Susan has also asked fans to leave the girl alone as she understands why she made that face. I also say don't hold it against the girl. She certainly was not alone in her reaction. No one expected Susan Boyle to sing like that. All the judges admitted later they thought Susan was going to be rubbish based on her appearance and the was she was behaving.
I know a lot of people have been hard on the girl at 1:46 but the truth she was probably one of among a large portion of the audience who reacted the same way including the judges. In her book "The Woman I Was Born To be"Susan mentioned that when did answer one of Simon's questions very well he rolled his eyes which was not shown. The girl was just unlucky because the camera landed on her. In a later interview the girl stated her life has become a living hell.
I was on holiday in India when this was shown and it made the local papers there.... when I got back it was the 1st thing I watched on youtube....inspiring...

Susan Boyle wow! what talent (She is Scottish of course) The first time I heard her the hair on my arms arose. A spiritual experience.
