She was known as Venus to the romans. To the Canaanites as Astarte, to the Sumerians, She was known as Inanna, to the Babylonians, as Ishtar. To the Assyrians and the Akkadians as Ashtart, Ashtoreth, Asherah, and Astoreth, to the Egyptians as Isis, Ashet and Aset, to the Phoenecians, She was known as Tanit-Ashtart and Ashtaroth. Her Ugaritic name was Anat. To the Greeks She is known as Aphrodite and to the Christians as Astaroth...
It's unfortunate that the female singer shows no real skill and sounds as if she is singing through her nose, because I love the lyrics and not the sound. Usually I am disappointed in the opposite way.
@SculptedThoughts It's called style. Many people can sing technically correct but very few have a unique and interesting style and since we are here, some people can't sing technically correct and trough 3857439 octaves but still have a stylish and unique voice color.
This song (the latin content) is made from 3 different songs from Carl Off''s Carmina Burana: Circa mea pectora multa sunt suspiria, de tua pulchritudine que me ledunt misere. Tui lucent occuli sicut solis radii, sicut splendor fulguris lucem donat tenebris (Carmina Burana - Circa Mea Pectora) / Iam amore virginali totus ardeo. (Carmina Burana - Tempus Est Iocundum) / Amor volat undique, captus est libidine. (Carmina Burana - Amor Volar Undique). Don't get me wrong, it's just information :)!
@DerMarcie Shame they sold out and sucked after this album as well as the fact that Raymond cant sing live worth a damn. This band is my favorite but much the same as metallica did they tried to do something more pop and as all pop bands do they burnt out and lost their talent.
i used this song as a backround music for a theatrical play where 2 angels of death were dancing in order to guide one lost soul...green,blue,red,and purplue lights...the result was fantastis...since then i am a big fan of tot
its the same angelic voice as she was in theatre of tragedy one song i like even thou i like more of her stuff elegy really awesome song and video to boot!
She sings in Latin and what she sings is a movement from the collection of poems Carmina Burana, the part they use is called 'Circa mea pectora' ^^... gotta love them
Well... I haven't heard her band's (I mean Leaves' Eyes) songs but I think her voice is still so "angelic". From Leaves' Eyes music I know only My Destiny. But in TOT Liv was awesome. *_*
@potkinz I've always felt that way about their earlier stuff, the instruments go really well to support the sound too, Dying I feel only apathy is likely the song that encompasses that sound the best.
I love this song! <3 so beautiful!

In my heart there are many sighs of your beauty, which wound me sorely.
Venus! I thought you were my friend.
You professed to heaven that you would send a villain disciple.
Did you act as the tragedienne? [a role in theatre suited to loss]
With pure love, I am all aflame.
Cupid flies everywhere seized by desire.
In my heart there are many sighs
Your eyes shine like the rays of the sun,
Just as the splendor of lightning, who gives light in darkness.
