  • It is always amazing to hear criticism of Hitchens. I am imagining some scruffy thread bare kid stumbling up to Vladimir Horowitz, having just finished playing (without flaw) Beethoven's Emperor Concerto and proclaiming "Ha! you are an idiot! Let me show you how it's done!" Suprise, suprise! Not only does he not show the master his technique, he storms out of the symphony hall flipping everyone off in frustration. Hitchens is right, as he usually is..........

  • Fortunately Hitchens is roasting in hell as we speak. God be praised.

  • @MaxamillianArturo No he isn't. Hitchens is merely hallucinating. He's saying to himself "It appear I am in hell. The only rational explanation is that I have gone insane. Therefore, the drugs the doctor is giving me will return my sanity and I will soon wake up in my office or on the hospital bed." You just wait, you evil, evil Christian: as soon as Hitchens wakes up from his hallucination of hell he can write a new book about how it doesn't exist! Lol.

  • @AcAwSk8Vids BAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @MaxamillianArturo uuggg. Go away you creep. You are a disgusting, gross, inhumane, fuck and you should call your ISP and demand they shut you down for the act of "stupidity online". bleh.

  • @dewpoint88 Why? Because I have a differing viewpoint? You must be a big fan of SOPA as well.

  • @MaxamillianArturo lol The devil is in the details...I said for YOU to call your ISP not for a third party to do it. Learn English composition and comprehension then we'll talk.

  • @MaxamillianArturo Wow....you would actually praise God for torturing someone in Hell?

Fortunately there is no such thing as hell and Hitchens isn't in it. But it's shameful that you actually have such low values that you would relish the torture of another human being.

  • @TonyRush I agree with you on there being no hell. I do relish the thought though, I guess him being dead and decomposing is a good alternative though.

  • @MaxamillianArturo

Hurting after he wiped Mormonism into the dirt are we?

  • @Gonzoidzz I'm not Mormon I just dont like Hitchens.

  • @MaxamillianArturo Shouldn`t you be licking gods balls at church god toady!

  • @nakedhands I'm not a Christian...maybe you should be licking Chris Hitchens'? Oh wait he's dead.

  • @MaxamillianArturo Thats right your a nobody,a cum stain that a pig sat on and gave birth to then threw the baby away and kept the afterbirth.

  • @nakedhands BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

  • Well, In the LDS Temple ceremony proxy baptism does not make someone who is dead a mormon by immersion, or any other method, as Mormons believe they are preaching to the souls of the dead.

  • hitch is so great. what a crock of shit is mormanism.

  • An uneducated hick came up with mormonism. A greedy, only semi-successful scifi writer (L Ron Hubbard) came up with scientology. HELLO!! Notice how easy it is to create a religion? Sheesh... Charles Manson did it! The desire to be lazy in wanting to push off the understanding of life, the universe, the stars, death, etc is hard-wired into the human species; as is shitting where you live. But the human species long ago realized that that causes diseases and kills the healthy. When shall we learn?

  • Mormonism, and Scientology are both wonderful illustrations of the maxim that religons are like sausages, not without benefit to those who consume them- but when you can see how thay were made... they're pretty hard to stomach.

  • he lives on in his words.

  • I'd rather be part of a weird relgion that eschews alcohol than drink myself to an early grave.

  • @samslick90 You’d surrender your mind to a cult rather than regularly partake in the joys of Scotch whisky?

But what if one led to the other? ;)

  • @samslick90 I would suggest the word fraudulent to be more appropriate. I would expect such a judgmental assessment from a simple thinker.

  • I'd pay for a debate between Hitchens and the LDS Church president.

  • @MishuTaste What 'Deep Blue' versus 'Breakout' circa 1976 - yer shitting me right? :)

  • @MishuTaste -pity Hitchens is dead

  • Mormonism is a cult that keeps trying to work towards interrogation as a "Mainstream Religion".

The "I am a Mormon" ad campaign, in which they have spent 100 million dollars to fuel and started October 2011, just as 2 Mormons are running for president. In 2008 they funneled 10 million into CA to combat prop 8.

Don't let them tell you that they hold no political bias. They want one of their own in the White House. A vote for Romney or Huntsman is a vote for Joseph Smith.

    Spread the word.

  • @PaulAll1313 You're right. Within the church, Mormonism is a continuum that has a goal of controlling the masses. If one of these gods in embryo are elected, more missionaries will come a knockin

  • Hitchens is well on his way to becoming the Will Durant of the adolescent atheists!

  • joseph smith was a nineteenth century version of david koresh. unfortunately smith's cult has grown to have much power and credence.

  • A Retrospective Baptism of the Dead: sounds like a really bad horror movie or a really great one.

    Those Mormons are sick fuckers,

I read this in book form, not knowing there was an audio available as read by the author. Hitchens being tremendously epic yet again.

