100 years away and not 34 which is a pretty weird number to just pull out of your arse isn't it? why not 35, or 33?
@truthseeker010101 It's all good. I was going to say something about processing power fitting into smaller and smaller space but I'm trying not to comment on things I might disagree with anymore. I'm not one of those nitpickers. I like to dare to imagine we can get there in 34 years. It's fun. It fits his exponential curve of data is where he got 34. There is a lot of converging tech. I'm interested in nanobots. If we're both interested in Kurzweil we're both basically geniuses. Live forever!
I eat healthy, excercise, and I am very healthy. I have never taken so much as advil. I've never been sick, and never consumed a vitiman pill. Eating healthy is a big part of it. And excersise too really. I hope to live to be at least 80, and maybe make 100. None of us are going to keep these bodies living forever. There is no need to anyway, this is just a body, its like cloths for the soul, you cast off your old cloths and put on new cloths. There is no death. One Love , Jah Lives
Guys, being able to live forever won't be available to everyone. I'd imagine it would be extremely costly, I don't want to live forever either. I'd only want to live forever, if I am always able to kill myself at will.
@Biktuh It's a sliding scale. The further we progress, the more time is added to life expectancy. Though you may have aged 10 years, life expectancy might have grown 5-10 years in that same time. At some point in the near future, life expectancy will start to out pace aging. Kurzweil is on record as saying he believes some baby boomers will be alive in 2099. In 20 years, surviving an additional 70 years might be expected rather than an outlandish belief.
@mmx25 i think my comment is perfectly clear. im not talking about life expectancy. just 2 years (2010) ago they said that you would only need to survive 20 more years to possibly attain "immortality" and come 2011 it became more years 34 years. 14 years more added to attain "immortality".
@Biktuh I think you'd have to be a moron of sorts to not understand how the progressive extension of life expectancy will ultimately result in immortality.
@mmx25 you dont have to gave me a lecture on "progressive extension of life expectancy" because im not talking about that. you'd have to be a moron of sorts to understand that you're barking on the wrong tree...
Me, I'm on a daily regime of Coenzyme Q10, Resveratrol, VItamin D3 and a multivitamin pill. And I'm going to be adding Phosphatidylcholine to the program soon.
And I'm only 24, can't wait to see what the future brings:)
@spacecowboy95 you're only 24, you start to lose your coq10 after 30, you might do harm, ask your doctor if you need it now! the best way to be healthy is eat all different colors of fruits and vegatables, the more different colors the better, and limit junk food , eat fish 2 times a week, or take omega 3 fish oil.
Yeah I'm 27 and exercise religiously and eat somewhat healthy. 34 more years is the 2045 deadline of the singularity that Ray predicts. But if any of Ray's other predictions come true most of those healthy people under 65 or so will make it. Injectable Nanotechnology is supposed to be available in the late 2020's or something, so that would have to give us an extended lifespan anyways.
