  • beautiful. What was used for the sill?

  • Beautiful job guys! I live in a straw bale home i built in Ontario Canada and just loved the plastering. You can add in your own touch of character if you wish, it is so versatile. I used Eco house Paint (silica dispersion paint) and then a clear coat that basically gives it the equivalent of a 'gortex' finish. Well done, from Eco Straw House!

  • Yeah!! More of this!!

  • No!! Unless you have very expensive foundations!

  • great idea and the final finsh looks good..but what does the exterior plaster consist of?

  • clay mostly.

  • u can build a palace out of it...still like the idea of adobe more though

  • you dont need to use any mesh what so ever, why dont you try using a mortar sprayer, this will give it a much better 1st coat.

  • Hay have you or do you know where to get a mortor sprayer? I have been looking for one and the only thing I can find is a drywall spray rig. And a real motor sprayer is about 15.000 dollars

  • a mortar sprayer will cost you about £170 and is available from a firm called Refina near Poole in Dorset.