  • @eqsmooth

"A Retrospective Baptism of the Dead: sounds like a really bad horror movie or a really great one.

    Those Mormons are sick fuckers"

LOL you still calling names....why are you mad? I dont think that you understand that no one cares about your opinion. bring forth true facts. stop with the name calling, smh

I respect everybodies opinion, but your opinion is as good as mine or anybody elses....doesnt mean a thing.

  • @jaromsmiss Do you respect the opinion of someone who thinks you should die in terrible hellfire? Do you respect the opinion of someone who thinks it is his fundamental right to stab you 30 times in the chest?

No, not all opinions are created equal. Some have terrible consequences against humanity. Other opinions are based on fact and reason.

I don't encourage name-calling and bigotry. But yes, opinions should be scrutinized, insulted, and mocked if deserved.

  • @TheTroubadoursMusic

your right. i agree, I respect peoples opinon as long as its good for humanity in some way or form.

I guess I wasnt specific enough. My point was I wanted facts from him, not just opinion.

  • @jaromsmiss lol you totally left out the part about opinions being based on fact and reason. Whatever, I'll take what I can get.

  • @TheTroubadoursMusic

So if I think a girl is attractive, is this based on fact? nope

Opinions can totally be based off of no truth, just my own evaluation, and do no harm to anybody or anything.

  • @jaromsmiss Sexual attractiveness has you as a direct variable. It's not like attractiveness is a strictly a property of the girl herself.

Your opinion about God, for instance, is not a variable in his existence. Unless of course you believe that, in which case you'd still be objectively wrong.

  • @TheTroubadoursMusic

God himself cant be proven. To say that my opinion on him is false because I cant prove god is going even further. I never said that God could be proven in the first place.

  • @jaromsmiss That does not mean you have zero information on God. While absence of proof is not proof of absence, absence of evidence IS evidence of absence. You can still understand the likelihood of God existing through probability theory and mathematics.

You don't think God can be proven, suggesting that you don't think science would ever find proof of God. The fact that science has never and will never find evidence of God is damning evidence against his existence.

  • @TheTroubadoursMusic

well yeah of course. There are theorys and math matical equations that may turn to a God. But in the end, unless God comes down and shows himself, people are probably not ever going to prove he exists. Thats simply my opinion, I mean maybe one day something will happen to do this, its just unlikely.

  • @TheTroubadoursMusic "While absence of proof is not proof of absence, absence of evidence IS evidence of absence."

I nearly wet myself laughing when I read this. When discussing anything outside of mathematics evidence IS proof. If the only swans you have evidence for are white swans is that evidence that black swans dont exist (are absent from existence)?

  • @davidsfriend01 Uhm. Yes. If you only ever see white swans, then that is evidence against the existence of black swans. If you only ever see nongreen swans, that is evidence against the existence of green swans. How is that illogical at all? It's not proof, but it is evidence. Obviously.

No, evidence is not proof. Evidence is the best we have instead of proof. It's not at all the same.

  • @davidsfriend01 Did you really laugh that hard? That rather depresses me. I suggest you look up Bayes Theorem, and its implications on these sorts of questions.

  • "... ever since Man first invented religion."

    And gods.

  • Romney and Huntsman are just as stupid/racist/hypocritical as the evangelical Backmann/Perry/Cain shit-heads.

  • Birds of a feather, etc., etc. Hitchens is a kook, IMO.

  • Arrogance is an infectious drug.....its almost like saying, you like me and want my company because I am being me and have something UNIQUE to say......this brings on popularity..........another infectious drug...

  • This is a fantastic book and I wholly recommend it.

  • I don't see how an educated and fair-minded person could be Mormon. Anyone think Mitt Romney might be hiding something? Surely a well-informed guy such as himself would see that the conception of Mormonism is, to put simply, a joke. Or maybe i am assuming to much of him, but i don't think so, he comes across as very articulate and intelligent.

  • @callmeCAYLOR But then you look at the number of intelligent, yet misguided people in history! Hitler, is a good example! An intelligent man who pretty much brain washed himself, same as Jo Smith did! And both had millions that followed them!!!

  • mor(m)ons..

  • It's a laugh that so many ignorant blacks proudly call themselves mormon!

  • @kadene2: yeah, kinda proves Smith's point, no? That was sarcasm by the way. I am trying to illustrate the implicite mentality in your comment.

  • @kadene2 Blacks are ignorant? I'd be careful, there. You are bordering on racism.

  • @JediMormon Ordinarily it would make perfect sense to agree with that assessment. But if a fundamentally and genuinely racist doctrine somehow conscripts the people it systemically disallows the benefits allowed to every other member...wouldn't those conscripts be pretty goddam dumb for signing up?

