  • .....My name is Jezebel :0

  • If Leonard Cohen hadn't mentioned the title of this song and its author in his song Memories, I would have never got interested in Frankie Laine!

  • :) He's really a great singer.

Has anyone found Desi Arnaz's version of this?

  • Mr. Laine and his wife were two of the kindest people I can remember from my childhood. My mom worked for him from 1962-1967.

  • if you weren't brought here by some idiot video game, but by a love of music, vote this up

  • We used to have this on an old 78 record.. Not sure if it was him singing it.. sounds similar...... :)

  • I like this version the best

  • this albums release date is 1956 but in mafia 2 jezebel is playing in 1951!!!

  • @aegean1able dude in 1951 they play money which doesn't come out till 1959 some of the songs that they play don't come out till the 1960s not everything can be accurate and most people don't care so deal with it

  • @FPSGamer4

actually, this song came out on a single in 1951; it's just this LP that was released in 56

  • @Ledcraft i was talking about the song "Money (that's what I want)" not "Jezabel"

  • Dean Martin "Return to me" came out in 1958 not everythings accurate about it

  • that powerful song .......

    magnificent

  • watch?v=RLeXfShIlrw

  • @VinylToVideo Demo

  • @Rigmored I played the demo.. can't wait. =P

  • @VinylToVideo

If you have the demo version of Mafia II, you can hear it. The demo's made me gain a new interest in music from the era, XD.

  • @ursisterisgood such a good game :)

  • I was lucky enough to see him live when he was in his seventies, still had that great voice and could belt them out. It was an honour to see the legend.

  • I liked Desi Arnaz' version better.

  • AWESOME.... JUST AWESOME....

  • Great song, VinylToVideo, in fact this is the only record version of the song on youtube - if you exclude the scratchy 78RPM version someone's uploaded.

The trouble with this version is, there's hardly any volume.

    How about re-posting it, VTV?

  • @Strawberry7Lynn If you have no volume here the problem is definitely on your end.

  • @VinylToVideo

Strawberry is right, the recording is very quiet.

  • R I P frankie

  • This is the first Frankie Lane I have on tape

  • We played this non-stop on our old gram. in our RAF billet back in 1951

  • 1951, huh? There is something about that year my family recognizes.

  • WOW, Go back to 1949 for "The Lucky Ole Sun" by Frankie Laine and the in the very early 50s for the wonderful "Jezebel", "Rose, Rose, I Love You" and his other great hits of that era, Singers of Today, whether you are an "American Idol" or whatever, listen to and learn from Frankie, this is how a song is supposed to be delivered. And above all, this great singer was a real gentleman.

  • Deveriam fazer uma regravação dessa música chamada "Geisy é o Créu", em homenagem àquela gordinha unibanida do vestidinho rosa.

  • I have this 78 that was my Moms,I love it.

  • This is an LP; would like this on 78 myself.

  • This is a classic from this era, Frankie does it so well.

  • I played this song so many times I wore the grooves out on the 78 record

  • This song was written by Wayne Shankman, who helped create 'The Big Hurt' for his wife at the time, Miss Toni Fisher..anyone notice the similarities between the two to their music? Almost similar..

  • I like this but im in love with ricky ricardo's version from i love lucy...its hypnotizing

  • @markee871 Black-laced blue jeans, LOLOLOL.

  • @markee871 Black-laced blue jeans, LOLOLOL.

  • what a voice ,can never be repeated,RIP Frankie.

  • I remember this from my early childhood when first it was a hit. I liked it then and I still like it now. Reminds me of another great song from the 50s - "Temptation" by the Everly Bros. Same key perhaps? Both favorites!

  • Great song..I have to admit, the french version of this song by Charles Asznavour is very good too..Take a listen..but nothing like Frankies version-especially when he sings it live!!

  • Thanks for posting this video. I agree with this0033 - they don't make music like this any more.

I also can't imagine another Frankie Laine coming along any time soon, with his booming voice and ability to give a song like this one, "Rawhide," etc., such power.

  • I used to have this on an album. Nobody quite like Frankie Laine, they don't make music like this anymore.

  • And why did you rate it so poorly, you idiot?
