I've heard of polyamory, and I know that it's different than cheating or swinging. The reason I'm watching vids on it now is because I'm writing a story, and it seems my main character is poly. If so, I want to get it right.
I didn't plan it this way, it just kind of happened. Originally, she was going to be briefly promiscuous and then monogamous.
If you want to really learn more about polyamory, visit my website (you will have to find the link in my profile, since comments won't let me post it here). You can also contact me if you want to talk to someone who is actively polyamorous. I am also a poly educator.
The story isn't really about polyamory. It's just a cute little science fiction sex story about a naked high school girl.
It's kind of...
Take three dots. Call one of them "Anzu," another "Botilda," and the third "Bret." Now arrange them in a triangle, and connect Anzu to both Botilda and Bret. Bret and Botilda might be connected to each other by an occasional dotted line.
Original plan was to put Anzu with Bret, and Botilda is her BFF.
A vee can include a friendship between the "wings" automatically, but some people like to distinguish those kinds of friendships with things like dotted lines or different colored lines ... but a vee by itself does inherently imply the possibility of that kind of relationship all by itself. Glad my site could help. I have a 3D model of my network made of Tinker Toys, too.
Listen to Polyamory weekly with the Minx. Everything you want to know about polyamory is discussed there. Polyamory is a group name covering tons of multiple combinations but they all these things in common: Love Open, honesty and tons of communication with all of the partners.
The fastest way to kill a polyrelationship: Start to hide and lie.
Yes, Minx is a lot of fun and her show is very entertaining and informative. I always have a good time when I hang out with her and we have some awesome poly discussions over ice cream and dinner!
I always listen to Polyamory Weekly when I commute from work. I am very interested in polyamore relationships. I was an poly activist too here in these parts of Europe so these podcasts helped a lot to give information to others.
But for a book it is more interesting of someone starting with cheating to become aware of polyamory and then tries to be open an honest to the partner she cheated on.
Apparently you weren't paying attention. Everyone on this show wants to have more than one lover and several thousand more around the globe. I'm sorry your life will be lacking in the breadth and depth of enjoyment and fulfilment that can be found with ethical non-monogamy.
That's how I was raised to feel as well, and then I felt horrible when reality hit and I realized I was able to not only just feel attraction for, but have deep love for more than one person at a time.
I realized that when I was raised to believe that I could Love my husband but only *Like* my friends, I was raised to believe something that didn't work for me. I truly love my close friends, even if there is no sexual component.
Because some of us understand what jealousy is and we work to solve the underlying issue of jealousy, rather than try to manage it by slapping on arbitrary rules that dictate other people's behaviour.

That's called a poly "Vee"

Yeah, that's what they've got: a big V with an extra dotted line. Except for Program participants. Then...
I'm drawing a diagram inspired by the ones on your site.

You lucky person. :-)
You actually meet her in real life :-)
For me her podcasts are my references. :-) That does not mean that I agree with it, but they do cover every aspect of polyamory :-)

I didn't figure this out until my late 20s tho.

There is always one typical sentence if someone is cheating and searches for help on a polyamore site.
They all start with: I really love my partner and I do not want to lose or hurt him, but I fell in love with someone else.

I'm not sure I understand ... who is getting out of a marriage? What I see are people who are enjoying open relationships
JorethInnkeeper 4 years ago
Personally for me it seems it's more so the husband that is getting out of an open marriage.