Oh but wait! The dishonest piece of shit mormon church not only is racist, they are fucking liars and cover it up and now say "The more the merrier!" A whole new level of stupidity.

  • @JediMormon One has to be either stupid or ignorant to be clinging to a faith that spurned them and only grudgingly accepted them in the name of expediency. And the expression "ignorant blacks" doesn't mean blacks are ignorant. It means exactly what it says. There are ignoramuses in every race.

  • @kadene2 Okay...it's obvious to me that your knowledge of Mormon history is almost nil--as in, you don't have a clue.

  • @JediMormon It is rekatively easy to read the fundamentals of "Mormon history" and it is a fact that blacks were not on equal footing with whites until afew years ago. Your denial is similar to the Muslims who deny that the penalty for apostasy in their religion is death.

  • @kadene2 Don't you just love those quickie, really convenient "revelations" like the one about Blacks being equal in the 70s, in order to avoid drawing the ire of anti-segregationists?

  • @kadene2 Few? As in 3-7 years ago? Blacks gained "equal footing" as you call it when the 978 revelation came out, over 30 years ago. That's hardly "a few years". Besides which, the LDS church was one of the first mostly white churches to have black members in leadership positions.

  • @JediMormon Yes, a few years. And the so-called "revelation" came right on time, especially as the civil rights movement was gaining traction. You're all a bunch of hypocrites and I just pity the fact that I won't be around when the nonsense of religion is decapitated. Fucking deluded, that's what you all are!

  • @JediMormon wake up. 30 years ago is a tiny fraction of the church's history. Furthermore, while a decree may come to pass on paper, how many black LDS bishops do you know? I've lived in Utah, I've lived the culture. While I *hope* some black bishops do exist, I have NEVER met one. I have heard LDS people, when they think they're in "safe" company--be openly racist on blacks, hispanics, asians, you name it! all the while referring to The Book of Mormon as their backing.

  • @hmmmmusic

I know african american elders quorum presidents I went on a mission and I met several great african american men with leadership positions.

African Americans represent only 12 percent of the USA population. of course their percentages are less in the church. you mentioned you lived in UTAH? well there are hardly any african americans at all in utah. Come down south

  • @jaromsmiss You Mormons are really trying to convince us you are normal, aren't you.

Through your relentless advertising, your ridiculous internet banter... The truly strange thing is, you don't realize that we all see right through it.

Mormonism brings shame to modern Christianity. From worshiping a con-artist (Joe Smith) to believing God lives on an extra-terrestrial planet, you truly deserve a new definition for yourselves because "gullible" and "idiot" are not powerful enough.

  • @ChristOrder

LOL im not trying to convice you anything, if you think that I am then your wrong. In fact I believe that Mormons are different. just as the scriptures tell us the followers of chist are Peculiar ( 1 Peter 2:9) and even the apostles were " fools for christ sake" (1 corinthians 4:9-10) I have no problem saying we are not of this world, but are different for christ.

being disrespecful and telling me that we are more than "idiots" is prove that you dont understand

  • @j You're really not getting anywhere are you?, yet here you are. Did you read your chapter in God is Not Great? Hitchslappy isn't it? Try consulting a book NOT published by LDS. You see, converted Mormons (& they all are) are not persecuted like Jews because they aren't a PEOPLE, they are simply fools w/a lack of energy for inquiry. On the other hand The Jews are distinctly, people. Judaism is their religion by choice, but if one is indeed a Jew by blood they are either Ashkenazy or Sephardic.

  • @eqsmooth

converted mormons are not persecuted? Many converted mormons were attacked and forced out of their own lands back in the 1800s. We are a people, once you are baptized into this church you become the people or GOD, Becoming adopted into the family God.

I must have not understood you because for you to say that mormons were not persecuted makes you a more ignorant person.

  • @eqsmooth

Have I gotten anywhere? with someone as hardheaded and ignorant as you? Thats probably impossible for me to do.

If I see someone calling mormons names I call them out on it. The interesting thing, is what you have said is mostly your opinion anyways. s-m-h

  • @eqsmooth

They thought if they could kill Joseph smith they could end mormonism. Thats why when people who opposed the church found out he has been brutally murded, they put in the paper a few days later "Thus ends mormonism". little did they know that they did not end a thing. 14 million people and counting.

  • @jaromsmiss Like any good cult. Growing like a virus

  • @ChristOrder

Christ, because he never taught to be disrespecful to anybody. he taught to love thy enemy and neighbor.

  • I wish someone in Salt Lake City would broadcast this on the local radio stations!

  • It is both fun and disturbing to learn how one dirty huckster was sly enough to deflower so many virgins without having to croak first. Even Muhammad would be impressed!

  • @thruthem ... Idiocy abounds.

  • thanks4uppin!
